Top Tech: Argos beats Shark, Amazon and more with summer clearance sale
Argos has launched a huge clearance sale with discounts on top brands like Apple, Shark, and Samsung. The retailer is beating many of the big names with its rival deals that are cheaper than shopping directly with the brand.
Shoppers can head to the Argos clearance sale for the full range of deals, but we've pulled together a handful that caught our eye. There's savings up for grabs on TVs, smartphones and home appliances, ideal for upgrading an aging device without breaking the bank.
Among the best deals we came across are a Shark vacuum cleaner, Apple iPhone and 4K smart TV, with some prices slashed by more than £150. So read on for a selection of our favourite deals in the Argos clearance sale.
Shark Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Vacuum Cleaner – £240 (was £320)
Argos has beaten Shark's own £319.99 price tag with this Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Vacuum Cleaner deal. This model boasts Shark's signature Anti Hair Wrap technology, which removes hair from the brush-roll as it cleans to make it the ideal tool for homes with pets.
It can tackle both carpet and hard floss, has a 40-minute run-time and LED lights in the floorhead to illuminate hard-to-see dirt. This model has earned a 4.6-star rating, with shoppers impressed by its strong suction and lightweight design, while some have criticised its battery life.
43' TCL 4K UHD Smart TV – £198
Shoppers looking to upgrade their TV without breaking the bank may want to check out this 43' TCL 4K UHD Smart TV. While Argos isn't stating its previous price, it claims to be the lowest ever offered for this model, beating Very 's £218 price tag.
Released last year, this model delivers brighter brights, darker darks and more detail thanks to HDR10, while Dolby Audio sound ensures immersive viewing. It also has streaming apps like Netflix and Disney+ built in, along with Freeview access without the need for a satellite dish.
Argos has also reduced the 55' model, now at £298. But of the 43', shoppers have hailed it as 'great value for money' thanks to its 'impressive' image and user-friendly smart features such as Alexa voice control, while some have found the sound quality lacking.
iPhone 15 Pro Max – £892 (was £1,049)
Apple fans can save £157 on this iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB, which hit the shelves in 2023 and is now hard to come by. It's currently £207 cheaper than the iPhone 16 Pro Max (£1,099) at Amazon and is compatible with the latest iOS updates despite not being the latest model.
When it launched, this was the most premium device in Apple's iPhone range, powered by the brand's A17 Pro chip and boasting a 6.7' Super Retina XDR display. It's designed with a strong and lightweight 'aerospace-grade' titanium design and can deliver an 'all-day' battery life.
Samsung Jet Bot+ Robot Vacuum Cleaner – £525 (was £700)
This Samsung Jet Bot+ cleans throughout the house all on its own thanks to an innovative sensor and mapping system. It automatically prevents hair tangles and comes with a clean station where the gadget returns to empty its dustbin.
The robot vacuum can clean carpet, rugs and hard floors, with a run-tim of up to 90 minutes, while users can monitor it in real time with Samsung's SmartThings App. After 76 reviews, 88% of customers recommend the Jet Bot+.
Reviewers have praised its effective cleaning on hard floors and how easy it is to use, but others have said it doesn't perform as well on carpets. Amazon stocks a range of more affordable models, such as the Lefant M210P (£105.99), which frequently appears among the best-sellers.
