A video honoring mothers was also played at each game.
Along with the celebrations, players and coaches also wore pink clothes, like socks, wristbands, and batting gloves. A few players decided to use pink custom bats to support the cause.

Cubs starter Michael Soroka headed to IL after just 2 innings with his new team.

CHICAGO — After just two innings with his new team, Chicago Cubs starter Michael Soroka is headed to the injured list with right shoulder discomfort. Cubs starter Michael Soroka headed to IL after just 2 innings with his new team. The right-hander left Monday night's 3-2 loss to Cincinnati after the second inning in his first appearance with the Cubs — and on his 28th birthday — since being acquired from Washington last Wednesday. 'He said he let a pitch go in the second inning and just didn't feel good,' manager Craig Counsell said. 'Finished the inning, but came into the dugout and said his shoulder was not feeling good, so it's an IL.' Soroka allowed one run and one hit — Tyler Stephenson's solo shot — and struck out three while walking one before being replaced by Ben Brown in the third inning. Soroka came in a trade from the Nationals for two minor leaguers to help fill a gap in Chicago's rotation, with ace left-hander Justin Steele out for the season and Jameson Taillon working his way back from a right calf strain. Counsell said he wasn't sure of the severity of the injury and that Soroka would undergo tests and examination. "I don't think we should speculate," Counsell said. 'It's an IL and the doctors will take a look and then we'll go from there.' Soroka, making his 17th start of the season, came in 3-8 with 4.87 ERA. The righty began his career with a bang, going 13-4 with a 2.68 ERA in an All-Star season with the Braves in 2019. But he tore his right Achilles tendon twice, causing him to miss the 2021 and 2022 seasons. In 2024 he was 0-10 with a 4.74 ERA for the crosstown White Sox as they set the modern-era record for losses in a season with 121. 'His velocity has gone a little bit backwards and he's trying to figure out how to address that,' Counsell said. 'I think he was very optimistic in the first couple days here that we could help him there and things could get better.' Braves return after disappointing trip to host MLB-best Brewers

One of baseball's hottest teams and offenses will look to continue a torrid stretch on Monday as the visiting Milwaukee Brewers take on the Atlanta Braves in the opener of a three-game series. Braves return after disappointing trip to host MLB-best Brewers Winners in six of seven games, Milwaukee owns Major League Baseball's best record. In a sweep of Washington, the Brewers outscored the Nationals 38-14, setting a franchise record with 56 hits across the three-game series. Brice Turang hit two home runs and drove in four on Sunday, while Christian Yelich went 7-for-13 with four RBIs over the weekend. The Brewers are tied for second in the majors in batting average and fifth with 555 runs. On the mound, Quinn Priester will make his 21st appearance for the Brewers on Monday. The 24-year-old is 4-0 with a 3.07 ERA in July, and hasn't suffered a loss since May 13 at Cleveland. "That kid has just been getting better and better. It's a credit to the front office," Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy said of Priester. "He's great, has poise, toughness, all the things you want." Last time out, Priester gave up two runs in 5 2/3 innings in a 9-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs. Priester is 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA in two career starts against the Braves. He threw six innings of one-run ball in a 4-1 win over Atlanta on June 10. Suffering through a disappointing season, the Braves enter Monday on the heels of a rare series win. Atlanta beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-2 on Sunday in the Speedway Classic at Bristol Motor Speedway, earning its first series victory since July 11-13. After a four-city road trip saw the Braves drop six of nine games, the club will return to Truist Park for the first time since July 23. In a season that's seen all five of the Braves' season-opening starting pitchers wind up on the 60-day injured list, the situation went from bad to worse last week, when the club put superstar right fielder Ronald Acuna Jr. on the 15-day IL with a right calf strain. Acuna, who was activated in May after tearing his ACL in May 2024, is batting .306 with 14 home runs and 26 RBIs. Eli White has stepped in to try and fill the void, doing just that on Sunday. White clubbed a pair of home runs and drove in four to propel the Braves to their first Sunday win since May 18. Fitting for the injury-riddled campaign, third baseman Austin Riley left the game after making a diving play and was replaced by Luke Williams, who later made a run-saving stop at third. "Any time Eli does good, I feel good," Braves manager Brian Snitker said. "It's just like when Luke made that great play in the eighth. You root for the good guys, and they're both two of the best. ... As far as the IL for Riley, I don't know until we get in there and evaluate him more." Making his second start in an Atlanta uniform, veteran right-hander Erick Fedde will look to earn his first victory since May 9. After the St. Louis Cardinals designated Fedde for assignment and subsequently traded him for cash, the 32-year-old allowed four runs in 4 2/3 innings in his Braves debut last Tuesday in a 9-6 loss at Kansas City. In eight career appearances against Milwaukee, Fedde is 2-4 with a 5.77 ERA. Fedde has lost to the Brewers twice this season, most recently allowing three runs in 5 1/3 innings in a 3-2 defeat on June 13. White goes deep twice as the Braves beat the Reds in rain-delayed MLB Speedway Classic at Bristol

BRISTOL, Tenn. (AP) — Eli White hit a three-run homer and a solo shot, helping the Atlanta Braves beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-2 on Sunday in the rain-delayed MLB Speedway Classic at Bristol Motor Speedway. HT Image White's first homer of the afternoon gave Atlanta a 3-1 lead in the second inning at the historic racetrack. The ball hit the safer barrier after clearing the outfield wall and the track itself. He added his sixth homer of the season on a leadoff shot in the seventh. Cincinnati went 1 for 8 with runners in scoring position and left 12 on base. Brent Suter (1-2) got the loss. Atlanta came in having clinched the season series, winning four of the first six games. The teams split the first two in Cincinnati before coming to Bristol. The game was scheduled for Saturday, but it was suspended in the first inning because of persistent rain. Hurston Waldrep (1-0) was on the mound for Atlanta when play resumed. The right-hander was brought up from Triple-A Gwinnett and traveled about 250 miles to Bristol Motor Speedway early Sunday morning. He pitched 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball for his first career win. The Reds loaded the bases with two out in the eighth after a balk by Tyler Kinley and a walk by Tyler Stephenson. Ke'Bryan Hayes then hit a hard grounder to third, but Luke Williams made a diving stop and threw to second for the forceout. This was the first time in six games between these teams that it was decided by more than a single run. Braves: RHP Erick Fedde (3-11, 5.33 ERA) starts Monday against Milwaukee. Reds: LHP Nick Lodolo (8-6, 3.09 ERA) starts Monday at the Cubs. ___ AP MLB:
