Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday visited the Karni Mata Temple in Rajasthan's Bikaner where he offered prayers and sought blessings for the 'well-being of the nation".
Sharing moments from the visit on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said, 'In Bikaner, I had the privilege of visiting and offering prayers at the Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok. I prayed to the Goddess Mother for the happiness, prosperity, health, and well-being of the nation's people."

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the newly redeveloped Deshnok railway station in Bikaner, designed to reflect the architecture of the Karni Mata temple. The station aims to better serve the large number of devotees and tourists who visit the shrine each year.
PM Modi also flagged off the Bikaner-Mumbai Express from Deshnok and laid the foundation stone and dedicated several development projects worth over Rs 26,000 crore to the nation. These projects span across sectors such as infrastructure, railways, and public amenities.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, and other dignitaries.
In addition to the Bikaner events, PM Modi virtually inaugurated 103 redeveloped 'Amrit Stations' across 86 districts in 18 states and Union territories. These upgraded stations have been developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at a total cost of Rs 1,100 crore.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to address a public gathering later in the day at Palana in Bikaner district.

The question now being asked: Has Donald Trump's aggressive trade policy inadvertently triggered the rise of a powerful R-I-C-H bloc? What Is 'RICH'? A new alliance named 'RICH'—short for Russia, India, and China—could pose an even greater challenge to the United States than the BRICS. The acronym itself, symbolizing 'wealth and prosperity,' hints at a formidable coalition. While Russia has previously called for stronger India-Russia-China cooperation, current global tensions and Trump's policies may make this partnership more realistic than ever before. 'RICH' vs America GDP Power: America has a GDP of US Donald 28 trillion (Rs. 23 lakh crore), but the combined GDP of Russia, India, and China is close behind at Rs. 21 lakh crore. Population Power: Together, India, China, and Russia are home to nearly 3 billion people—about 37 percent of the world's population—far surpassing the U.S., which has just 330 million people or 4 percent of the global total. Military Strength: The combined military strength of the three nations is 4.8 million troops, compared to America's 1.3 million. Even when factoring in NATO allies, the numbers still tilt heavily toward the RICH bloc. Nuclear Arsenal: RICH nations possess approximately 6,300 nuclear weapons, compared to America's 5,200. Defense Capabilities, Self-Sufficiency While the U.S. remains the world's largest arms producer, Russia and China also rank among the top global arms manufacturers. India, too, is rapidly advancing toward self-reliance in defense production. Together, the three countries could pose a significant challenge to NATO on land, at sea, and in the air. However, experts caution that military confrontation between global powers could have catastrophic consequences, making economic and diplomatic battles more likely. Notably, these countries are also resource-rich and largely self-sufficient: Energy: Russia holds vast reserves of oil, gas, and coal and is a major exporter of fossil fuels. India is advancing in nuclear and solar energy, while China leads globally in the manufacture of solar panels and wind turbines. Natural Resources: Russia has significant reserves of titanium, nickel, cobalt, and uranium. China accounts for over 60 percent of global rare earth metal production. India, meanwhile, is rich in bauxite, iron ore, graphite, and manganese. Agriculture: India is the world's largest producer of milk and pulses. Russia leads in wheat exports, while China excels in agricultural machinery and food production. In short, if united, these three nations would have little need for external support in energy, food, or defense. It has, however, been nearly 2 years since the Sc is also a petition pending before the Supreme Court of India, likely to be heard on August 8, seeking restoration of statehood to J&K. The petition has argued that delay in restoration of statehood is 'gravely affecting the rights of the inhabitants of Jammu andKashmir and also violating the basic structure of federalism.'WHAT DOES STATEHOOD MEAN UNDER THE CONSTITUTION?States are the foundational units of India's federal structure. According to a paper by former Law Commission member P.M. Bakshi, 'The essence of federalism lies in the sharing of legal sovereignty by the Union and the federating units.'advertisementDemarcation of legislative power between the Center and the states also helps in defining the boundaries of the executive power shared by the two, as usually the legislative power controls the powers of the Executive legislatures have exclusive powers over subjects enumerated in List II of the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution and concurrent powers over those enumerated in List powers of the legislature include authorisation of all expenditure, taxation and borrowing by the state legislatures, apart from exercising the usual power of financial control, use all normal parliamentary devices like questions, discussions, debates, adjournments and no-confidence motions and resolutions to keep a watch over day-to-day work of the executive. Currently, the role of the Administrator of J&K and Ladakh is held by the Lieutenant Governor (LG).At present, following the J&K Reorganisation, the Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have limited powers to legislate and the Reorganisation Act, the UT of J&K has been included under Article 239A of the Constitution, which means that the UT has a legislative Assembly with 107 seats that are filled by direct UT of Ladakh is directly administered by the President, which means that it does not have an elected Assembly, and the Parliament of India passes any laws and monitors the administration of the the parliament under these provisions can introduce changes to the powers of the UT legislature, the J&K Reorganisation Act has granted extensive powers to the LG. Which means that, effectively, the Home Minister of India has control over the Police and bureaucratic apparatus in both union to Section 36 relating to Financial Bills in the Reorganisation Act 2019, no Bill or amendment shall be introduced in the Legislative Assembly without the recommendation of the Lieutenant Governor, if such a Bill deals with amendment of the law of any financial obligation taken or to be incurred by the legislature of the Union Territory, among other provision has had wide significance as virtually every policy decision may give rise to a financial obligation for the Union Territory.
