
Melaka APM volunteer dies in tragic road accident
The incident occurred near the Dusun Dato' Murad Prison.
Melaka Tengah police chief ACP Christopher Patit confirmed that the victim, identified as Akmal Aniq Mohamed Ariff, 22, succumbed to internal injuries while receiving treatment at Melaka Hospital. The accident took place around 12.45 pm.
Initial investigations revealed that a 41-year-old man driving a Toyota Innova MPV was heading from Ayer Keroh towards the Muzaffar Shah traffic lights when the collision occurred on a slip road.
The victim, an APM volunteer based in Ayer Keroh and residing in Taman Semabok Perdana, was pronounced dead at approximately 3.40 pm.
The MPV involved in the accident has been sent to a Puspakom inspection centre for further examination.
Authorities are handling the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which pertains to reckless driving. - Bernama

'The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,' he said in a media statement here on Monday. Noraidin urged members of the public who have any information related to the incident to contact the Tuaran District Police Headquarters Traffic Investigation Officer, Inspector Haffiz, at 011-61600964, or to come forward at any nearby police station. Ahmad Zahid offers condolences to family of six in Kedah tragedy
KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has extended his condolences to the relatives of a family of six who were discovered deceased in a submerged car in Sungai Korok, near Jitra, Kedah. Ahmad Zahid described the incident as deeply distressing, particularly as it involved young children. 'I was heartbroken when I heard the news about the tragedy that befell a family of six who were found in a submerged vehicle in Sungai Korok, Alor Setar this morning,' he said in a Facebook post. He urged the bereaved family to remain strong and called for prayers for the departed souls. The Deputy Prime Minister also commended the efforts of emergency responders, including the fire brigade, police, and the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), in handling the search and recovery operations.
