New Delhi, Jun 21 (PTI) India Inc leaders on Saturday gave a clarion call to make yoga a part of lifestyle, asserting that the 'precious gift from India' provides path of pure discipline, resilience, and endless self-discovery.
She further wrote, 'The most profound? How deeply our breath is tied to our emotions. It's a game-changer: learn to control your breath, and you'll find you can navigate your emotional world. This path is pure discipline, resilience, and endless self-discovery. Happy Yoga Day!' Similarly, Jindal Steel and Power Chairman Naveen Jindal said, 'Yoga is a precious gift from India – it is a discipline, a practice, and a way of life. Let's make yoga our lifestyle.' Jindal, who is also a BJP Member of Parliament, said he did yoga in an event with yoga guru Ramdev, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Chief Minister Nayab Saini, Health Minister Arti Singh Rao and former minister Subhash Sudha along 'with thousands of people on the sacred land of Brahmasarovar in the holy city of Kurukshetra and gave the message of spiritual peace and health'.
Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd (IREDA) Chairman & Managing Director, Pradip Kumar Das along with IREDA Director (Finance) Bijay Kumar Mohanty took part in the celebration of the 11th International Day of Yoga at Sunder Nursery here in the capital.
Senior government officials, including Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy; Nidhi Khare, Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs and Sanjeev Chopra, Secretary, Department of Food and Public Distribution also attended the event.
Coal India arm Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL) said it organised large-scale celebrations across its operational areas, in line with this year's global theme: 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health' and the national motto 'Yog Se Yogya'.
Over 1,500 participants, including employees, villagers, and stakeholders, gathered for a collective yoga session at Piparwar area of Jharkhand, it said.
Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs; and Minister of Power, Manohar Lal led a special yoga session at Jantar Mantar in which ministry officials also took part, promoting India's rich cultural heritage and underscoring the harmony between tradition and wellness. PTI TEAM RKL HVA

In an apparent reference to the recent death of popular TV actor Shefali Jariwala, the court said, 'See what happened two-three days back…' News reports suggest Jariwala was taking anti-ageing treatment for the last several years. The petitioner claimed the licenses have been issued without conducting any specific trials and studies and without noting the serious adverse health effects of the drugs. 'These drugs were originally developed and internationally approved for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, with their primary therapeutic role being the regulation of glycemic levels. However, over the past few years, they have been repurposed and approved often through accelerated pathways for obesity treatment and chronic weight management, based largely on short-term efficacy trials,' the plea said. It said under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, it is the DCGI which is the competent and statutory authority entrusted with taking appropriate measures to ensure safe use of drugs. The petitioner said representations were made on April 18 to the Centre and DCGI on the issue. The court, however, said the plea's concerns have to be first looked into and addressed by the DCGI as it allowed the petitioner to move the authority by way of an additional representation and bring relevant material and documents to its notice. The additional representation was directed to be submitted to the DGCI within a fortnight. 'In case such an additional representation is preferred enclosing all the documents and material necessary for addressing the issue raised in the writ petition, the same shall be attended to and considered appropriately and as per law by the authority concerned,' the court said. Jharkhand man undergoes robot-assisted cementless knee surgery in Delhi, walks same day
A 54-year-old man from Jharkhand, who had been battling severe knee pain for the past eight years, underwent a robot-assisted cementless medial pivot total knee replacement surgery in Delhi and took his first steps the very same day. He underwent surgery at Max Super Speciality Hospital in Saket(Representational image) Brij Kishor from Dhanbad in Jharkhand had been battling chronic knee pain and progressive joint damage for over eight years. During this period, he sought treatment from local doctors, tried homoeopathic medicine and even travelled to Kolkata for medical consultations. Eventually, he came to Delhi, the patient told PTI. On June 23, he underwent surgery at Max Super Speciality Hospital in Saket. According to a statement issued by the hospital, he was diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis in both knees, along with complex deformities such as varus (bow-legged) and flexion (bent-knee) contractures. He had been unable to walk without support. The surgery was led by Dr Sujoy Bhattacharjee, chairman, Max Institute of Robotic Joint Replacement, who used advanced robotic technology (CUVIS robotic system) along with a cementless medial pivot cruciate-retaining (CR) implant to restore the patient's mobility. The implant's design allows natural bone growth around it, eliminating the need for traditional cement and offering better integration, greater joint stability and improved long-term outcomes, Bhattacharjee said. "This is a global first in robotic joint replacement. The precision enabled by the robot and the use of a cementless implant result in faster recovery and a more natural joint feel for the patient," he claimed. Speaking about the patient's recovery, Dr Bhattacharjee said, "He was barely able to walk before surgery. But on the day of the operation itself, he managed to walk with assistance. Within just a few days, he was walking independently with renewed confidence."
