Mohamed Emam to Participate in Ramadan 2026 with TV Series "Al Malek"
Egyptian actor Mohamed Emam is set to participate in the Ramadan 2026 drama marathon with the TV series "Al Malek".
Emam was initially set to participate last Ramadan with the drama, but was pushed back to next Ramadan due to a conflict in the shooting schedule and the enormity of the project, which required shooting in multiple countries and a lot of preparation.
"Al Malek" hails from director Shereen Adel and scriptwriter Mohamed Salah El Azab.
Emam made his last participation in the marathon with the 2024 TV series "
Cobra
".
The cast also includes Magdy Kamel, Mahmoud El-Bezzawy, Hesham Ismail, Alaa Morsy, Menna Fadaly, Donia Maher, Mohamed Tharwat, Mahmoud Abdel Moghny, Ahmed Fathy, Alhan El Mahdy, Ayman Azab, Ahmad Bahr (Kozbara), Mai Ezz Eldin, Salwa Othman, Weaam Magdy, Mohamed Osama "Osos", and more.
The series is scripted by Ahmed Mahmoud Abou Zeid, directed by Ahmed Shafek, and produced by the Synergy production company.
"Cobra" consists of 15 episodes and screened during the second half of the Ramadan 2024 drama marathon.
Emam, born on December 16, 1984, comes from an artistic family as his father is 'El Zaeem' actor Adel Emam, and the younger brother of director Rami Emam.
He went to Jesuit school before he entered the American University in Cairo. Emam studied theater and acted in many roles at the university including 'Atawa in El Maghmati' play directed by Mahmoud El Lozy.
Emam first began his acting career as a child, co-starring alongside his father in the 1990 film 'Hanafi El Abha' (The Magnificent Hanafi).
His first role as an adult was in the 2003 TV series 'Kanaria and Shorkah'. Emam's first film as the main protagonist was 'Al Beeh Romansy' (The Romantic Bey) in 2009.
His TV credits include "El Nemr", 'Hogan', 'Lam'yy El Ott','Saheb El Saada','Firqat Naji Atallah','Khatout Hamra", 'Bilshama'a El Ahmar', and 'Khatut Hamra'.
Emam is also known for his roles in films "Amohom", 'Lis Bagdad', 'Lelyt Hana w Sorour', 'Gahim Fe El Hend', 'Captain Masr','Al-Bayh Romancy', 'Hassan and Marcus', and 'The Yacoubian Building'.

Rana Atef On Tuesday, it was reported that unreleased music by Beyoncé was among several items stolen from a vehicle in Atlanta days before her Cowboy Carter tour stop in the city, authorities confirmed. Hard drives containing the unreleased songs, show plans, and past and future set lists for her tour were among the items stolen from a rental car used by Beyoncé's choreographer and one of her dancers, according to a police report. The theft took place on 8 July, two days before Beyoncé's first Atlanta performance. Atlanta police say an arrest warrant has been issued, but the suspect's name has not been made public. Choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue told police they had parked the rented black Jeep Wagoneer and gone inside a nearby food hall. When they returned, the vehicle's rear window had been smashed and two suitcases were missing, a police incident report states. They told police they were "carrying some personal sensitive information for the musician Beyoncé" in the vehicle that was also stolen. That included "five jump drives containing watermarked music, unreleased music, footage plans for shows past and future, and set list", the report states. Other items reported stolen included a laptop, designer clothes and Apple AirPods. Authorities used tracking information on the laptop and headphones to track where the items may have gone, the police report notes. Authorities also dusted the vehicle for any fingerprints and discovered "two very light prints". Media Delegations from US & UK Visit Cairo & Sharm El-Sheikh
ali abo deshish The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, hosted a visit for prominent media representatives from the United Kingdom and the United States. The visit included tours of key tourist and archaeological landmarks in Cairo and Sharm El-Sheikh. Moreover, the ministry welcomed the production team of the popular Chinese TV show Divas Hit the Road, currently filming its new season at various tourist attractions in Cairo, Giza, and Luxor. In this context, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy, emphasized that such initiatives align with the ministry's broader marketing strategy, which aims to promote Egypt as a rich and multifaceted destination capable of attracting a wide variety of tourists from all over the world. Egypt 4th Aragouz festival: Heritage, economy, and resistance - Heritage special
Egypt recently came alive with the fourth Aragouz Festival, which took place from July 1 to 8. The festival commenced at Cairo's Al-Sennari House and concluded in Alexandria. The event explored themes such as Heritage Economy and Heritage is Resistance, featuring shadow puppets and Aragouz – an ancient form of Egyptian hand puppetry that was added to UNESCO's List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding in 2018. The festival's second day featured many inspiring events. Nabil Bahgat, a theatre professor and the founder director of Wamda Shadow Puppets and Aragouz troupe, opened the day with a dedication to all children in Gaza, including the six-year-old Palestinian girl Hend Ragab, who was shot 355 bullets by the Israeli occupation while talking to the Red Crescent. Bahgat lamented the tragic loss of Hend. Bahgat also presented a summary of a paper by Mohamed Shabana, a Professor of Folk Music at the High Institute for Folk Arts, which focused on heritage music and resistance. The day's discussions concluded with remarks from Mohamed Shahata, a heritage literature researcher, who highlighted Aragouz's historical role as a tool for social criticism and a means to narrate any catastrophe that people are subjected to. He spotlighted the connection between heritage and resistance, citing popular Syra (Local Epics). He referred to the series Ali el Zeibaq, where the protagonist Ali resists injustice through "tricks, not swords," illustrating that "not all resistance was in the use of swords." He also mentioned other folks' heroes like Seif ibn Zi Yazan, who expelled the Habasha (Ethiopia) invaders from Yemen, and Al Zaher Beibars, known for his great role in resisting the French troops in Mansoura. He also recalled the Syra of Zat el Hemma, a Palestinian woman from the Abbasid era who played a significant role in resisting the Roman invasion of Arab lands. Shahata noted that proverbs, songs, popular poems, and popular heritage were the solution when facing lots of wrong and injustice. He added that when people found no one to defend them, they would "make up an imaginary hero that defies injustice." 'What is written in Syra books is not totally true, for the storyteller would add to the Syra from his imagination," he concluded. The talks were followed by two performances by the WAMDA theatre troupe, one that is dedicated to promoting the heritage of Aragouz and Shadow puppets. The troupe, which has held a weekly show for over 15 years at Beit El Sehemi House. The Shadow Puppet play, The Treacherous, Roaring Rooster, was written by Palestinian author Ghanam Ghanam and directed by Professor Nabil Bahgat. It follows a despicable rooster who tricks the villagers and steals their belongings. Eventually, the villagers teamed with the king, who defeats the rooster and restores peace to the village. As for the Aragouz performance, it was one of the classics that was played during the Egyptian-Israeli era and in it, Felfel, the son of the Aragouz, was martyred and avenged by the Aragouz. Bahgat also addressed the challenges facing traditional puppetry. "Our problem is organising the market and marketing, and we are working on that, for the products are ready, be it the puppets,' he said. He added that he attended a meeting with the culture minister to discuss plans for expanding performance opportunities and establishing a permanent exhibition space dedicated to folk puppet heritage. 'We can produce art, but the problem of art in Egypt is management and marketing, so we are trying to compensate for this by having a plan and working on it," Bahgat concluded.
