Grimes is pressing pause.
The singer—real name Claire Elise Boucher—apologized to fans over pulling out of her upcoming performance in Washington, D.C. celebrating World Pride 'in order to deal with family issues.'
Noting in the May 26 social media message that she is 'so so sorry and regretful,' Grimes continued, 'I want to say that I am aware the situation has been a great inconvenience to the fans for some time, and I am truly determined to make sure this is no longer the case very soon.'
The 'Genesis' singer also expressed her confidence that the June 6 and 7 festival—which also features Troye Sivan, Kim Petras, Sofi Tukker and a set from RuPaul—is 'still going to be amazing.'
'I hope this is early enough and gives people enough time if they wish to change their plans,' she added. 'And I *will* make this up to you guys very soon.'
Grimes signed her note with, 'So much love always.'

This is not the first time the 37-year-old—who shares kids X Æ A-Xii, 5, Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and Techno Mechanicus, 2, with ex Elon Musk—has alluded to challenges within her personal life, especially when it comes to navigating her coparenting relationship.
Back in February, Grimes took to social media to share a plea with Elon—who shares 14 children with four women, including Grimes—concerning the health of one of their shared children.
'Plz respond about our child's medical crisis,' the artist, who did not reveal which of her children was in crisis, wrote Feb. 20 on X, per screenshots shared by TMZ at the time. 'I am sorry to do this publicly but it is no longer acceptable to ignore this situation. This requires immediate attention.'
She continued, 'If you don't want to talk to me can you please designate or hire someone who can so that we can move forward on solving this. This is urgent, Elon.'
The Visions artist also responded to a user who questioned why she'd brought the personal problem to the public platform.
"I'm not giving any details but he won't respond to texts call or emails and has skipped every meeting and our child will suffer life long impairment if he doesn't respond asap," Grimes replied. "So I need him to f--king respond and if I have to apply public pressure then I guess that's where we're at."

This Reddit Post Breaking Down A MAGA Dad's "Awakening" From Two-Time Trump Voter To Trump Critic Is Going Viral

A Reddit post by a user who claims their father voted for Donald Trump twice has recently gone viral for revealing what finally turned their MAGA dad into a Trump critic. At the start of the post, the redditor explained what initially attracted their father to Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign. "What got him into Trump was the first primary debate he participated in, in which he brutally attacked Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, and the others..." Related: They went on to explain that their father, a business owner, personally benefited from Trump's tax cuts, which made his view of Trump's first presidency a "success," despite events like January 6. According to the redditor, things started to change for their father when Trump's tariff war threw his business into "disarray." Related: The negative financial impact of Trump's tariff war made their father seek out more "accurate reporting" of Trump, and the new information "awakened" him. Related: "He wishes Trump would stop being such an idiotic fuckup." And finally, the post ended with the redditor's realization about changing the minds of "casual Trump voters." "You can bring all that stuff up, and they'll just wave it off. But as soon as he does do something harmful that affects them, they can be turned." After reading the post, people in the comments shared their perspective on "uniformed voters" who supported Trump. "I just think so many people drank the 'John Wayne' kool aid in the Reaganite '80s, the idea that, like the lone gunslinger, Americans are singular, self sufficient individuals, not members of a society. So many in the U.S. bought that BS wholesale, like this guy's Dad," one user wrote. "He thinks he only need care about his business, his family and his bikes, but he forgets that for businesses to flourish he needs society at large to be healthy, he needs trade rules to be enforced, and he needs stability in trade hates paying taxes, but never thinks about why the roads are maintained, why water comes out of the tap or electricity out of the socket. He's been trained and rewarded to see himself as a lone entity, independent of all social bonds. Now he's been uncomfortably reminded he is part of an interdependent society, but I'm sure he'll forget the reminder soon enough. Individualism is too deeply ingrained in his psyche for him to abandon it now." Related: "Everyone keeps saying 'they voted for this.' But in reality, some didn't. There are lots of uninformed voters out there. I'm not excusing it, but it's true. My dad is the same way," another user admitted. "He liked the sound bites he saw about draining the swamp and liked the idea of a businessman instead of a career politician. My dad is woefully misinformed and wouldn't listen to me either. But he's not an evil monster. Just complacent and kinda ignorant. He's also 83, so there's that." "They're not going to figure out Trump sucks until they get burned by the hot stove," this user wrote. "I think there is a large portion of classic Republicans, not the MAGA people, who probably just didn't give a shit about most of Trump's agenda harming other people." And finally, "I feel like the real takeaway from this is that the dad is against something Trump did, but still doesn't regret his vote." "The popular Reddit sentiment is that conservatives are feeling regret now that his policies are hurting them, but the actual sad truth is that given the opportunity at a revote, they'd probably vote for Trump again because they're convinced Harris would've still been worse or as bad as Trump anyway," another user wrote. Brennan Lee Mulligan Will Lead the Fourth ‘Critical Role' Campaign

Every new campaign for Critical Role provides a shakeup in some way, whether it's a new location or cast of characters. With the upcoming fourth campaign, the Actual Play series sees its biggest change yet with Brennan Lee Mulligan in the Game Master's seat. Mulligan, who runs games for his own Actual Play series Dimension 20 over on Dropout and the Critical Role miniseries Calamity, will take helm of a full campaign set to begin on October 2. During Critical Role's live event on Saturday, he came on stage as part of the announcement. This new campaign will be set outside the Exandria setting of the first three—'Vox Machina,' 'Mighty Nein,' and 'Bells Hells'—and help to give original Critical DM Matthew Mercer a break. 'We've been enormous fans of Brennan's for many years now, and…he felt like the perfect storyteller to take our community somewhere entirely new,' said Critical alum and CEO Travis Willingham. 'Critical Role has always been about genuine connection through storytelling first and foremost, and as Brennan himself will tell you, he's still played more TTRPGs away from a camera than in front of it. His passion and drive for worldbuilding is infectious, and it's been an absolute joy to spark off him as we forge ahead.' For Dimension 20 fans wondering how this change affects that show, Mulligan will still to lead that show. Per Variety, he recently renewed his contract with the media company for another three years, which includes a 'new long-term contract for nonstop new seasons of D20,' said Mulligan on Instagram. At least two of those seasons will bring back the Intrepid Heroes who've headlined Fantasy High, Unsleeping City, and the current season Cloudward, Ho!. His separate Actual Play series Worlds Beyond Number will also continue. 'Needless to say, I'm finally playing almost as much tabletop as I'd like to!' he continued. 'It's a gift, honor, and privilege to set out on this new epic adventure with Critical Role.' Want more io9 news?
