PSP emulator PPSSPP just made online multiplayer easy for these games

PSP emulator PPSSPP is one of the most impressive emulators out there, with more than a decade of steady updates and improvements. Yesterday, the emulator received its first update of 2025 in version 1.19, and it's got some exciting new features and fixes for popular games.
Audio nerds will be happy to learn that the upgrade brings a completely re-engineered music player. Sony used a proprietary format called ATRAC3+ on the PSP, and PPSSPP dev Henrik Rydgård admits the previous way these files were handled was 'mostly based on guesswork and vibes.' It's now been fully reworked, fixing longstanding audio issues in games like Flatout.
The other major change concerns online multiplayer. Previous versions of PPSSPP supported both local and online multiplayer, but it required manually connecting to community-run game servers. Certain PPSSPP forks enhanced this by automatically configuring DNS settings on a per-game basis, and this has now been brought into the official version of the app.
PPSSPP will now connect to community servers automatically for easy online multiplayer.
Several community servers are supported, including those from PS Rewired, Openspy, The Antigravity Racing Foundation, and Medal of Honor: Heroes Online Revival Project. That covers games like Field Commander, Siphon Filter: Omega Strain, Marvel Legends, Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, WipEout Pulse, and, of course, Medal of Honor: Heroes.
Update 1.19 has many more changes and bugfixes, including specific fixes that make Persona 1/2, Jak'n'Daxter, Motorstorm, and Outrun run more smoothly. Check out the full patch notes to learn more.
You can download the update now on all platforms, including the official Google Play listing. However, the dev notes that there's a small bug with certain PBP files, and a small update will be released in the next week or so to fix it.

Hall reprises his role as the serial killer who hunts other serial killers. In 'Resurrection,' Dexter meets a secret society of serial killers led by a character played by Peter Dinklage. David Zayas continues his role of detective Angel Batista from the original. It premieres Friday, July 11. — The cast of 'Love Island USA' was so popular, they've got their own spin-off called 'Love Island: Beyond the Villa." The show follows six of the core cast living in LA as they adjust to the limelight and attempt to maintain their relationships. It debuts Sunday, July 13, on Peacock. — MGM+ has an adaptation of Stephen King's 2019 novel 'The Institute.' It's about a teenage boy named Luke — with an exceptionally high intellect — who wakes up a strange, unknown facility run by the government that imprisons kids with unique abilities. The sci-fi horror series is eight-episodes and stars Ben Barnes and Mary-Louise Parker. It premieres Sunday, July 13. — Alicia Rancilio New video games to play from July 7-13 — What's in the works for EA Sports' College Football 26? Dozens of new mascots! ‘Love Island USA' Cast Members Don't Know Why Someone Gets Kicked Out of Villa, Alum Says
It turns out that the Love Island USA islanders are just as in the dark as viewers when a cast member is unexpectedly kicked off. Deb Chubb, a finalist on season 4 of Love Island USA in 2022, fielded fan questions about hasty on-air departures via TikTok on Friday, June 6. 'When someone 'mysteriously disappears' off our screens, do they tell the islanders?' a social media user asked via TikTok comment. 'Do they tell the islanders what [really] happened?' Deb, 29, responded in a follow-up video, claiming that she was never informed about the reasons behind unexpected show exits. (After Deb recoupled with Kyle Fraser during the Casa Amor twist, he was quickly removed over unfounded misconduct allegations that he never publicly addressed. Show hosts, instead, said that Kyle left for 'personal reasons.') 'Love Island USA' Couples Status Check: Who's Still Together, Who Broke Up After Leaving the Villa? 'The producers do not tell you why,' Deb said. 'The person just literally [and] mysteriously disappears. You know, in past seasons, if somebody wants to leave on their own accord, they sit everybody down at the firepit. They say, 'I'm leaving. This is my last night' [and] they have a big speech.' She added, 'If they don't do that, it means that something came out in real time, and that's why that person had to leave.' Love Island's Most Controversial Contestants and Moments Throughout the Years 'When it happened to me, I knew it was for something bad,' Deb speculated. 'If it wasn't for something bad, then he would have sat us all down.' During the most recent season, Yulissa Escobar was similarly removed from the villa without word or warning after racist comments she made resurfaced. Show narrator Iain Stirling simply noted that Yulissa, 27, had to leave, but didn't give a reason why. She has since apologized for her past remarks. "First, I want to apologize for using a word I had no right using,' Yulissa wrote in a social media statement. 'Podcast clips from years ago have recently resurfaced, and I want to address it directly. In those clips, I used a word I never should've used, a racial slur. I used it ignorantly, not fully understanding the weight, history, or pain behind it. I wasn't trying to be offensive or harmful, but I recognize now that intention doesn't excuse impact. And the impact of that word is real. It's tied to generations of trauma, and it is not mine to use.' She added, 'The truth is, I didn't know better then, but I do now. I've taken the time to reflect, to learn, and to grow from that moment. I've changed a lot since then, not just in how I speak, but in how I show up, how I carry myself, and how I honor the experiences of others. Growth means recognizing when you were wrong, even if it's uncomfortable, and choosing to move forward with humility and accountability.' New episodes of Love Island USA will be released six days a week — except for Wednesdays — on Peacock.
