Richa Chadha Calls Radhika Yadav's Father A ‘Loser', Slams Those Justifying Her Murder

Richa Chadha calls Radhika Yadav's father a 'coward' and slams social media users defending her murder. 'The world will remember Deepak Yadav as a loser,' she says.
Bollywood actress Richa Chadha has strongly condemned those defending the brutal killing of former junior tennis player Radhika Yadav, who was shot dead by her father, Deepak Yadav, at their Gurugram residence on July 10. The 25-year-old athlete was allegedly killed after a heated argument, with her father later confessing to the crime. According to police, Deepak cited frustration over being financially dependent on his daughter and feeling humiliated by societal taunts.
Taking to her official X (formerly Twitter) account on July 13, Richa Chadha did not mince her words. Reacting to a video shared by Radhika's friend, Himanshikha Singh Rajput, who claimed Radhika was often shamed for wearing shorts, speaking to boys, and living life on her terms, Richa lashed out at the patriarchal mindset and those attempting to rationalize the murder.
There is no honour in killing your own child. If a few wagging tongues said stuff to him earlier, now the whole world will remember Deepak Yadav as a loser, forever. Deepak Yadav, you have cemented your place as a LOSER and a COWARD in the annals of history. https://t.co/XZGIbaWZsX — RichaChadha (@RichaChadha) July 13, 2025
'There is no honour in killing your own child. If a few wagging tongues said stuff to him earlier, now the whole world will remember Deepak Yadav as a loser, forever," she wrote. 'Deepak Yadav, you have cemented your place as a LOSER and a COWARD in the annals of history."
Richa further responded to an X user who remarked, 'The most pathetic thing is men justifying it. I mean wtf is even happening here?" with a curt but cutting reply: 'Losers too."
The actress's statements come amid disturbing trends on social media, where some users shockingly called Deepak a 'hero" after reports surfaced that Radhika had been dating a Muslim boy. While police are still investigating all possible triggers, initial statements suggest the tennis academy run by Radhika was a point of friction, as it made her the financial provider of the household—something Deepak reportedly resented.
Adding another layer of complexity, Radhika had also featured in a 2024 romantic music video alongside independent artist Inam-ul-Haq, who clarified to ANI that he had no recent contact with her and had nothing to do with the tragedy.
Radhika was shot four times—three bullets in her back and one in the shoulder. Her body was handed over to the family after postmortem and taken to her native village in Wazirabad for last rites on July 11.
As outrage continues to build, Richa Chadha's vocal stand is a reminder of the urgent need to confront the toxic notions of honour, control, and gendered violence that still lurk in the shadows of modern Indian society.

ED questions Robert Vadra for 5 hours in Sanjay Bhandari-linked PMLA case

Robert Vadra, the businessman husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, was on Monday questioned for about five hours by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case linked to UK-based arms consultant Sanjay Bhandari and some others, official sources said. The 56-year-old Vadra arrived at the federal probe agency's office located in central Delhi after 11 am. He was accompanied by Priyanka Gandhi, MP from Kerala's Wayanad Lok Sabha seat. The session ended shortly after 5 pm, during which Vadra once went out during lunch hour. The businessman's statement was recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the sources said. They said he may be called again for questioning as he allegedly "failed" to answer certain questions regarding his financial links with Bhandari and his family members. He was called by the agency twice last month for questioning in this case, but he sought deferment of his summons as he reported being unwell during the first summons and later had to travel abroad after obtaining approval from a local court. Vadra is being investigated by the agency in three different money laundering cases, including two pertaining to alleged irregularities in land deals. He was questioned by the ED in April for three consecutive days in a case linked to alleged irregularities in a 2008 Haryana land deal case. The businessman is also being investigated by the anti-money laundering agency in a case related to alleged financial irregularities in a land deal in Rajasthan's Bikaner. The case linked to Vadra and Bhandari pertains to the ED findings reported in a chargesheet in 2023, alleging Bhandari "acquired" the 12, Bryanston Square house located in London in 2009 and got it renovated "as per the directions of Vadra and the funds for renovation were provided by Robert Vadra." Vadra has denied that he owns any London property directly or indirectly. Terming these charges as a political witch hunt against him, he said that he was being "hounded and harassed" to subserve political ends. The ED is expected to file a fresh chargesheet in the Bhandari case following the recording of Vadra's statement. The 63-year-old Bhandari fled to London in 2016, soon after the Income Tax department raided him in Delhi. He was recently declared a fugitive economic offender by a Delhi court, paving the way for confiscation of his properties worth crores of rupees. A UK court, sometime back, refused the Indian government's application seeking permission to appeal in Britain's Supreme Court against the discharge of Bhandari in an extradition case against him, virtually ruling out chances of his being brought to the country to face the law.

Maharashtra plans to reduce age of juvenile offenders in drug cases to 16: CM Devendra Fadnavis

The Maharashtra government is mulling lowering the legal age for defining 'juvenile' in drug-related cases to 16, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Monday and noted minors are being increasingly used for narcotics peddling to exploit legal loopholes. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said minors are being increasingly used for drug peddling to exploit legal loopholes.(File/ANI) The state government will amend relevant laws to plug legal loopholes and prevent minors from getting into drug peddling, Fadnavis, who holds the home portfolio, told the assembly. Replying to debate on a calling attention notice, Fadnavis noted the government has already decided to invoke the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against repeat drug traffickers. Fadnavis said minors are being increasingly used for drug peddling to exploit legal loopholes. "The age bar for juveniles (in drug trafficking cases) will be reduced to 16 years (from 18 now) and habitual offenders will be booked under the MCOCA," he told the House. The state legislature has passed a bill for bringing drug peddlers and narcotics crimes under the purview of the MCOCA. The Chief Minister raised concern over the involvement of foreign nationals, particularly Nigerian citizens, in the drug trade. "Although there is a provision (in law) to deport such individuals, many deliberately commit minor offences to avoid deportation. The Centre has been asked to pardon such minor offences so that deportation (of foreign nationals) can take place," he said. In a reply to another calling attention notice, Fadnavis, who heads the energy department, announced the government has approved a scheme to provide free electricity to households consuming up to 100 units through rooftop solar panel installations. "Subsidy will be given to set up rooftop solar panels, which will ensure zero electricity bills for small domestic consumers," he said. Meanwhile, Forest Minister Ganesh Naik informed the lower house that construction activities leading to destruction of mangroves will be stopped and permissions given to developers/contractors for such projects will be reviewed. He was responding to a calling attention notice submitted by MLA Bhaskar Jadhav (Shiv Sena-UBT) with supplementary questions raised by another legislator Sanjay Kelkar (BJP). Referring to alleged mangrove destruction at Rustomjee Urbania, an upscale residential project in adjoining Thane city, Naik said a report in this regard was sought from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) in 2023, but no action was taken for two years. "A high-level inquiry will be conducted within three months, and strict action will be taken against erring officials and developers. Hefty penalties will also be imposed on violators," he assured the assembly.
