Usman Khan was the aggressor in the stand, smashing 61 off 40 deliveries. Brief contributions from Michael Bracewell (9), Iftikhar Ahmed (10), and Chris Jordan (6* off 5) pushed the total to a competitive score. Among the bowlers, Meredith (1/33), Holder (1/25), and Shadab (1/29) chipped in for United.
In response, Islamabad got off to a brisk start with Sahibzada Farhan hammering 22 off 13 balls before falling early. Gous then took charge, dispatching the bowlers to all parts of the ground. His 45-ball blitz included 5 fours and 4 sixes. Colin Munro added 45 off 28 to keep the pressure on, while Mohammad Nawaz contributed a handy 21.
Multan's bowlers couldn't find answers to United's fluent chase. Gous remained unbeaten as Islamabad finished on 171/3 with 17 balls to spare.
The win adds vital momentum to Islamabad United's campaign, while Multan Sultans will look to regroup quickly after another missed opportunity.

Handshake denied! Washington Sundar cold-shoulders Harry Brook, video goes viral
Washington Sundar and Harry Brook (AFP Photo) NEW DELHI: India held firm to secure a hard-fought draw against England in the fourth Test, batting for 143 overs in their second innings at Old Trafford. Ravindra Jadeja scored his fifth Test century, while Washington Sundar brought up his maiden hundred, as the pair stitched together an unbeaten 203-run stand for the fifth wicket—rescuing India from a massive 311-run first-innings deficit. England had earlier piled on 669 runs in their first innings, responding emphatically to India's 358. The visitors' second innings began in disarray, with Chris Woakes removing openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan for ducks, leaving India reeling at 0/2. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Shubman Gill and KL Rahul steadied the innings with a vital 188-run partnership for the third wicket. Gill notched up a century, while Rahul fell agonisingly short on 90. Jadeja and Sundar then took over, blunting England's attack with a patient and determined approach. In a dramatic twist late in the day, England skipper Ben Stokes offered to shake hands and end the match early, but the Indian pair—both approaching personal milestones—declined. Ben Stokes press conference: On handshake controversy, India fightback, his own fitness Jadeja brought up his hundred in style with a six off Harry Brook . During the celebrations, Brook walked up to Sundar and offered another handshake, but Sundar brushed it off and continued towards his partner. WATCH: Just 15 balls later, Sundar reached his maiden Test century, also off Brook's bowling. With both batters having achieved their landmarks, the teams finally shook hands, concluding the Test in a draw. The result keeps England ahead 2-1 in the five-match series, with the final Test set to begin on July 31 at The Oval in London. IPL 2026: Nitish Kumar Reddy Breaks Silence On His Future With Sunrisers Hyderabad Amid Trade Rumours
India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has broken silence on his future with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) amid the trade rumours. According to a report from India Today, Nitish had expressed his desire to leave SRH over his role in the team, especially after being pushed down the batting order. However, the 22-year-old all-rounder on Sunday took to social media to issue clarification, saying that he will always stand by his current IPL team. "I tend to stay away from the noise, but some things deserve clarity. My connection with SRH is built on trust, respect, and years of shared passion. I'll always stand by this team," wrote Reddy on his 'X' account. Ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction, Visakhapatnam-based Reddy was retained by SRH at Rs six crore. It came after Reddy amassed 303 runs in 13 matches and also took three wickets in IPL 2024, which paved his way for selection into India T20I and Test teams. But Reddy failed to repeat his heroics in IPL 2025 - scoring only 182 runs in 13 games and didn't bowl a lot of overs due to his recovery from a side strain which kept him out of action after the first T20I against England earlier this year.
