Dante Moore lands notable QB ranking among Big Ten signal-callers
On the one hand, there are high expectations for Moore, a former 5-star recruit who was rated as the No. 4 player in the 2023 class. In his handful of starts with the UCLA Bruins as a true freshman, he showed some promise, displaying impressive arm talent and accuracy. However, he also struggled with consistency and decision-making, throwing nine interceptions alongside his 11 touchdowns.
Since his freshman season, we haven't seen much of Moore, as he backed up Dillon Gabriel in Eugene last season. While the spring game earlier this year provided a solid opportunity for Moore to impress, it's fair for anyone to still want to see No. 5 in a game before anointing him as the next big thing in Eugene.
So, how do you rank him among Big Ten quarterbacks going into the new season? Put him near the top, and you're risking disappointment, but put him too low, and you leave yourself open to looking foolish should he play up to expectations.
Earlier this week, USA TODAY ranked the passers in the conference from best to worst, with Moore coming in at No. 4 on the list, which is respectable considering his lack of production but high upside.
"Moore started at UCLA in 2023 and then spent last season learning the Ducks' system behind Dillon Gabriel," Paul Myerberg wrote. "Look for the former five-star recruit to grab this opportunity and run with it to become the next super-productive Oregon starter."
Here's how the top 10 QBs fleshed out:
Of course, Moore still has to beat out Austin Novosad to win the QB1 spot this fall, but should he do that, there is a hope among the fanbase that he can lead the Ducks back to the Big Ten Championship game and into the College Football Playoff once again this year.

Oregon football way-too-early bold predictions for 2025 season
The post Oregon football way-too-early bold predictions for 2025 season appeared first on ClutchPoints. Oregon football will have every Big Ten team gunning for the Ducks this fall. Including the defending national champion Ohio State. Advertisement The Ducks stood alone as the conference champion. All after officially joining the Big Ten last season. Oregon will attempt to dethrone OSU. But 17 conference foes want to snatch the top of the conference. Oregon walks into a much-hyped 2025 campaign. Featuring a loaded defense and a prized former five-star set to take over for Dillon Gabriel. The Ducks are even energizing fans with their recruiting results for the 2026 class. Including landing the prized nephew of the late Kobe Bryant, safety Jett Washington. Will this lead into a long-awaited national championship crown coming back to Eugene? Time to sort through the way-too-early predictions for the Ducks. Advertisement Dante Moore will become better than Dillon Gabriel Ben Lonergan/The Register-Guard / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images That's not hyperbole. Moore possesses more intriguing skills than his predecessor. And Gabriel established himself as a Heisman Trophy finalist in Eugene. Like Gabriel, Moore is another prized transfer. Though he came from Big Ten rival and former Pac-12 foe UCLA. The former five-star watched and learned from the decorated Gabriel. Oregon will unleash Moore. Offensive coordinator Will Stein will orchestrate mismatches using Moore's strong arm and athleticism. Stein is additionally known for giving his QBs freedom — the freedom to adjust at the line of scrimmage based on defensive looks. Advertisement But Stein runs a zone read and RPO offense that emphasizes quick strikes. Tailored made already for Moore. He once drew comparisons to Dallas Cowboys star Dak Prescott out of high school. Moore brings potential to follow Gabriel, Bo Nix and Justin Herbert as the next best Ducks QB. Oregon will turn to prized freshman early Moore isn't the only intriguing new starter. Oregon landed a prized newcomer on the college football recruiting trail who likely won't stand on the sidelines much. Five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore will shark his way up the roster and play. Oregon must find its Tez Johnson replacement right away. And Moore is perfect to fill that void. Advertisement He's described as a RAC (run after catch) demon in his scouting report by 247Sports. Moore originally appeared to be heading to LSU in 2023. Yet Dan Lanning and the Ducks coaching staff managed to pull off the massive flip on Fourth of July of last year. Now the Ducks will aim to create new offensive fireworks from the speedy Duncanville WR. Moore will attempt to go deep right away with the cat-quick wideout. This edge rusher will garner NFL hype Oregon gets blessed with more than one season of Moore and Moore at QB/WR, respectively. But one talented defender will garner NFL hype and eventually place his name into the 2026 ringer. Advertisement Matayo Uiagalelei plastered quarterbacks to the ground with 10.5 sacks. That production plastered his name onto NFL Draft boards. Uiagalelei will do more than win over teams with his pass rushing. He's big and versatile enough to line up in multiple defensive line spots. The powerful 6-foot-5, 270-pounder will command top 10 attention if he improves his run defense. But he brings the tools and versatility to draw NFL personnel in to Eugene this fall. Oregon will be in Big Ten title mix, but won't repeat The conference will take the Ducks more seriously this time around. That includes the other former Pac-12 teams that crossed over. Advertisement Oregon brings enough returning talent to stay in the mix for the conference title. But Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan are three anticipated to pursue a trip to Indianapolis for the Big Ten championship. USC is rising as a dark horse Big Ten contender following an aggressive offseason of changes. The Ducks jump to 4-0 before the Nittany Lions trip them up. Oregon rebounds the following week by hosting Indiana. The Nov. 22 home contest against USC will come with conference title game/college football playoff implications. Oregon's ceiling is 10-2, still good enough to earn a postseason bid. They just enter a more competitive Big Ten this time around for the fall. Georgia football lands pivotal 4-star tight end commitment
The post Georgia football lands pivotal 4-star tight end commitment appeared first on ClutchPoints. As the summer months pass by and fall draws closer, the Georgia football program's focus on 2025 solidifies. Head coach Kirby Smart and his roster are looking to make another run at not only the SEC Championship, but a spot in the College Football Playoff again. Quarterback Gunnar Stockton is entering his first season as the top signal caller. If things go well and he returns to Athens in 2026, then he will have a new weapon to target. According to on3's Hayes Fawcett on X (formerly Twitter), the Georgia football team has gained a commitment from four-star tight end Brayden Fogle. 'BREAKING: Four-Star TE Brayden Fogle has Committed to Georgia, he tells me for @rivals,' posted Fawcett on the social media platform. 'The 6'4 235 TE from Mansfield, OH chose the Bulldogs over LSU and Penn State. 'All Glory to God!! Go Dawgs!'' Advertisement The Georgia football program has developed its fair share of tight ends throughout team history. Benjamin Watson was a former first-rounder who had a long NFL career. Orson Charles starred when Bulldogs legend Aaron Murray played quarterback at the school. Of course, Fogle would also be following in the footsteps of Brock Bowers, who could be the best player to ever play the position for the Georgia football program. Could Fogle reach those heights with Stockton and his successors throwing him the football? Could Brayden Fogle follow in Georgia football legend Brock Bowers' steps? Mandatory Credit: © Jake Furr/News Journal / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Coming off another SEC Championship win and College Football Playoff appearance, Smart and the Bulldogs will almost certainly want to go further in not only 2025, but beyond as well. If Stockton has a great junior season, he could leave early. But if he decides to come back in 2026 for another run, then Fogle will be waiting for him. Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo has plenty of options at the position moving forward, yet Fogle could be a difference maker early on. Advertisement That's something that Bowers was able to do as well. He starred for the Georgia football team as almost as soon as he arrived in Athens. Smart's staff knew how to utilize him, particularly under former offensive coordinator Todd Monken. Can Bobo get the same type of production out of Fogle in 2026? That is certainly something that all parties hope will happen. College Football News writer Peter Fiutak makes a win total prediction for Clemson in 2025
Where does Clemson football land in 2026 national recruiting rankings after busy month? Under Dabo Swinney, Clemson football heads into another season with playoff hopes — but the betting line isn't quite as high as the national chatter suggests. The Tigers' win total is set at 9.5, which they've only topped once in the past three seasons after dominating that mark during their mid-2010s run. College Football News' Pete Fiutak actually places his projection a tick lower at nine wins, yet he isn't dismissing what this roster can do. 'The Tigers will know right out of the gate if they're for real,' Fiutak said, pointing to the huge early showdown with LSU. From there, he sees enough tricky matchups to test Clemson's focus but thinks this team can still reach the College Football Playoff without an ACC title if it handles its business. A major piece of the puzzle is whether the defensive front can look more like the unit that anchored Clemson's last national championship. Fiutak highlights how in 2018 'no one averaged over four yards per carry' against that front, but last season the Tigers were gashed on the ground far too often. He noted that four teams — Texas, Georgia, South Carolina and Louisville — all averaged more than six yards per carry and beat Clemson as a result. On offense, Fiutak says the line has to be the foundation. Four starters return, with Blake Miller and Walker Parks both landing in his top 10 Clemson players. 'The skill guys get all of the love and attention, but if Clemson is going to have an expected huge season offensively, it starts with the line loaded with All-ACC-caliber talents,' Fiutak said. The backfield is another question mark. Freshman Gideon Davidson is viewed as a potential difference-maker, especially if Jay Haynes can't bounce back from his knee injury. Fiutak thinks Cade Klubnik's growth as a runner helps, but Clemson will need Davidson to be ready if they want to lean on the ground game late in the year. In the bigger picture, Fiutak frames 2025 as a test for Swinney's patient, recruit-and-develop blueprint. 'Maybe this is how you're really supposed to do it… Maybe it just took a few years to get here,' he said. For a program chasing its old standard in a new era, Clemson has a chance to prove its way still works.
