Al Ain marks World Badminton Day with countdown event to Masters
9 July 2025 00:39 AL AIN (ALETIHAD)The UAE marked World Badminton Day with the launch of the Al Ain Masters Community Tour, bringing the global celebration to the oasis city for the first at the Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, the event drew over 290 participants of all ages and abilities in a festive display of sport and community marked the fourth consecutive celebration of World Badminton Day in the UAE, previously hosted in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain edition also served as the official countdown to the Al Ain Masters 2025, with 81 days to go for the World Tour Super 100 tournament. The governing body Badminton World Federation allotted the dates from September 30 to October 5 for the event, which will host 250 players from 55 the community tour launch aligns with the UAE federation's grassroots strategy to widen participation and discover emerging talent. 'This is more than a celebration – it's a movement to make badminton a sport for all,' said UAE Badminton Federation President Noura Al Jasmi.
