Viktor Gyokeres full transfer fee revealed as Arsenal patience finally pays off

Arsenal are finally set to sign Viktor Gyokeres, the Sporting Lisbon striker, after reaching an agreement with the Portuguese champions to bring the Sweden international to north London
Arsenal are closing in on the signature of Viktor Gyokeres - after finally landing a price they like.
The Gunners have been in fractious talks with Sporting Lisbon over the Sweden striker. Gyokeres, 27, has scored 97 goals in 102 appearances for Sporting since moving to Portugal two years ago. But he's desperate to move to a bigger stage and has set his sights on a move to the Gunners.

For their part, Arsenal turned their attention to Gyokeres after baulking at RB Leipzig's price tag - plus agent fees - for Benjamin Sesko, who had been Mikel Arteta's No.1 choice to be his new No.9.

But sporting director Andrea Berta has always preferred the Swede, has pushed to get the deal done and has negotiated in good faith with Sporting, even when things have turned nasty between the player and his current club.
Gyokeres refused to report for Sporting when he was meant to return for pre-season training on Saturday, the latest stage in an ugly stand-off with president club Frederico Varandas. But finally he is set to get his move, having agreed a five year deal with the Gunners.

Arsenal have agreed terms on a move worth £55m up front with a further £8.6m in guaranteed add-ons, ensuring a deal worth £63.6m.
Sporting had been demanding upwards of £70m but the player's agent has waived the 10 percent of any fee he would've been owed to ensure the move can finally go ahead.
Gyokeres is now all set to move this week to North London, as the club's summer strengthening continues, designed to finally give them the Premier League crown they so desperately crave.
Spain midfielder Martin Zubimendi, Brentford captain Christian Norgaard and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga have already signed for a combined £71m. Chelsea and England winger Noni Madueke is also arriving for £52m to add further adding thrust from out wide, with Gyokeres finally giving Arteta the out-and-out striker he has been so keen to add.

Transfer latest: Arsenal agree £16.5m deal for Mosquera, Wolves poised to sign Arias

Arsenal are hoping to complete the signing of Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia this week in a deal that could take their summer spending past £200m. Negotiations with Valencia over the 21-year-old defender have been ongoing since an initial offer of £14m including bonuses was rejected this month. It is understood an agreement has been struck for Arsenal to pay an initial £13m plus up to £3.5m in bonuses. Mikel Arteta's squad are due to fly to Singapore for the first leg of their Asian tour on Saturday and there is a chance that Mosquera – who represented Spain at this summer's European Under-21 Championship but is also eligible to play for Colombia – could complete his move in time to join his new teammates. Mosquera was identified as Arsenal's main target to provide competition for William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães after establishing himself as a first choice for Valencia over the past two seasons. His deal means Arsenal have committed to spending potentially more than £200m on players since March's appointment of the sporting director, Andrea Berta. They are also poised to announce the signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea for up to £52m and have agreed a deal with Sporting for Viktor Gyökeres, with the total package for the Sweden striker potentially worth £64m. Arsenal have confirmed the arrivals of Martín Zubimendi from Real Sociedad for about £55m, Christian Nørgaard from Brentford for up to £12m and Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea for £5m. They remain interested in Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace but have yet to make an official approach for the England forward, who has a £67.5m release clause. It is understood Arsenal are hoping to offload some fringe players as Arteta continues to shape his squad, with Leandro Trossard attracting interest from Bayern Munich and Fenerbahce. Jakub Kiwior – who deputised for the injured Gabriel at the end of last season but could find himself down the pecking order given Mosquera's arrival – Fábio Vieira, Reiss Nelson and Oleksandr Zinchenko are among others facing uncertain futures. Wolves are poised to sign one of the stars of the Club World Cup in Fluminense's Jhon Arias. The Colombian winger, who impressed as the Brazilian club exited in the semi-finals to the eventual winners Chelsea, will cost about £15m. Arias will boost Vítor Pereira's attacking ranks after the £62.5m departure of Matheus Cunha and is in line to become Wolves' second summer signing after the £19.5m arrival of Fer López from Celta Vigo. Jørgen Strand Larsen, who scored 14 Premier League goals last season, has also signed from Vigo after his loan move was made permanent.

What Trabzonspor have offered Rangers for John Souttar transfer as lowball test 'revealed'

The defender is into the final year of his contract at Ibrox with little progress being made over a potential extension Trabzonspor are ramping up their interest in Rangers centre back John Souttar - and are said to have tested the waters with a lowball offer. The 28-year-old made just 17 Premiership appearances last season due to a recurrence of injuries and has only just returned to training after undergoing surgery for a hernia problem in the wake of Scotland 's friendly double header against Iceland and Liechtenstein last month. ‌ Souttar has just a year remaining on his contract at Ibrox, with talks over a new deal appearing to stall. ‌ Reported interest from Trabzonspor in the former Dundee United and Hearts defender emerged on Sunday and now Turkish outlet YS TV claim to have knowledge of the deal offered to Gers. They report that a bid of €1.5million (£1.2million) has been launched for Souttar, who has made 86 appearances for the Light Blues since his arrival in January 2022. Should Rangers fail to tie the centre back down to a new deal, then he will be free to speak to other clubs with the option of penning a pre-contract agreement from January onwards. Russell Martin has already bolstered his defensive options in Govan with the loan arrivals of Max Aarons and Nasser Djiga from Premier League duo Bournemouth and Wolves respectively and the £3.5million signing of Peterborough star Emmanuel Fernandez. He is also set to land England international Conor Coady, who is in advanced talks over a move from Leicester City. New sporting director Kevin Thelwell has also been busy revamping Rangers midfield, with Joe Rothwell arriving on a free transfer from Bournemouth and Norway international Thelo Aasgaard joining the club for £3.5million from Luton Town. ‌ Their signings were preceded by the capture of Lyall Cameron, who was snapped up on a pre-contract agreement by Phillippe Clement back in February just weeks before the Belgian got the sack. Brentford eyeing up former Chelsea prospect as Bryan Mbeumo replacement

Brentford are preparing for life without Bryan Mbeumo, eyeing up Ipswich Town star Omari Hutchinson as a potential replacement. Manchester United's pursuit of Mbeumo is proving to be one of the transfer sagas of the summer, with the Bees rejecting two bids from the Red Devils so far. The Cameroon international remains Manchester United's top transfer target and negotiations continue, but they are dragging on. Brentford are planning for what they will do if Mbeumo does leave, though, and are looking to a Championship player as a possible replacement. Hutchinson made his professional debut with Chelsea in January 2023 but only ever managed two appearances for the Blues. He was loaned to Ipswich for the 2023-24 season which went very well as the Tractor Boys were promoted from the Championship, with the youngster making 50 appearances in all competitions, scoring 11 goals. A permanent deal was struck last summer and Hutchinson made 32 appearances over the last campaign, which ended in Ipswich being relegated back to the second tier. Still just 21 years old, Hutchinson remains highly rated and Brentford are interested in giving him another shot at the Premier League. His reputation was further enhanced as a regular for England on their way to winning the European Under-21 Championship this summer. Hutchinson started and scored in the final, which saw Lee Carsley's side beat Germany 3-2. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that he is on Brentford's shopping list if they do need to replace Mbeumo, but how much he will cost is not clear. The youngster signed a five-year contract with Ipswich when he arrived last year in a £20m deal and the Championship side would hope to make a profit on that amount. Brentford are open to selling Mbeumo, but want at least £65m for the forward, which Manchester United are yet to offer. The best bid the Red Devils have put forward so far was worth an initial £55m plus £7.5m in add-ons. More Trending It is not exactly far away, but the Old Trafford giants are yet to come back with an improved bid to satisfy the Bees. There is some time pressure on Manchester United to get the deal done as there is also interest in Brentford's other star forward, Yoana Wissa. The likes of Newcastle, Tottenham and Nottingham Forest are all keen on Wissa, but Brentford would not sell both, so if he leaves before Mbeumo then Manchester United's hopes will likely be dashed.
