Uorfi Javed Recalls Starving Herself To Look Thin: 'I Was Mentally F****d, Always Cranky'
Uorfi Javed reveals she struggled with body dysmorphia and starved herself to look skinny. In a candid chat, she admits to surviving on 3–4 chicken pieces a day.
Known for her bold fashion choices and unapologetic public persona, Uorfi Javed recently revealed a deeply personal chapter from her past — one marked by body dysmorphia and harmful eating habits. In a candid conversation with Anshula Kapoor on her YouTube show Bunkk with Uorfi, the actress and social media star spoke about her experience with distorted body image and the impact it had on her physical and mental well-being.
'I developed body dysmorphia 3–4 years ago," Uorfi shared, opening up with unflinching honesty. 'I was starving. I stopped eating. I just wanted to be this really skinny person — like extremely skinny — so I just stopped eating. I would eat 3–4 chicken pieces a day and not even work out. I would just run."
Her relentless pursuit of a certain body type came at a steep emotional cost. 'Mentally, I was f**ked. I was always cranky, I was always annoyed. If anyone spoke to me, I would be like, 'Why are you talking to me?'" she admitted.
Fortunately, Uorfi says she's now in a much healthier place. 'Recently, I have started going to the gym. I've started lifting weights. I've started eating well. Now I don't care about being skinny," she added, embracing a shift in mindset toward strength and self-acceptance.
The two also reflected on their time on the reality series The Traitors. Anshula recalled how Uorfi initially resisted indulging in sweets on set, only to do a complete 180. 'On the first couple of days, Uorfi would just smell the desserts, but by the third day onwards, she was like, 'I only want to eat desserts,'" Anshula said with a laugh. Uorfi admitted she was 'stress eating" during the shoot and eventually surrendered to her cravings, saying she ended up eating all the desserts available.
Despite the highs and lows, Uorfi's resilience ultimately paid off. She emerged as one of the winners of The Traitors, sharing the victory with poker player Nikita Luther. Anshula Kapoor, who was also a contestant on the show, was eliminated in the eighth episode during the 'Circle of Shaq" segment.

Arijit Singh charges Rs 2 crore for a performance, would once come and sit in my office for hours, says Monty Sharma: ‘Audio companies are making mad money'
There was a time when Arijit Singh was not a known face. During those days, he would spend hours at music director Monty Sharma's office. Now, with him lending his voice to almost every film that is being made in the Hindi film industry, he charges upto Rs 2 crore per performance. In a recent interview, Monty Sharma shared details about how music composers and singers earn today compared to the older times when an entire song used to be made within Rs 2 lakh budget. In a conversation with Lallantop, Monty Sharma revealed, 'Everything has evolved over a period of time. Earlier, we used to make a complete song in Rs 2 lakh. This included an entire orchestra–which included 40 violins and a lot of other things. Eventually, when I created a brand name for myself after a couple of my works did well, I started to charge Rs 35,000 per song–irrespective of the other expenses included to make a song.' Monty shared your brand decides your worth. Explaining his theory, Monty Sharma claimed, 'There was a time when Arijit (Singh) used to come sit next to me for hours without taking any break or eating food. In today's time, he charges Rs 2 crore per performance. People have to pay him Rs 2 crore if they want him to perform for them.' He said unlike the old times when radios and television were the only means of communication, the introduction of several social media platforms brought a boost in the revenue. ALSO READ | Prithviraj Sukumaran's wife Supriya Menon exposes troll who has been harassing her since 2018: 'I let it be as she has a young son' 'Audio rights were sold for crores even then but people heard those songs only through radio and television,' shared Monty Sharma. He explained, 'Today, with so many social media platforms, the exposure is more and the money is humungous. Now, the price for these songs are beyond imagination. A composer might charge Rs 20 lakh per song, but in turn he is giving away 90% of the song rights to the audio company.' He claimed the only people making the most of this opportunity are the audio companies. 'They are making mad money. It is because there are so many aspects to it–spotify, YouTube. Imagine the kind of revenue they are generating.' Despite all the evolution in the world of music, the earnings of a music composer stays limited, according to the Black composer. 'Because it is the singers who are the face and voice of the song, it is them who earn the most. All these new singers charge Rs 1 to Rs 2 crore for their work.' Monty shared that artistes today are not just limited to receiving royalty for their work, but reality shows have opened many more doors for a steady income. He shared, 'Back in my days, when I was part of the reality show, 'Voice of India', I used to charge Rs 7.5 lakh per day. Now, there is no cap to it. There is big money. Reality shows make big money for mentors. Shows bring lot of money to singers.' Amid all these claims, Monty admitted that not all are lucky to get that kind of exposure. Many in the industry are still struggling. 'Their work is misunderstood. Producers ko samajh hi nahi aata unka kaam.'

Sanjay Dutt's Best Friend, Director Of Tridev And Mohra, Fired Actor From Film: 'He Needed Rehab'
Rajiv Rai says letting go of Sanjay Dutt during Yudh was painful but necessary and believes the move helped the actor start his recovery. Director Rajiv Rai has opened up about one of the most difficult decisions of his career – letting go of Sanjay Dutt from his film Yudh. Speaking in a recent interview, the filmmaker shared that the two were once extremely close, but their relationship was tested when Dutt's drug problems began to affect the film's progress. Rai said he had already filmed 14 reels with Dutt and described those working days as the best of his life. 'In my heart of hearts, he's still my best friend. I can never forget those days, because they were the best days of my life." At the time, Sanjay was struggling with substance use and was eventually sent to rehab in Florida. Rai said he had spoken to Sanjay's father, actor and politician Sunil Dutt, about the situation. 'Sanju was not well. He needed rehab in Florida. I spoke to his father and told him to get him out of this… Whatever this is… I was very concerned." Despite their deep personal ties, Rai said that he made the decision based on what he believed was best for both Sanjay and the film. 'If I had not taken this drastic step then, he wouldn't have made the changes in his life. I had to forgo my friendship with him." Sunil Dutt had asked Rai and his father, producer Gulshan Rai, to give Sanjay another chance. But the team decided not to delay the project. 'He'd keep requesting me to give him another chance. He was very upset about the situation as well. But I told him that he needs the electric shock." Rai added that he didn't hold anything against Sanjay and still speaks about that period with emotion. 'Things didn't work out professionally between me and Sanju, and it was for his own good. He may love me for it or hate me for it, but I don't know, because we've never spoken about it… I have nothing bad to say about it." While their professional relationship didn't continue after Yudh, Rai's decision might have played a small role in pushing Dutt toward recovery. Though Sanjay faced many more challenges later – including legal battles and a cancer diagnosis – he returned to the industry and rebuilt his career. The India and Mumbai Indians allrounder expressed his love for the little one, who turns five. Pandya called Agastya 'my angel who inspires me" and emphasised what the cute child means to him as a father. 'My angel who inspires me to be a better person every day! I love you more than you'll ever know and I'm grateful for moments like these where nothing else matters. Happy birthday to my boy who changed my life, my blessing, and my partner in crime," Pandya wrote. In the clip, Pandya can be seen holding Agastya in his arms and telling him, 'you are my angel", before giving him a lesson on the importance of mic. 'See, whenever you see mic, (you say) mic-testing one-two, one-two," Pandya says while planting a kiss on his kid's forehead. Pandya then tells Agastya how the mic works. 'Because if you don't put this hear (on the chest), the camera will not get any sound. If I say something from here (mic held near the mouth), they can hear it. But if I put the mic there (far), they can't hear it." Pandya is currently enjoying a break from cricket duties since the end of the IPL 2025. He is expected to be back in action next month when the Asia Cup 2025 gets underway in the UAE. The 31-year-old is a regular in white-ball cricket for India. Pandya played crucial roles in the team's two back-to-back title triumphs in ICC events as they won Champions Trophy earlier this year and the T20 World Cup in 2024. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
