Mallanagouda Patil, Panchamasali community's Kalaburagi district president, said that food poisoning caused a headache, vomiting, and chest pain for swami on Friday evening.

"He was treated by some local doctors. However, he experienced the same complaint in the early hours on Saturday. We immediately took him to a private hospital. Currently, he is in the ICU but doing well. Devotees need not worry," he added.
It's said that swami was upset after the recent locking of Lingayat Panchamasali Peetha in Kudalasangam. He is said to be stressed after MLA Kashappanavar filed a police complaint against swami's followers for breaking the Peetha's lock.
