F1 Driver Standings for 2025
Oscar Piastri's McLaren teammate, Lando Norris, has secured only one race win this year but still holds the number two spot in the F1 Driver Standings. At the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on Sunday, Norris managed to surpass Piastri and secure second place on the podium, pushing Piastri to the third spot. As a result, Norris now trails Piastri by only a small margin in the Driver Standings with 133 points.
Max Verstappen claimed his second race win of the season on Sunday but remains in third place overall with 124 points.
One more win for Verstappen could be enough to overtake Norris and move into second position in the Driver Standings.
Speaking about Sunday's race, Norris told news.com, 'Max drove a good race today. We had a good little battle at the end between Oscar and myself, which is always tense, but always good fun. For us as a team, second and third is great. Of course you'd love to be up there fighting against Max, but they were too good for us today.'
Mercedes driver George Russell continues to hold fourth place in the Driver Standings with 99 points, while Ferrari's Charles Leclerc remains in fifth position with 61 points.
Lewis Hamilton's climb to fourth place after starting from 12th position at the Imola race has moved him up to sixth place in the Driver Standings with 53 points. He was previously behind Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli, who was unable to finish the Imola race and was pushed down to seventh place with 48 points.

Alexander Albon of Williams also delivered an impressive performance, finishing fifth at the Imola race on Sunday. He now occupies the eighth spot in the Driver Standings with 40 points. Belgium GP 2025: Verstappen assures Red Bull he will always deliver
Max Verstappen said Red Bull could always count on him, as the four-times Formula One champion gave new team boss Laurent Mekies a winning start in a Saturday sprint at the Belgian Grand Prix. The race was the first since Christian Horner, who led Red Bull into Formula One in 2005, was dismissed by the team's owners. Verstappen seized the lead on the opening lap from second at the start and kept McLaren's Oscar Piastri behind him to secure his and the team's first win of any sort since Imola in May. While worth only eight points, the victory was a significant statement after the recent restructure at the Milton Keynes factory. 'The team can always count on me. They will always get my very best, whoever is in charge. They know that. I'm never holding back or anything,' Verstappen told reporters. 'I'm always trying to give them the best possible result, and that's also what they pay me for. For sure, it's positive. We need, of course, positive energy, and that's a great start for us.' Verstappen said it was too early to talk about further changes to be made at Red Bull and Mekies needed to build relationships and see how the team operated. 'Then at one point, you come to conclusions and maybe you want to change something, and this is something that will happen over the coming weeks, months,' he said. 'So, it's really early days, but so far, he's very keen and very motivated, and that's exactly what you want also. I got on very well with him. So, yeah, it's been a very good start.'
