First aid workshop for children with diabetes
The workshop was prepared and implemented by Ms. Fatima Abdulrahman, Head of the First Aid Committee at the Society, in cooperation with a distinguished team of BRCS trainers, including Mr. Mohammed Ashour, Mrs. Afaf Bujeri, and Mr. Jamal Salem, accompanied by Dr. Fatima Mohammed, which enriched the training content and provided an integrated educational experience for the participating children.
The workshop was also attended and supervised by Dr. Maryam Al Hajri, Member of BRCS board, who stressed the importance of continuing such awareness initiatives and joint programs that serve different segments of society, especially children with chronic diseases, and contribute to building a more aware generation capable of taking care of their health.

IFRC Spotlights Bahrain Heat Campaign
Bahrain's efforts to combat extreme heat have been recognised on the international stage, with the Kingdom featured on the cover of a global report published by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) for Heat Action Day 2025. The IFRC publication highlights global initiatives undertaken by more than 25 countries - including the United States, India, Japan, the Netherlands, and Pakistan - to raise awareness about heat-related risks. Among these, Bahrain's contribution stood out, led by the Bahrain Red Crescent Society and prominently placed on the cover. Recognition earned The Kingdom's campaign, organised in conjunction with Heat Action Day on June 2nd, focused on field-level awareness targeting outdoor workers. Conducted across various job sites, the initiative aimed to prevent heat exhaustion and sunstroke during Bahrain's peak summer season. Volunteers from the Bahrain Red Crescent distributed educational materials, offered practical heat safety advice, and provided first-response tips to help mitigate heat-related emergencies. Red Crescent leads Secretary- General of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society Mubarak Al Hadi described the global recognition as a testament to Bahrain's commitment to climate resilience and humanitarian outreach. 'Featuring the Society's efforts on the cover reflects our ongoing commitment to protecting vulnerable populations from the impacts of climate change,' Al Hadi said. Regional role affirmed He added that the recognition serves as a strong motivator to continue expanding prevention efforts and reinforces Bahrain's standing as a regional leader in humanitarian action. The campaign is part of broader national outreach programmes aimed at safeguarding community health during increasingly harsh summers.

BRCS Hosts Awareness Seminar on Health During Hajj Season
As part of its ongoing commitment to public health education, the Health Awareness Committee of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) organised a live online seminar titled 'Your Health During the Journey of a Lifetime: Together for a Safe and Healthy Hajj.' The event was streamed on the Society's official Instagram account on 19 May, aiming to raise awareness among individuals preparing to perform the Hajj pilgrimage. The seminar featured distinguished healthcare professionals who offered guidance and answered questions from the audience. Speakers included Dr. Kawthar Al Eid from the Ministry of Health and Dr. Wafaa Ajour, a medical supervisor accompanying Hajj campaigns. Both experts shared valuable and detailed insights into the essential health considerations pilgrims should keep in mind before, during, and after Hajj. The session was moderated by Mrs. Muyssar Awadhalla, who facilitated the discussion and fielded audience questions. Topics covered included essential pre-travel medical preparations, managing health emergencies during the pilgrimage, and key recommendations for preventing illness and ensuring safety in crowded environments.
