Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), in partnership with The Knowledge Society (TKS), announced the graduation of the first cohort from the TKS Dubai Program.
The ceremony was held at the Museum of the Future. It showcased innovations in artificial intelligence, robotics, space technology, synthetic biology, and climate solutions. These projects reflected how youth are not only preparing for the future but actively building it.
The global initiative runs in over 450 cities and equips students aged 13 to 17 with skills to become future scientists, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
DFF reported that 90 students from over 60 schools completed the 10-month program. They worked on innovative solutions to global challenges using advanced technologies. The initiative supports Dubai's vision of becoming a global hub for innovation and talent development.
The program simulated a fast-paced environment similar to leading tech companies. It also connected young Emirati innovators to a global network of mentors and experts.
Graduates presented projects such as: Wearable tech for AI-powered disease detection
Digital brain twins for personalized neurological care
Urban heat-to-electricity systems
Quantum simulations for cancer treatment
Clean energy platforms using waste transformation
DFF revealed that students had opportunities to present their work to global tech firms and potential investors.
Abdulaziz AlJaziri, Deputy CEO and COO at DFF, stated that empowering young innovators is key to Dubai's future. He emphasized DFF's commitment to nurturing emerging talent through specialized programs and global exposure.
Navid Nathoo, CEO of TKS, added that the partnership aims to build the region's most ambitious youth ecosystem. He said Dubai is becoming a hub where young innovators drive global change.
Since its launch in 2016, the TKS Innovation Program has trained over 4,500 students worldwide. Their ventures have a combined valuation of more than $250 million.
The curriculum draws from content created with experts from Harvard, Stanford, and MIT. It mirrors the culture of leading tech communities and supports admissions into top universities.
In Dubai, the program provides guidance from more than 350 mentors across 40 sectors. These include clean energy, quantum computing, neurotechnology, and human-robot interaction.

The collaboration aims to equip Emirati students with future-ready skills in artificial intelligence (AI) and big data technologies. The agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony held at the HCT campus, reinforcing both institutions' commitment to nurturing local talent and supporting the UAE's transformation into a knowledge-based economy. This initiative aligns with the UAE Year of Community and the nation's broader goals to accelerate innovation, empower youth, and foster impactful partnerships between academia and technology leaders. At the heart of this collaboration is the integration of DigiXT, UAE-developed enterprise-grade AI and big data platform, into HCT's academic programs. This will offer students hands-on learning experiences with real-world applications of AI and data analytics. Through this platform, students will develop practical expertise that enhances their employability, while industry partners benefit from a skilled pipeline of graduates proficient in cutting-edge technologies. His Excellency Dr. Faisal Alayyan, President and CEO of HCT, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating: 'This initiative marks a transformative milestone in our educational journey. By embedding AI into our curricula, we are equipping Emirati youth with the future-focused skills needed to lead in a digital economy. Our partnership with ensures students gain both technical competencies and the innovative mindset to become agile problem-solvers and drivers of national progress.' It also reinforces HCT's role in delivering high-impact academic experiences that prepare Emirati students for the demands of an evolving global workforce. More broadly, the collaboration supports the UAE's national educational agenda and the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, which aims to position the country as a global AI leader. The strategy envisions integrating AI across sectors such as education, space, technology, energy, and transportation. Further demonstrating this commitment, the UAE will introduce AI across government school curricula, from kindergarten through Grade 12, beginning next academic year. This nationwide initiative is part of a long-term strategy to prepare future generations for the digital era. Globally, the AI industry is projected to reach a market value of USD 15.7 trillion by 2030. For the UAE, AI adoption is expected to boost GDP by 35 percent (USD 96 billion) and reduce government spending by nearly USD 3 billion through greater efficiency. This partnership represents a key milestone in aligning education with national priorities and empowering the next generation of Emirati innovators and leaders.

As part of the Abu Dhabi SME Champions Program, Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development has witnessed a significant growth in the number of deals forged between SMEs and leading public and private institutions, achieving a total of 652 deals by 2024, with a total value of AED 672 million, across various key sectors such as IT, consultancy, advertising and event management. The initiative was launched in 2023 by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development to increase the share of procurement opportunities allocated to SMEs by major private companies as well as government entities and institutions. As a result, the number of registered companies grew from 835 in 2023 to 2,235 in 2024, with the strategic partner count increasing to 20. Since its inception, the programme has been focused on supporting and encouraging SMEs to participate in supply chain opportunities, by providing them with a robust platform for business development. The initiative has created new pathways for these companies to play an active role in private sector projects, thus enhancing their contribution to GDP growth, diversifying economic resources and fostering innovation within Abu Dhabi, in line with the UAE's vision for a more sustainable and diverse economy. The programme features awareness initiatives to educate SMEs on the benefits of forging strategic alliances with both government and private sector entities. It also supports efforts to classify companies, develop their skills and strengthen collaboration and partnership pathways through relevant projects. Micro-enterprises now represent over half of the registered companies, with approximately 20 per cent of them being eligible for deals with leading institutions across both public and private sectors.
