The 23XI Racing driver bested a loaded field at the Brickyard 400 on Sunday. Wallace, who had last won a NASCAR race in 2022, ended his 100-plus race losing streak in pretty epic fashion on Sunday night. The driver of the No. 23 Toyota bested Kyle Larson, who finished in second place. "Unbelievable!" Wallace said to his team following the victory at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday evening. But while Wallace celebrated with his team, his fellow drivers and others in the NASCAR community, it was a touching moment with his family that went viral on social media on Sunday evening. Bubba Wallace immediately celebrated with his wife, Amanda Wallace, and their young son, Becks, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. FOX: NASCAR shared the incredibly emotional video on social media on Sunday evening. "First win as a dad for Bubba Wallace. What a moment. NASCAR is family," the outlet shared. Bubba Wallace, who became a dad last year, made it clear that fatherhood has changed him - both as a person and a NASCAR driver. 'We were just talking, wife [Amanda], there you seen it talking about the baby and talking about something else, and it's crazy how you have to compartmentalize things, so it's cool,' Wallace explained earlier this year. His teammate, Tyler Reddick, admitted that he had noticed a change, too. 'Fatherhood will change you in ways you don't expect,' Reddick said. 'I think he's got a good approach right now and am excited to see how he continues to grow and change at being a dad and how that affects racing for him. He seems like he's in a good place right now.' Wallace has made it clear that he's been pushing forward - and forward - despite up and down results over the years. 'I mean, it's nice to be on a consistent roll, knowing that it could change and could be wiped out in a moment. You just have to keep it at bay and be ready for what's next,' Wallace had said. 'Ever since I've been a part of 23XI they've highlighted my weaknesses, and they put the ball in my court. So I appreciate all the tools and resources. But, I think we've gotten better. I will say tomorrow is a total different story.' Wallace and Co. are surely hoping that this will be the first of many wins celebrated between the NASCAR Cup Series driver and his family. With his win, Wallace has clinched a spot in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. His family will very much look forward to watching him compete for a championship later this fall. The veteran NASCAR Cup Series driver, who hadn't won in 100 races, won for the first time in a couple of years on Sunday evening. Wallace, driving the No. 23 Toyota for 23XI Racing, bested a loaded field in Indianapolis. Wallace took home the checkered flag at the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He beat out Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Preece and Brad Keselowski. Congratulations have been pouring in for Wallace across social media - and the NACSAR world as a whole - on Sunday evening. Wallace, meanwhile, had a one-word reaction to his win on Sunday night. "Unbelievable!" he told his team. Larson, who finished in second place, didn't hold back on Wallace following the race. He made it clear that he felt like Wallace was incredibly deserving of the win. "There's nothing you can do here to pass," he said post-race. "I really don't think I could do anything different. Kind of the same thing as me last year. Congrats to Bubba, that's awesome. He's a great dude." With his win on Sunday evening, Wallace has locked up a spot in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. He has to be pumped about that. Wallace missed out on the Cup Series Playoffs in 2024. He was determined to get back - and he has. Angel Reese, Caitlin Clark sit out game as Sky lose to Fever
Kelsey Mitchell hit seven 3-pointers and scored 35 points and the Indiana Fever defeated the Chicago Sky 93-78 in a marquee matchup on Sunday that was missing stars Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. Clark missed her fourth-straight game for Indiana with a groin injury and has only played in half of the team's games and Reese was out for her second straight for the Sky with a back issue. Aliyah Boston had 14 points, 11 rebounds and six assists for the Fever (14-12), who have three double-figure wins over Chicago this season. Makayla Timpson had 14 points off the bench and Aari McDonald added 10. Mitchell had her 100th career 20-point game, second in franchise history behind Tamika Catchings, and her ninth 30-point game. She also picked up her 200th career steal and the Fever turned 23 turnovers into 31 points. Rachel Banham had six 3s and 26 points for the Sky (7-18). Kia Nurse added 14 points, Rebecca Allen 13 and Kamilla Cardoso 12 with 12 rebounds. The Fever had a 16 point lead early in the fourth quarter cut to six with less than five minutes to go but Mitchell responded with a 3-pointer and a couple of free throws to end the threat. Indiana closed out the first quarter on an 18-2 run to lead 26-13. Mitchell had 13 points and the Fever had 14 points off nine Chicago turnovers. The lead reached 16 points in the second quarter before the half ended at 51-39. Chicago got off to a quick start in the third quarter, pulling within 56-55 at the midway point on consecutive jumpers by Nurse. Mitchell responded with a 3 and a layup before consecutive baskets by Timpson pushed the lead to 65-55. Lexie Hull's buzzer beater made it 75-61 entering the fourth quarter.
