KL Immigration raids three factories employing illegal foreign workers
Its director, Mohammed Saupee Wan Yusoff said in the operation, which began at 10 am, a total of 352 individuals involving 283 men and 69 women were inspected.
He said that the initial inspection found that 26 foreign nationals, involving citizens of Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Myanmar and Nigeria, suspected of working illegally were detained.
'All those detained, aged between 28 and 50, have been taken to the Kuala Lumpur Immigration Depot for documentation and further action.
'Two local men acting as employers were also detained under Section 56(1)(d) of the Immigration Act 1963,' he said to reporters after the operation.
Mohammed Saupee also said that four Immigration Form 29, which are summonses, were issued to witnesses during the inspection.
He added that the case is being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 as well as Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963.

KOTA KINABALU: A 21-year-old Filipino man was arrested at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) for allegedly attempting to leave the country using a travel pass with forged endorsements. The man was stopped by the Malaysian Border Control Agency (MBCA) during a routine inspection yesterday. Authorities discovered that the man had a Social Visit Pass bearing an entry endorsement dated July 28 and an exit endorsement dated July 30. Checks with the Immigration Department revealed that neither stamp was recorded in the system, raising suspicions of forgery. "Further inspection also uncovered two boarding passes in the suspect's possession — one for a flight to Kuala Lumpur on July 30, and another to Manila, Philippines, the following day," MBCA said in a statement today. Immigration nabs dozens of foreigners in raids on Pontian nightclubs
PONTIAN: A total of 29 foreigners were arrested for various immigration offences in an operation involving three entertainment centres here. Johor Immigration director Datuk Mohd Rusdi Mohd Darus said the suspects, aged between 18 and 40, were arrested during an operation codenamed Ops Gegar, conducted at around midnight on Wednesday (July 30) in Pontian. 'A total of 69 individuals, including locals, were inspected during the operation. 'Further checks led to the arrest of 17 Vietnamese women, 11 Indonesian women and an Indonesian man. 'The suspects are believed to have misused their social visit pass and temporary work visit pass to work as waitresses at the entertainment centres,' he said in a statement on Friday. He added that the department also arrested three local men, believed to be managers and supervisors of the centres. Mohd Rusdi said the foreigners were detained under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for entering and staying in Malaysia without valid permits. They are also being investigated under Section 15(1)(c) of the Act for overstaying, and Section 56(1)(i) for possessing false or altered entry permits, passes or certificates. 'They are also believed to have committed offences under Regulation 11(7)(a) of the Immigration Regulations 1963 for misusing social visit passes, and Regulation 39(b) for violating the conditions of their passes. 'Meanwhile, the three Malaysians were detained for harbouring foreigners under Section 56(1)(d) of the Immigration Act 1959/63,' he said. Mohd Rusdi added that a total of 17 notices were issued to individuals to appear at the department's enforcement division to assist with investigations. 'All detainees are being held at the Pekan Nanas Immigration Depot for investigation and further action,' he said.
