Over 2.84 lakh Tripura farmers got Rs 45.43 crore under PM Kisan, says CM Manik Saha
'Under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, various steps have been taken to empower our farmers. PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is a significant step in this direction,' Saha wrote on X. 'Today, the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme – Rs 20,500 crore virtually disbursed by the Hon'ble PM to honor the farmers across the country including Tripura. A total of 2.84 lakh farmers from Tripura received Rs 45,43,74,000. Attended a programme held at the State Agricultural Research Center, A.D. Nagar on this occasion & encouraged the farmers.'
While speaking at a separate programme of the Sampoornata Abhiyan Samman Samaroh, Saha said the BJP Government laid emphasis on providing people from all sections with proper facilities and had been working to improve the socioeconomic condition of the people in the state's underdeveloped areas.
Saha further stated that the Government had launched a project titled Targeted Rural Initiatives for Poverty Termination and Infrastructure ( TRIPTI) to uplift nearly 4,000 poor families in the Ganganagar block of Dhalai district and in the Dasda block of North Tripura district.
The chief minister added that nearly 55 crore zero-balance accounts were opened throughout the country under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.
Saha also inaugurated the Navdisha Abhiyan, with an Rs 50-crore outlay for the socioeconomic development of 10,000 families living in 16 blocks across the state. 'The Government's target is to upgrade the lifestyle of the marginalised families. Campaigns for the socioeconomic development of those who have not joined the self-help groups (SHGs) for various reasons have been launched,' he added.
The state has 53,951 SHGs, with 4.84 lakh women members, under the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission.
Saha said the Central Government had identified 112 aspirational districts and 500 aspirational blocks throughout the country for special development efforts. 'Emphasis has been given to different sectors like health, nutrition, education, agriculture, and social development in each block. The indigenous leaders' monthly allowance has recently been hiked from Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000. Our Government has prioritised the integration of castes and tribes,' the chief minister added.

When will DA hike be announced? According to media reports, citing sources, the Narendra Modi government is likely to announce the DA hike by August 15, but the benefits will be retrospectively implemented from the month of July. Over 5o lakh central government employees and 62 lakh pensioners are eagerly awaiting the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission as well as Dearness Allowance (DA) hike under the current 7th Pay Commission, which will cease to be in force on December 31, 2025. How much DA hike can employees expect? The DA hike will depend on the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI-IW), which increased by by 0.5 points to 144 in May 2025. The index has increased for three consecutive months, from 143 in March, 143.5 in April and 144 in May. Considering this trend, its likely that dearness allowance could increase from 3-4 percent from July. The final DA hike will be determined by June 2025 AICPI-IW data, which will be released in August. In case of a 3 percent increase, the DA will be hiked to 58%, from the current 55%, while a 4 percent hike would mean a 59% DA for central government employees. DA is reviewed twice a year, and adjusted according to inflation based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI). When will 8th Pay Commission be implemented? Going by the implementation of previous pay commissions, it usually takes about 18 to 24 months for the government to implement the recommendations. Thus, its unlikely that 8th Pay Commission would be implemented before mid-2027. Currently, 7th Pay Commission recommendations are in force, and will remain so till December 2025. A new pay commission is constituted every 10 years which tenders suggestions for revision of salary and pension of central government employees and pensioners in wake of the prevailing economic scenario in the country. The 8th Pay Commission was announced by the Union government in January this year.

The double-deck flyover consists of two levels. The upper deck is 2,175.5 metres long and carries traffic from Gandhi Maidan to Science College. The lower deck is 1,449.3 metres long and helps vehicles move from Patna College to Gandhi Maidan, near BN College. Both decks, each 8.5 metres wide, connect to PMCH and are meant to reduce traffic jams in the city. Now, Delhi Assembly runs solely on sunlight, first in the country
The Delhi Legislative Assembly on Sunday became the first legislature in the country to be powered entirely by solar energy, following the commissioning of a 500-kilowatt rooftop solar power plant. Alongside this, the Assembly launched the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), marking a shift towards paperless legislative functioning. The two initiatives were inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, who called the Assembly's transition a model for sustainable and digital governance. 'This is not just an infrastructure upgrade, but a shift in institutional values,' he said, adding that the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs will provide all possible assistance to the efforts and initiatives of the Delhi Legislative Assembly in this regard. Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta emphasised that the solarisation of the Assembly is a cornerstone in a broader institutional shift towards sustainable and digital transformation. 'The present Assembly building was constructed in 1912 and was home to the country's first Parliament,' Gupta said. Highlighting the balance between tradition and progress, he remarked, 'Virasat aur Vikaas saath chalega (Legacy and development go together).' Gupta added that the solar power plant, installed on the rooftop, is expected to reduce the Assembly's monthly electricity bill by around Rs 15 lakh, or approximately Rs 1.75 crore annually. The savings, he said, would be redirected to developmental work. It will also potentially generate surplus electricity through net metering. The NeVA platform, developed under the Centre's 'One Nation, One Application' initiative, will be fully implemented from the upcoming Monsoon Session. A successful trial run was conducted with MLAs ahead of the inauguration. The trial offered firsthand experience of the digital interface, which includes smart delegate units with microphones and voting panels, RFID/NFC access, multilingual support, real-time document access via iPads, an automated AV system with HD cameras, and a secure, power-backed networking environment. The House will also see the introduction of the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Bill, 2025, by Education Minister Ashish Sood. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is also scheduled to table the Finance and Appropriation Accounts for 2023-24, which will present the financial position of the national capital. Gupta will also present two audit reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG): one on state finances for 2023-24 and a separate report on the welfare of building and construction workers in 2022-23. Sood, who also holds the Power portfolio, will also lay the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission's annual accounts and a notification on Green Energy Open Access regulations.
