Sports fans across the globe recreate THAT awkward Coldplay concert kiss cam scandal - as others look to similar mishaps caught by celebrities' on camera
Andrew Byron, the head of the AI startup Astronomer, was broadcast on the big screen at Boston's Gillette Stadium with his arm around the company's HR chief, Kristin Cabot, during the band's gig earlier this month.
The pair rapidly covered their faces, with Andrew diving out of view and Kristin turning her back to the camera.
But despite their efforts to avoid the limelight, their apparent awkwardness caught the attention of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. 'Oh look at these two!' the singer said mischievously as they spun around. 'Oh what? Either they're having an affair, or they're just very shy.'
Now, people are recreating the surprising moment on kiss cams in sports stadiums globally.
In one clip captured by Aubrey Lynn, who goes by @wonderquinn1372, a couple recreated Andy and Kristin's shocked expressions as the camera landed on them while enjoying a football game at America First Field in Utah.
Meanwhile, others have drawn attention to previous entertaining kiss cam moments that drew attention online.
From Olivia Rodrigo accidentally asking siblings to kiss and the 'My sister' meme to Michael Fassbender and his now-wife Alicia Vikander's very awkward refusal, there have been a fair share of memorable on-camera moments over the years.
America First Field recreation in Utah
Entertaining kiss cam footage from a football game in Utah took the internet by storm last week.
Multiple people took to TikTok to share footage of individuals mocking the events at the Coldplay concert.
In light of the drama, America First Field stadium renamed the kiss cam feature to 'Coldplay Cam'.
The first couple featured on the clip, posted by Aubrey Lynn, who goes by @wonderquinn1372, quickly ducked out of the camera, much to the delight of attendees.
Moments later, the mascots followed in the previous couple's footsteps and recreated their actions by quickly separating after being spotted by the camera.
Josie Cook, otherwise known as @josiem.cook, shared the clip to TikTok, which racked up thousands of views.
The Philadelphia Phillies
The Philadelphia Phillies had a laugh at the expense of the CEO and HR boss who caused a storm online after they were caught on camera cuddling at a Coldplay concert.
During their game against the Los Angeles Angels earlier this month, the Phillies broadcast their own kisscam on the huge screen at Citizens Bank Park.
Set to Coldplay's song 'Speed of Sound' - a huge hint at what was to come - the cameras managed to find some happy couples who shared a kiss.
The camera then cut to the team's two mascots, who were stood in the exact same pose as Byron and Cabot were when they appeared on camera at the concert.
Then, just as the red-faced duo did, one of them dived out of shot and the other turned their back in a desperate attempt to hide their identity.
The moment caused the entire Phillies stadium to burst out laughing but the fun didn't end there.
The jumbotron operator then found another fan somewhere in the crowd who had come prepared with his own take on the viral moment.
The male fan proudly held a sign aloft that read 'this is my wife', with the 'is' underlined for effect.
The fans burst out laughing once again and the man then kissed his wife to huge applause.
Olivia Rodrigo was left red-faced in November after a cheeky request she made of two fans at her sold-out Sydney concert hilariously backfired.
The US pop sensation, 22, was performing at Qudos Bank Arena when she asked two of her fans to kiss for the cameras.
However, she didn't realise the pair were actually brother and sister.
'You guys are so cute! I have a huge and fun favour to ask, would you guys give us a kiss on the Guts cam?' Olivia asked the siblings.
The pair then told Olivia they were not a couple - but in fact siblings, leading the singer to hold up her hands in shock.
'She's your sister! Oh s**t, never mind, scrap that! F**k, wow, that hasn't happened before,' an embarrassed Olivia screamed out, asking her crew to quickly cut the footage.
'This is the first time! Wow, I feel really bad now, we are going to forget that ever happened!' Olivia joked.
Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander refuse amid romance rumours
Michael Fassbender, 48, and Alicia Vikander, 36, refused to take part in a kiss cam segment during the EE BAFTA British Academy Film Awards in 2016
They are one of Hollywood's most fiercely private couples and back in 2016 it seemed they were not willing to showcase their relationship to the world just yet.
Michael Fassbender, 48, and Alicia Vikander, 36, refused to take part in a kiss cam segment during the EE BAFTA British Academy Film Awards that year - and the moment was so awkward it was cut from the BBC broadcast.
Fortunately, other A-list faces at the Royal Opera House in London were willing to take part in the comical skit - much to the relief of presenter Stephen Fry.
When the lens spun round to nominees Michael and Alicia, who only just started dating, the notoriously under-the-radar couple didn't play ball.
The tense moment was so embarrassing that the BBC decided to cut it from the television broadcast.
Debbie O'Donnell shared a picture of the actors - who failed to even look at one another - on Twitter with the caption, 'Loving the #EEBAFTAs Kiss Cam. Michael Fassbender having none of it @LancomeUK.'
'My sister' sign
University of Minnesota alumnus Adam Martin proved older brother knows best when he brought his sister to a Gophers hockey game in 2014.
Adam and his sister Maria were watching his alma mater play Michigan on Valentine's Day when they were hilariously caught on the kiss cam.
A couple of weeks before the game, Adam told Maria that they could be put on kiss cam considering the romantic holiday - but Maria scoffed at the chances they'd end up at the jumbo tron.
Still, Adam decided to play it safe and printed out a sign reading 'My sister' before heading over to the hockey arena.
So when the kiss cam started in the third period, Adam whipped out the piece of paper - before the camera flashed to them and he held it up.
Julianne Moore and Bryan Cranston's iconic stage snog
Julianne Moore and Bryan Cranston took things up a notch at the 2016 BAFTAs by sharing a very steamy 'snog'.
The moment began awkwardly as Bryan leaned in to kiss Julianne on the shoulder but missed as she turned around to face him.
The actors appeared to pretend whispering sweet nothings to each other before Bryan placed a hand to the camera to suggest it move away from the staged private moment.
Bryan then caressed Julianne's face with his hand and she wrapped her arm around him before they engaged in a passionate snog.
James Corden and Harry Styles' TV smooch
They've been friends for years, and are regularly seen out together.
But Harry Styles and James Corden revealed just how close they are back in 2013 - by kissing on a television show.
The One Direction star was seen sitting on the Gavin & Stacey comedian's knee, gently placing his hand on James's cheek as the pair enjoyed a hilarious embrace.
The kiss occurred as Harry and his former bandmates Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson appeared on hit Sky TV show A League Of Their Own, which James presented at the time.
During the episode, Harry left the audience in stitches as he walked over to James, sat on his knee and planted the smacker on his lips.
The ultimate revenge
It's rather common for partners be left embarrassed when their other half leaves them hanging as the Kiss Cam flashes to them.
But one woman refused to be left red-faced and decided to get revenge on her not-so-forthcoming partner.
The clip shows the woman tap her boyfriend to tell him the Kiss Cam is on them, but he proceeds to swig from his beer and look away.
Not the be left hanging, the woman turns to a supposed stranger sat next to her and suggests they kiss instead.
They both shrug as if to say 'why not' and go in for a smooch - leaving her boyfriend irritated before he storms off.
Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron's viral kiss
Before the release of smash hit High School Musical back in 2006, rumours quickly swirled about a romance between its lead stars.
Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron quickly made public appearances together upon its release but their romance was a drama-filled one.
After being together for four years, the pair were spotted on the Kiss Cam at the MTV Movie Awards in June 2010, in a moment that drove fans wild.
But their smooch was the beginning of the end, as just two months later Zac revealed he was questioning if he should be single and the pair had called it quits by December.
Double bag attack
One very uncomfortable moment on a Kiss Cam saw a woman get very irate with partner.
The Kiss Cam panned to them twice but the boyfriend seemed very uninterested in taking part, instead sipping his beer and shrugging.
The woman began smiling but appeared to get more angry as it became apparent he was rejecting her.
After a firm no from the man, the woman stands up, grabs her bag and whacks him with it - before returning to do it twice more.
Will Ferrell's embarrassed wife rejects him
The funnyman has been loved-up with his wife Viveca Paulin for 25 years and the pair share two children.
But Will Ferrell was almost left red-faced when he received a Kiss Cam rejection from Viveca back in 2015.
The couple were among the stars at the LA Kings arena when the Kiss Cam turned to them.
However Viveca appeared to be very embarrassed by the attention and placed a sweater in between hers and her husband's face to block the kiss.
She had a change of heart and turned to give her actor hubby a peck on the lips.
One-upping Bryan and Julianne at the 2026 BAFTAs, Rebel Wilson and Suzy Eddie Izzard decided to go full throttle.
The Australian star and British comedian wasted no time at all when the cameras panned to them in the theatre.
They both immediately stood up before embracing and wrapped their arms around one another.
But they shocked the audience members when it was revealed they were snogging for real, before appearing breathless as they parted ways in the dramatic moment.
Prepare to get swilled
In one particularly dramatic American Kiss Cam, a man was left with regrets after ignoring his partner.
When the camera panned to this couple, the man said he was on the phone and refused to kiss the woman.
This happened again and the woman lost her appearance, standing up in a rage.
She then picks up her huge cup of soda and proceeds to throw it over her stunned partner, before storming off.
Matthew Perry snogs Doris Roberts on stage at Golden Globes
Matthew Perry stunned Emmy audiences back in 2007 when he pulled winner Doris Roberts in for a kiss
Matthew Perry stunned Emmy audiences back in 2007 when he pulled winner Doris Roberts in for a kiss.
Presenting her with her award for Best Supporting Actress for a Comedy Series for Everyone Loves Raymond during The 55th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards at the The Shrine Theater in Los Angeles, Matthew planted one on Doris.
Asked about the kiss on The Ellen Show, Doris said: 'I sent him candy and I haven't heard from him.'
'Good kisser,' she added. 'But obviously a one night stand. I gave him the candy I thought that would do something... but it was a high honey. Oh, it was wonderful.'
Ran away with the mascot
In another case of a coincidental phone call, one woman was left red-faced when he partner was too busy to give her a smooch.
But the moment took a turn when the mascot appeared out of nowhere to approach the couple.
The mascot looks angry and pushes the man's head before pulling the woman out of her seat, taking her drink and pouring it over her boyfriend.
In a further turn of events, the mascot picks up the woman and whisks her away up the stairs.

Emily Blunt keeps a low profile as she leaves set of The Devil Wears Prada 2
Emily Blunt kept things casual as she was spotted leaving the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2 in New York City on Tuesday. The actress, 42, who is reprising her role of Emily Charlton from the first movie, tried to keep a low profile in a baby blue T-shirt tucked into a pair of jeans. Emily completed the look with a baseball cap, a pair of white trainers, a gold necklace, and a handbag. Emily portrayed the assistant of magazine editor Miranda Priestly, portrayed by Meryl Streep while Anne Hathaway starred as her junior assistant Andy Sachs. All three women are reprising their roles in the sequel alongside new cast members Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, BJ Novak, and Pauline Chalamet. In the sequel, Emily's character, Emily Charlton, has climbed the corporate ladder and now holds the power Miranda needs, setting the stage for a delicious clash of ambition, loyalty, and fashion politics. While plot details are still under wraps, sources suggest the film may draw inspiration from Lauren Weisberger's 2013 novel Revenge Wears Prada, which follows Andy's post-Runway life as she becomes a magazine editor, only to find Miranda crashing back into her world. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is slated to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, marking two decades since the original movie became a pop culture icon. The original movie lifted the lid on the cut-throat fashion world, and two decades on, that world will have changed, not least for Runway editor-in-chief Miranda, played by Meryl. The movie is expected to at least reveal her fate, showing her character dealing with the decline of print industry. One question is whether she will have retained her icy demeanor. In one scene in the first film, Andy chuckles through an editorial fashion meeting led by Priestly, who then delivers a cutting assessment of her 'cerulean' sweater. 'You think this has nothing to do with you,' Priestly tells her. The editor adds: 'You go to your closet, and you select, I don't know, that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back, but what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise, it's not lapis, it's actually cerulean.' The scene became iconic and spawned the 'cerulean blue' theory of how all styles trickle down from the catwalk. Anne's post went viral, with fans quoting Miranda's epic takedown of Andy's supposed fashion indifference. One said: 'She's wearing that cerulean blue!!!' Another confessed they felt 'like a kid waiting for Christmas for The Devil Wears Prada sequel'.

Benedict Cumberbatch says Hollywood is a ‘grossly wasteful industry'
Benedict Cumberbatch has called the Hollywood film industry 'grossly wasteful', taking particular issue with its squandering of resources in the aid of set building, lighting – and bulking up physiques for blockbusters. 'It's horrific eating beyond your appetite,' Cumberbatch told Ruth Rogers on her food-focused podcast, Ruthie's Table 4, adding that when he was shooting Marvel's Doctor Strange, he would eat five meals a day. In addition, he would snack on boiled eggs, almonds and cheese, in order to try to ingest enough protein to transform his body. 'Going back to responsibility and resourcefulness and sustainability, it's just like, 'What am I doing? I could feed a family with the amount I'm eating,'' Cumberbatch said. 'It's a grossly wasteful industry,' he continued. 'Think about set builds that aren't recycled, think about transport, think about food, think about housing, but also light and energy. The amount of wattage you need to create daylight and consistent light in a studio environment. It's a lot of energy.' Cumberbatch conceded that actors are frequently accused of hypocrisy when bemoaning the lack of sustainability in Hollywood, but said he does try to 'push the green initiative' on sets, in his capacity as both actor and producer. He cited single-use plastic as an example, saying: 'You don't have to give the crew plastic bottles. If you're in the middle of a desert and you can't get glass bottles there, fair enough. But we're in the 21st century.' Movies can emit on average between 391 metric tonnes for a small film and up to 3,370 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions for major blockbusters; the equivalent of powering 702 homes for a year. In 2021, the Producers Guild of America issued an industry-wide call for a transition to clean energy. 'Climate change is impacting our productions. Our health and safety, and filming locations are being irreparably damaged by increased pollution, wildfires, floods, storms, and droughts,' they wrote. 'The sustainability measures currently being taken in our industry are sporadic and wholly inadequate to meet the current level of threat.' The Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year, which killed 31 people and destroyed more than 16,000 structures across the city, refocused attention on the film and TV industry's engagement with efforts to curb its impact on the planet. Among celebrities whose homes were destroyed in the fires were Anthony Hopkins, Mel Gibson, Billy Crystal, Paris Hilton and Eugene Levy, while many – including Meryl Streep and the late David Lynch – were forced to make emergency evacuations. Some studios have made pledges to try to reduce their carbon footprint. The Walt Disney Company aims to 'purchase or produce 100% zero-carbon electricity' by 2030, according to its 2023 Sustainability and Social Impact report. Stars including Jane Fonda, Woody Harrelson and Julia Roberts have been outspoken champions of wider action on environmental issues, while Mark Rylance, Bill Nighy and Hayley Atwell were among those who supported the introduction of a 'green rider' to guarantee sustainability on set. Yet the enormous resources required to make most big budget films, as well as to promote and market them, mean Hollywood is an industry whose logistics and mindset are often at odds with prioritising the planet. Leonardo DiCaprio, Hollywood's most high-profile advocate for ecological awareness, established his self-titled foundation in 1998 to help 'restore balance to threatened ecosystems, ensuring the long-term health and wellbeing of all Earth's inhabitants'. But despite donating money to further these aims, and becoming involved in a number of plant-based companies, such as Beyond Meat and chickpea snack company Hippeas, the actor has been criticised for his conspicuous jet-setting. Last month, DiCaprio was photographed apparently attempting to hide his face while attending the much-criticised wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez in Venice.

Only Murders In The Building season five return date finally confirmed by Disney+ as Steve Martin, Selena Gomez and Martin Short reunite in first look pic
The Only Murders In The Building season five return date has finally been confirmed as Steve Martin, Selena Gomez and Martin Short reunite in a first look picture. The beloved crime show will be making its comeback to Disney+ on September 9, with ten brand new episodes, after the fourth series finished in October last year. The programme follows three neighbours, all with a keen interest in true crime podcasts, living in an upmarket apartment building in New York City. They begin investigating a series of suspicious murders in the so-called Arconia block of flats and make their own podcast about their discoveries. Three episodes of the upcoming fifth instalment will hit the streamer in the first instance, followed by one every week subsequently. And a first look image at the return of Steve, Selena and Martin's characters looking utterly shocked promises some exciting twists and turns are on the way. The plot of the new series will again follow their characters: the semi-retired, washed up actor Charles; young artist, apartment renovator and murder mystery enthusiast Mabel; and struggling Broadway director Oliver. After the building's much-loved doorman Lester (Teddy Coluca) mysteriously dies, the trio refuse to believe it could be an accident. They do what they do best and begin digging - gradually revealing a mysterious web of billionaires, mobsters and shady characters within the building itself. Michael Cyril Creighton will be back as their cat-lover neighbour and podcast assistant Howard, as will Meryl Streep as Oliver's wife Loretta. They will be joined by a legion of stellar guest stars, including Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Renee Zellweger, Christoph Waltz, Keegan Michael-Key and Dianne Wiest. Other huge stars set to make an appearance include Richard Kind, Nathan Lane, Bobby Cannavale, Logan Lerman, Tea Leoni, Beanie Feldstein and Jermaine Fowler. The series was co-created in 2021 by lead actor Steve and his writing partner John Hoffman - and has been a roaring success ever since. It comes after the fourth season saw the leads travel from their hometown of New York City to Hollywood to work on a movie about how their podcast was created. Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria and Zach Galifianakis played the detective trio in the movie within the most recent instalment. They were joined by some new faces such as Melissa McCarthy and Molly Shannon - while Kumail Nanjiani was also onboard. There was a murder to solve as well, of course, as every season involves a mystery the pals have to figure out. In that series, Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), who was Charles' stunt double, was killed. But the gang thought the murder was meant for Charles, not Sazz - and so the sleuths were determined to track down the killer. Series four of Only Murders in the Building premiered on August 27 last year. Unlike previous seasons, episodes aired on a weekly basis rather than all at once. 'New season. New case. Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez return for Season 4 of #OMITB. August 27. There was a murder to solve as well, of course, as every season involves a mystery the pals have to figure out 'Streaming on Hulu and with Hulu on Disney+ for Disney Bundle subscribers', it read on Hulu's Instagram page, the platform on which the show is aired in the US. In May last year, the first teaser was shared for the fourth series of Only Murders In The Building. It showed Selena, Steve and Martin stepping out of an elevator inside their apartment building, returning as their beloved trio of characters. Former Disney channel star Selena could be seen in a glittering, gold dress as she talked to her co-stars. 'So, what's next podcast wise?' she asked, with Martin replying with, 'What we need, is a, hot fresh, dead body. Preferably, right here or very near to here.' The scene then jumped to Jane's character's dead body, after her death at the very end of the third season. 'Somewhere lay a sniper's nest', Martin could be heard saying in a different scene. 'You know this is happening. We might as well just start', he told Steve. The clip then cut to Selena reading out a message she received on her phone. The trio was seen in Beverly Hills in a teaser shared in May last year 'I just got an email that a Hollywood studio wants to make a movie about our podcast.' Martin, who was sitting on the floor, excited stood up and exclaimed, 'The pictures? Pack your bags b****es! We are going to the movies!' Text on the screen appeared over different shots of Los Angeles and teased fans: 'Get ready for the starriest season yet.' A montage of Selena, Steve and Martin attempting to solve the murder mystery appeared during the trailer. In some mysterious moments, Selena was seen at one point looking through a dimly lit kitchen with her phone and a pig running down a hall. Another scene showed Steve calling out, 'Hello Hollywood!' while the trio stood through the sun roof of a sleek limo while being driven down a street lined with scenic palm trees as they ate fast food.
