Anne Hegerty of 'The Chase' uninterested in relationships after wedding snub
There's no one quite like Anne Hegerty. A quiz champion on The Chase since 2010 and a memorable participant in the jungle in 2018, the 67-year-old, who was diagnosed with autism in her mid-40s, is unashamedly herself.
Just last month, Anne, who boasts an estimated net worth of £3.2 million, shed light on the payment structure for the Chasers on the hit quiz show, explaining there's no fixed salary involved and their earnings are not guaranteed.
Now, the sharp-witted and refreshingly candid TV personality has chatted to OK! Magazine about her disinterest in romance, her bone of contention with former jungle campmate Nick Knowles, and an ambition she's yet to fulfil.
On being comfortable in her own company, Anne told OK: "Even at showbiz events, I need to take time out if it's very noisy. I need to chill for a bit, alone. I know many people like that.
"People keep inviting me to things and I think, 'Are you lonely?' So many people have tons of friends and have to have them around all the time."
Asked if she'd like someone special to share her life with, Anne answered frankly: "No, I really wouldn't.
"I used to, but I realised I was wanting to want it rather than genuinely wanting a romantic relationship.
"I don't even want pets. I've got pot plants and I mind when they die, but no, I'm very happy in my own company. I'm just fine."
Anne said she keeps in touch with her old I'm A Celebrity campmates here and there, but that a special occasion concerning Nick Knowles prompted the reality TV show line-up from six years ago to reconnect.
"We've still got our WhatsApp group," Anne revealed. "It's not very active, but I did post on there recently. I saw in the papers that Nick Knowles had got married. I didn't get an invite, but I'm not bitter – much!
"I posted my congrats on the group and everyone else did the same. If I meet any of them out and about, it's always big catch-ups and hugs."
So, with one reality TV show having been ticked off the list, could she be tempted to get her dancing shows on for another? A certain Strictly Come Dancing perhaps?

"God no!" she answered immediately. "My agent tried to get me to do it ages ago, but I couldn't even formulate the words to say, 'I think this is a bloody terrible idea.' I can't dance to save my life.
"When I'm in panto, you can make me sing a bit but, whatever you do, don't make me dance."
Anne does harbour one burning ambition, though, admitting: "I would love to do a bit of acting. I'd love a chance to do a comedy role. I do love being funny."

Coronation Street fans 'rumble' who Floyd phoned about Lisa in 'Tia twist'
Coronation Street fans saw Lisa Swain's therapist Floyd making a 'suspicious' phone call about her after their session on the ITV soap, and fans think it's linked to Tia Wardley Therapist Floyd on Coronation Street may have some explaining to do after a "suspicious" phone call. Now, some fans think they have figured out who he was on the phone to in a cryptic chat after a therapy session with Lisa Swain. It could be a mystery new character if fans are correct, with viewers now suspecting Floyd could be corrupt. It comes as Carla Connor was snooping into the death of partner Lisa's ex-wife Becky Swain, who died in the line of duty years earlier. Lisa is also digging into the police officer's death, and she tearfully confessed to Floyd on Friday that she believed her wife may have been in trouble, amid continuing mystery surrounding what led to her death. As she confessed her fears, explaining that the Radcliffe brothers had implied there was more to what happened to her, she admitted her daughter Betsy Swain had visited one of them, Logan, for answers. But Floyd suggested to her the pair may just be trying to get to her. He asked her if she truly thought her wife was corrupt, or maybe Logan and Matty Radcliffe were lying because they had a grudge against her after their recent arrests. Lisa appeared to come around to the latter idea, while she admitted "you never truly know anyone". As the session ended, Floyd checked in with her and she said: "Maybe you're right," questioning if she'd "been kidding herself" as Floyd seemed keen for her not to believe Becky was corrupt. It's then as Lisa left the room that Floyd got his phone out and called a mystery person. He told the mystery caller: "I think I made a breakthrough with Swain." So was he calling someone to let them know Lisa may drop the Becky case? Was it Costello, who was seen on his phone after? Was it the person who later told a prisoner to attack Logan after his comments to Carla? Viewers even wondered if it was the mystery Tia Wardley, the name Logan gave to Carla. One fan said: "I think we were meant to believe Floyd was ringing Costello after Lisa's therapy session but what if it was this Tia Wardley??" Another fan said: "Costello." A third fan posted: "Floyd the therapist is compromised, he's part of the it! Costello sent him to shut Lisa down and stop her digging into Becky." Another viewer said: "Who was Floyd on the phone to - was it Costello?" Oasis fans hit with Covid 'superspreader' warning ahead of Murrayfield gigs
Experts are urging pandemic-style precautions ahead of the Edinburgh leg of Oasis' hotly-anticipated tour They are the live performances that Oasis enthusiasts in Scotland have been anticipating all summer, with Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher finally travelling north of the border for three sold-out shows at Murrayfield Stadium. The iconic brothers will be taking to the Edinburgh stage on August 8, 9, and 12, when eager fans will finally hear hits like 'Wonderwall' and 'Don't Look Back in Anger' for the first time since the pair's infamous fallout 16 years ago. However, with just five days until the band's first Scottish performance since 2009, supporters are being cautioned that the latest variant of Covid is circulating amongst music enthusiasts attending the Live 25 reunion tour. Ironically, the Stratus variant is recognised for causing people to develop a hoarse voice – rather like frontman and Britpop wildman Liam Gallagher, who has been troubled by laryngitis and other throat ailments. The virus has been circulating at London's Wembley Stadium, where Oasis have now completed five nights, with specialists recommending pandemic-style precautions before the Edinburgh portion of the tour. Over 200,000 people will pack into Scottish Gas Murrayfield, with the Scottish capital already heaving due to the Fringe, reports the Scottish Daily Express. Akash Sood from Knightswood Pharmacy said: "New strands of Covid can infect thousands within metres of one another, so wear a mask if concerned, be safe and enjoy the return of Oasis." The danger of contracting Covid at the concerts has also been emphasised by a team working on a documentary about the brothers' comeback tour. Fans heading into Wembley were greeted with a notice stating: "You acknowledge the contagious and potentially dangerous nature of Covid-19 and that the government and many public health authorities recommend social distancing." The message continued: "You acknowledge that there remains the possibility that you may come into direct or indirect contact with Covid and you freely and willingly enter this area." The newly identified Stratus strain comprises two variants, XFG and XFG. 3, with XFG.3 responsible for 30 per cent of all Covid cases in England, as reported by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). Dr Alex Allen, Consultant Epidemiologist at UKHSA, said it is "normal for viruses to mutate and change over time" and confirmed that the agency continues to monitor all strains of Covid within the UK. As mentioned, the new strain of Covid's unique symptom is a hoarse and raspy voice. Dr Kaywaan Khan, a Harley Street GP and Founder of Hannah London Clinic, described its symptoms as 'mild to moderate,' and other signs of Stratus are similar to that of other Covid strains. Dr Khan advised: "If you test positive, Stratus is highly contagious, and it is advised to stay home and isolate to avoid spreading to others." The NHS explains that symptoms of Covid can include:

Strictly's Stacey Dooley warns daughter 'they'll take me off you' after ordeal with Kevin
Strictly's Stacey Dooley warns daughter 'they'll take me off you' after ordeal with Kevin Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton got into a relationship after winning Strictly Come Dancing in 2018, and now, the couple share their young daughter Minnie, who caused a 'drama' for her parents this weekend Kevin Clifton and Stacey Dooley (Image: Helen Murray) Stacey Dooley had to issue a warning to her daughter Minnie on Saturday morning, after the two-year-old went through "a couple of meltdowns" before heading into London with her parents to promote their roles in 2:22 - A Ghost Story. Stacey and her partner Kevin Clifton, who met and fell in love after lifting Strictly Come Dancing's Glitterball Trophy together in 2018, were due to appear on Zoe Ball's BBC Radio 2 show in the afternoon to discuss their UK-wide tour of the West End hit. However, the day didn't get off to the best start, with Zoe explaining to listeners that her guests had been through "a dramatic morning", leading to "lots of people running around" behind-the-scenes trying to rectify the situation before they went on air. Welcoming the couple onto her show, Zoe shared: "I am thrilled to say that they've just about made it. But it's been a dramatic morning for our guests today, an awful lot has happened, but they're here now, it's Dooley and Clifton!" The poster for 2.22: A Ghost Story UK tour, starring the couple (Image: DAILY EXPRESS) Following their introduction, Stacey candidly opened up about the ordeal the trio had been through to make it onto Radio 2. The documentary filmmaker admitted: "I've just been painfully predictable this morning." The problems started when Minnie refused to have a shower, with Stacey confessing she had to issue her daughter with a warning, as her face was covered in food. She recalled: "We've had a couple of meltdowns at about 8 o'clock this morning, which was really fun, and then we didn't want to shower, 'I don't want a morning shower', and I said, 'you've got ravioli around your face baby, they'll take me off you!'" The drama didn't stop there, as when Stacey, Kevin, and Minnie arrived at Broadcasting House, the BBC presenter "got stuck" while trying to make her way up to Zoe's radio studio. Kevin Clifton pictured with his and Stacey's daughter, Minnie Stacey continued: "And then I got stuck in the stair lift, and your amazing producer came to save me," to which Zoe responded by telling Kevin: "There was lots of people running around past the glass Kev, and I was like, 'what's going down'?" Sharing his version of events, professional dancer Kevin said: "They were all looking for Stacey's phone, because she lost her phone downstairs, and, as we know, Stace will not get in a lift and we're, like, on the top floor of the building here. "So they had to find some secret passage to get Stacey up the stairs, it's been a real journey to get here." Kevin Clifton and Stacey Dooley first met on Strictly in 2018 (Image: BBC) Stacey cheekily interjected by joking: "I'm no hassle! I'm no hassle," with Zoe quipping: "You knew this when you got involved Kev, you knew what you were getting involved in..." Article continues below Kevin laughed and replied: "Yeah, I've got these two manic redheads who are making my life really dramatic!" 2:22 - A Ghost Story will mark the first time Stacey and Kevin have worked together since their Strictly stint, taking on the roles of Jenny and Sam in the supernatural thriller. Former Strictly pro Kevin originally shared the news via an Instagram photo of the couple, which he posted alongside the caption: "Day 1 back working with this little fella again. Last time was 7 years ago @sjdooley @222aghoststory."
