Sabrina Carpenter considers banning phones at future concerts when her skin is no longer "soft and supple"

Pop star Sabrina Carpenter has shared that she would consider banning mobile phones at her future concerts.
The singer cited a recent experience at a Silk Sonic show in Las Vegas, where attendees had their devices locked away in pouches, as inspiration. 'I've never had a better experience at a concert,' she said. 'It really felt so beautiful. Everyone was singing, dancing, looking at each other, and laughing.'
Carpenter, known for her recent hits 'Espresso' and 'Please Please Please,' added that while smartphones have become the norm at shows, she values the idea of fans being fully present. 'I can't blame people for wanting to have memories,' she said. 'But depending on how long I want to be touring, and what age I am, girl, take those phones away.'
Alongside her thoughts on live performances, Carpenter opened up about her tour rituals, revealing she does a cold plunge backstage before each show. 'It's me in full glam and stage curls… from neck down, I'm nude,' she joked.
She also touched on her deep creative bond with her sister Sarah and producer Jack Antonoff, who helped shape her latest album.
Carpenter is currently preparing to release her new project Man's Best Friend on August 29, just a year after Short n' Sweet.

Sabrina Carpenter offers God-approved alternate album cover

Pop star Sabrina Carpenter, 26, has addressed widespread criticism of her upcoming album Man's Best Friend by unveiling a new, more modest album cover. The announcement came June 25, 2025, following intense backlash against the original art. The initial cover showed Carpenter on her knees with a man tugging her hair, an image that sparked controversy for its perceived misogynistic symbolism. In response, Carpenter quietly released a black-and-white alternate cover showing her elegantly holding a man's arm while dressed in a glamorous gown. She humorously noted this version was 'approved by God' and made it available through signed vinyl and cassette editions. The decision drew praise from female music icon Carly Simon, who defended Carpenter's artistic choices. Simon compared the original cover to her own provocative 1975 album and said it 'seems tame' in context of music history. Despite the alternate edition quickly selling out, both versions will remain available, Carpenter's move seen as a savvy blend of creative expression with audience sensitivity. Her lead single 'Manchild' has already topped charts in multiple countries, and the full album is set for release on August 29, 2025.
