GloRilla Turns Up Indianapolis With Fiery 2025 WNBA All-Star Game Halftime Show Performance
GloRilla brought her Memphis tenacity to Indianapolis as she headlined the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game Halftime Show on Saturday night (July 19) with a dynamic performance. Introduced by ESPN's Elle Duncan, Chiney Ogwumike and Andraya Carter, Big Glo hit the stage in a custom one-of-one Gatorade letterman jacket. It was inscribed with an homage to her 'Let Her Cook' hit across the back, along with the signature Gatorade towel in the hood area. More from Billboard Fans Choose BTS' 'Permission to Dance On Stage' Live Album as This Week's Favorite New Music 'JACKBOYS 2' Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart Christina Aguilera Attends 'Burlesque the Musical' in London: See Her Reaction She kicked things off by amping up the Gainbridge Fieldhouse crowd with the aforementioned 'Let Her Cook' before moving into other fan favorites, such as June single 'Typa' and 'TGIF.' Glo and her team of dancers then took the show to center court while the WNBA All-Stars remained on the sidelines to take in the performance, which had the group going crazy. Stars Brittney Sykes and Angel Reese were hyped up and loving Big Glo's energy, as they sang along to just about every word. The 25-year-old Memphis native finished off the halftime show with her Sexyy Red-assisted 'WHATCHU KNO ABOUT ME,' which is certified platinum by the RIAA and peaked inside the Billboard Hot 100's top 20. Glo's music has been part of the in-arena broadcast as hits like 'Hollon' have been played throughout the Fieldhouse during timeouts. BIA was also part of the All-Star Game, setting the tone of the night with her 'We On Go' performance during pre-game player introductions. Next up for GloRilla, she'll keep the party going into the heat of the summer when she hosts her inaugural Glo Bash next Friday (July 25) at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, which boasts performances from Rob 49 and Muni Long. With Team Clark down two starters, including hometown hero Caitlin Clark, Team Collier has built a comfortable 20-plus point cushion in the second half of the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game and should be able to coast to victory and hoist the trophy, barring a disaster. Travis Scott Hangs Out With His Amazing Friends on ‘Jackboys 2'
'Yeah, man, I swear these old niggas kill me,' raps Travis Scott in his typical melodic flow on 'Champain & Vacay.' The Houston star's pushback against Clipse's 'So Be It,' where Pusha T's ripped Scott for his 'lack of loyalty' towards past mentors and friends like Kanye West and Drake, seems relatively tame. The irony, though, is that Scott isn't young anymore, either. At age 34, he's been a star since 2014's Days Before Rodeo, and his traits are overly familiar: the watery and slightly distorted harmonies, the insistent luxury metaphors, and the way he punctuates his verses with adlibs like 'it's lit!' and 'straight up!' At his best, Scott shapes these tropes into immersive Astroworlds, creations where the sonics are so dazzling that one tends to overlook its plasticine exteriors and lack of nuance and frisson. But a decade's a long time to spend in virtual reality. Jackboys 2, a sequel to 2019's EP-length chart-topper Jackboys, may be intended as a showcase for Scott's Cactus Jack imprint and acts like Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, SoFaygo, and Wallie the Sensei. But it ultimately sounds like Scott and his Amazing Friends. He hogs most of the tracks alongside high-wattage guests like Playboi Carti and Future ('Where Was You'), Tyla and Vybz Kartel (the tropical-sounding 'PBT'), Youngboy Never Broke Again ('Outside'), and 21 Savage ('Kick Out'). The nearly hour-long project is threaded with quotes from UGK hero Bun B that seem designed to center Jackboys 2 as a Texas-sized blockbuster. 'This shit get intergalactic,' promises Don Toliver on 'Champaign & Vacay.' More from Rolling Stone These Blog-Era Rap Stars Dropped Last Week. Only One Made the Hot 100 Watch Clipse Showcase Emotional Track 'The Birds Don't Sing' on Fallon Travis Scott Says Kanye West Gave Permission to Use Demo in Motion to Dismiss 'Telekinesis' Suit To his credit, Scott tries to rap a bit harder than usual, especially on 'Kick Out' and 'Dumbo,' the latter where he brags, 'Chain on ice cream, don't melt.' There's some nice production, particularly from producers F1lthy and Glasear on 'Where Was You,' which floats with an odd, harpsichord-like melody. But everything sounds paved with the same rolling trap-like thump, a baseline requirement for rage-rap. Songs meander by with nothing but banal sentiments to distinguish them, like Scott claiming, 'I'm sittin' courtside, can hit the ref with a tech/Lambo door suicide, she get blessed if we mesh' on 'Contest.' There are a few good shots, though, like when SahBabii claims, 'Rainbow diamonds, this shit on me blingin'/Stepped out of the jeweler, bought a gay parade (wow, wow)' on 'Beep Beep.' Kodak Black inserts pathos into 'Florida Flow' when he raps, 'I don't wanna live too long, too old, but I don't wanna die this young/All I know if 'trol pull us over, this bitch better hide this gun.' And hilariously, GloRilla uses her cameo on 'Shyne' to rap, 'My only regret is bein' too young to fuck Matthew McConaughey.' Ultimately, Jackboys 2 unfolds like a mediocre Netflix movie, an amusing late-night diversion that's hard to remember the next day. Christian Walker's go-ahead HR in the 6th inning propels Astros past Mariners 11-3
SEATTLE (AP) — Christian Walker hit a go-ahead solo homer in the sixth inning as the Houston Astros rallied from an early three-run deficit and beat the Seattle Mariners 11-3 on Sunday to avoid a series sweep. Walker, who entered the game hitting .333 in July, hit his third homer of the month and 13th of the season to left field off Mariners All-Star Bryan Woo (8-5). Two batters later, Taylor Trammell added his second homer of the season to double the Astros' lead. Trammell added a two-run double in the seventh inning. The Astros were resilient after falling behind 3-0 after three innings. They tied the game in the fifth on a fielding error by J.P. Crawford and a two-run double by Cam Smith. Houston starter Hunter Brown allowed three runs on six hits with seven strikeouts in four innings. Four relievers worked five shutout innings with right-hander Kaleb Ort (2-1) earning the win. Key moment It briefly appeared the Mariners had cut their deficit to one run when J.P. Crawford doubled to left field in the sixth. Miles Mastrobuoni tried to score from first and was originally ruled safe on a close play at the plate, but the Astros challenged the call, which was overturned. Key stat The Astros have scored at least nine runs in a game 11 times this season. They are 11-0 in those games. Up next The Astros continue their road trip on Monday at Arizona with left-hander Colton Gordon (3-2, 4.67 ERA) starting. The Mariners will send RHP George Kirby (4-4, 4.50) in the opener of a three-game series against visiting Milwaukee. ___ AP MLB:
