BBC breaks silence on Call The Midwife axe claims and issues bombshell statement
The BBC has set the record straight on claims Call The Midwife has been axed, confirming that the beloved show "isn't going anywhere".
It comes after reports that the BAFTA-winning programme would be leaving screens after almost 15 years.
However, the BBC has issued a firm denial, stating: "The BBC would like to reassure fans that Call The Midwife will remain at the heart of the BBC for years to come. As previously announced, there are two Christmas specials, a new series, a film and prequel series, before a sixteenth series in due course. Call the Midwife isn't going anywhere."
