Kingdom box office collection day 1 early report: Vijay Deverakonda starrer starts strong, but lags behind Liger
Kingdom box office collection day 1 early report: Vijay Deverakonda's highly anticipated spy-action drama Kingdom hit theatres worldwide on July 31. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film got off to a strong start, earning Rs 7.07 crore on its opening day. Kingdom recorded an overall occupancy of 56.73% in the Telugu language on Thursday, with morning shows at 63.56%, afternoon shows at 56.52%, and evening shows at 50.12%. The highest theatre occupancy was reported in the Warangal region, at an impressive 85.67%.' Despite earning Rs 7.07 crore at the box office so far, Kingdom may fall short of Vijay Deverakonda's highest opener, Liger, which collected Rs 15.95 crore on its first day. The film is also facing stiff competition from Mohit Suri's Saiyaara, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, which has already crossed the Rs 270 crore mark. Several other releases are crowding theatres as well, including Pawan Kalyan's Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 – Sword vs Spirit and Mahavatar Narsimha. Dhadak 2, starring Tripti Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Son of Sardaar 2 are also set to hit screens on August 1. ALSO READ | Kingdom movie review: Vijay Devarakonda bleeds and broods in this emotionally distant epic An excerpt from SCREEN's review of Kingdom read, 'Without a doubt, Kingdom is a product of the current filmmaking environment. It would be unfair to suggest that the makers of Kingdom have misled their audience all along, because the resulting film contains just what was advertised. However, despite the painstaking setup, Kingdom never truly tethers us emotionally to its story. Though the film juggles many elements, it never settles on a central thread to bring them into harmony.' Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and produced by Sithara Entertainments, Srikara Studios, and Fortune Four Cinemas, Kingdom also features Satyadev, Bhagyashri Borse, Venkitesh and Manish Chaudhari.

Kingdom Ending Explained: Why is Vijay Deverakonda's Suri infiltrating his brother's syndicate and what is his final destiny?
Disclaimer: This article contains spoilers. Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role, hit the big screens on July 31, 2025. The spy action drama is directed by Jersey fame Gowtam Tinnanuri with actors Satyadev and Bhagyshrii Borse as the co-leads. If you have watched the film in theaters and are wondering about its climax, here's an explainer that you need to read. Why is Vijay Deverakonda's Suri infiltrating his brother's syndicate? Kingdom is set in the late 1980s in Sri Lanka, where Suriya aka Suri (played by Vijay Deverakonda), a police constable, works diligently. Owing to his past, the policeman is unaware of where his elder brother is and searches for him. In his quest to find his long-lost brother, Suri is assigned to an undercover operation to infiltrate a crime syndicate. The twist comes in his life when it is revealed that his brother Siva (Satyadev) is part of the syndicate and does shady actions for its functioning. As Suri successfully becomes part of the syndicate, Siva learns about his brother's true intentions. Meanwhile, the syndicate's powerful don's son, Murugan, is crossed with Siva owing to his growth. After figuring out Suriya lied to him, Siva warns his brother and decides to leave him. At the same time, Murugan (Venkitesh VP) decides to seek revenge. Similar to Game of Thrones' Red Wedding, Murugan kills Siva and his entire family, consisting of an indigenous group of Telugu-speaking people in Sri Lanka. As soon as Suri learns about his brother's death, he rushes to their rescue but is too late. Now, a furious Suriya unleashes his full strength against his brother's killers, ending their lives, only for the indigenous group's leader to see a tattoo on his body. What does Suri's tattoo mean? See the tattoo, the group leader remembers the prophecy their tribe had for years. Taking us to the 1920s, the tribe called Divi was on the brink of collapse in a battle against a British invasion. In the final moment, the tribe's king sacrificed his life to protect his people, and it was prophesied that he would reincarnate once again. The king had a tattoo, the symbol of the group. The same tattoo was inscribed on Suriya by a fragile woman when he was a child, indicating he is the reincarnation of their king. After learning about the truth, Suri learns about his true destiny and symbolically becomes the king of his people, joining the ranks within his group. At the same time, a new threat awaits as Murugan's brother Sethu is planning his revenge, setting up the premise for the sequel.

Neeraj Pandey criticises AI-edited climax of 'Raanjhanaa' by producers; calls it 'utterly disrespectful'
Aanand L. Rai-directed 'Raanjhanaa,' starring Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor in the lead, is all set to re-release in Tamil Nadu with a different climax, edited using artificial intelligence. The producers, Eros International Media, reworked the movie and included a happy ending. The use of artificial intelligence to change a film's artistic integrity has sparked a heated debate about creative control and the future of cinema. Several filmmakers and writers slammed the move by the makers, and now, director Neeraj Pandey has joined the list. Here's a closer look at what Neeraj Pandey said. Neeraj Pandey calls the AI-edited climax of 'Raanjhanaa' 'disrespectful' In an interview with NDTV, Pandey said, "AI is just a tool. A human being is operating it. So it's the intent behind its use that matters. And if a piece of cinema is being altered without involving the director and writer, then it's utterly disrespectful." The director said that he was shocked. Elaborating further, he said if the makers are implying that they have the rights and they can do anything, "that's still no excuse." He stated that the production house could have communicated the same with Aanand L. Rai and the other creators involved in the movie. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Pierce Brosnan's Wife Lost 120 Pounds - This Is Her Now Undo He said, "It would have been the right thing to do."
