Angel Reese's Former Teammate With 0 Minutes Played This Season Makes Career Move
The Valkyries have already lost a number of their players ahead of the EuroBasket tournament this month. Janelle Salaun, Julie Vanloo, Cecilia Zandalasini and Temi Fagbenle have temporarily parted ways with the team to represent their respective countries in the international tournament.
This only means that Golden State, which currently holds a 5-5 record in its inaugural season, will need to bring in a few warm bodies to fill the void.
The team announced on Sunday that one of the players they have decided to bring in is former Maryland star Chloe Bibby, who played two seasons alongside Angel Reese with the Terrapins.
"Roster Update: The Golden State Valkyries have signed forward @chloelbibby. Bibby will join the team immediately and be available against Dallas on Tuesday," the team posted on X.
Bibby has been given a tremendous opportunity to show what she's worth now that she's signed a deal with the Valkyries. The 27-year-old penned a training camp contract with Golden State earlier this year, but she was ultimately waived during the final roster cuts.
Bibby has not played a single minute in the WNBA. She signed a training camp contract with the Minnesota Lynx in 2022 after going undrafted, but she also failed to make the final cut.
The 6-foot-2 forward could now finally make her WNBA debut, potentially as early as Tuesday's game against the Dallas Wings.
Bibby played two seasons for Maryland between 2020 and 2022, averaging 12.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. Playing alongside Reese before the Chicago Sky star made the move to LSU, Bibby helped lead the Terps to back-to-back NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearances in 2021 and 2022.

Ice Cube Doesn't Hold Back On Difference Between Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese
Ice Cube Doesn't Hold Back On Difference Between Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese originally appeared on The Spun. When Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese were coming out of school, hip-hop legend and BIG3 founder Ice Cube extended a $5 million contract offer to the former Iowa star to be the first female athlete in his upstart 3-on-3 league — but the same wasn't offered to Reese. Catching up with TMZ Sports over the weekend, Cube revealed his reasoning for only offering Caitlin the seven-figure deal over Angel. Saying how the BIG3's corporate sponsors assured him it would be worth the investment and they "didn't tell us the same thing about Angel Reese." "I don't think we can make that same offer because it won't have the same impact to the league," the West Coast MC said. Clark ended up turning down the league's advances and was drafted first overall by the Indiana Fever that spring, while Reese slid to the seven spot and the Chicago Sky. Both ladies had a tremendous impact in their first seasons though, with Angel nearly setting the WNBA's single-season rebounding record and Caitlin setting all-time marks of her own while skyrocketing the league's attendance and viewership. The former LSU All-American has talked about how her WNBA earnings are just a small part of what she makes compared to her off-court endorsements where she's been able to monetize her popularity (and divisiveness) among fans. Angel has landed everything from Vogue spreads to her very own cover of NBA 2K — and she's also set to debut her first signature shoe with Reebok. And while Caitlin Clark still may be one of sports' biggest draws, there are plenty of opportunities to be had for the W's other players on this wave that she helped Cube Doesn't Hold Back On Difference Between Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese first appeared on The Spun on Jul 27, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Jul 27, 2025, where it first appeared.

Wings' Paige Bueckers to a ref: 'Do you need my glasses?'
Paige Bueckers wasn't available to play on Sunday, a bummer for the Dallas Wings. It did set up one of the funniest moments of their matchup with the Las Vegas Aces, though. After one call went against Dallas, the broadcast cameras focused in on Bueckers. On this day, in casual clothes on the bench, Bueckers was rocking some glasses. And so, she stood up, took a few steps toward an official, and asked, "Do you need my glasses?" Sometimes, that feels like it might be a fair question. That was the high point of the day for the Wings, who lost by 26 to Vegas without Bueckers. They'll just be hoping she can be back soon, because as fun as her referee interactions are when she's not on the court, Bueckers is much more fun in the game.
