Brendan Rodgers is in need of a deputy for Kieran Tierney after Greg Taylor left the club at the end of his contract to sign for Greek side PAOK.
Tierney himself had moved under freedom of contract from Arsenal, returning to his formative club.
A number of names have been put forward but Portuguese outlet Record are now reporting the men from Glasgow's east end have an in interest in Flavio Nazinho at Cercle Brugge.

They will face competition though with Roma and, ironically, Tierney's former club Real Sociedad also taking a look.
Nazinho moved to Brugge after coming through the ranks at Sporting, who would be due 15 per cent of any fee should a move occur this summer.
Last year, the fee paid was €1million and another €1m in add-ons.
Another left-back to have been linked to Celtic in recent days is Manchester United's Tyrell Malacia.

Transfer news live: Spurs' Gibbs-White saga takes explosive twist, Gyokeres on strike, Arsenal agree Madueke

The summer transfer window rolls on as Premier League clubs and those around Europe look to add to their squads. Arsenal 's negotiations for Sporting 's Viktor Gyokeres have stalled over a difference in overall value and terms. However, Gyokeres appears to be taking action over the impasse, with the Sweden striker having refused to show up to Sporting training, while Arsenal have also been busy in agreeing a deal for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke. Tottenham have been busy and have aggressively backed new manager Thomas Frank with a deal for West Ham's Mohammed Kudu s, but despite triggering the release clause for Morgan Gibbs-White, Nottingham Forest are now considering legal action over what they believe to be an illegal approach. Manchester United secured Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m early in this window but a subsequent deal for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo has been slow to develop, while the likes of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho remain at the club despite pushing for a fresh start this summer. Jordan Henderson set to join Brentford as free agent Jordan Henderson is set to return to England by signing for Brentford on a free transfer. The former Liverpool captain left Ajax after deciding not to trigger a 12-month extension to his contract with the Dutch club. And Brentford have moved for the 35-year-old as they look for a replacement for Christian Norgaard, who has joined Arsenal. Henderson, who is likely to sign a two-year contract, is expected to have a medical before completing his move to Brentford, which he hopes will enable him to keep his place in the England squad for next summer's World Cup. The midfielder, who has won 84 caps, was recalled by new England manager Thomas Tuchel, who values his experience. As first reported by the Guardian, the Gunners have beat competition from several clubs - including Women's Super League champions Chelsea - to sign the 20-year-old Canada international. Smith became Liverpool's record signing when she joined from Sporting Lisbon for just over £200,000 last year and she scored seven goals for the Reds in her debut WSL campaign. Arsenal have moved aggressively in the transfer market after winning the Women's Champions League in May and the club want to compete with Chelsea on the domestic front. Arsenal's signing of Smith will eclipse the previous world record transfer in the women's game set by Chelsea in January when they signed US international Naomi Girma for £900,000. Celtic vs Estrela Da Amadora LIVE score and goal updates from the friendly clash in Lisbon

It's a famous city for Celtic fans - and the Hoops are hoping the sun will shine on them again in Lisbon as they ramp up their pre-season plans. And Estrela Da Amadora will provide a stern test for the Scottish Premiership champions in the city where they famously lifted the European Cup. Brendan Rodgers ' men have already won two pre-season games so far this summer, having seen off Queen's Park and Cork City, before jetting off to Portugal. Things only ramp up from here with Sporting next up for the Hoops in their packed calendar ahead of the competitive stuff. But while teams across Scotland are preparing to kick off their campaigns in the Premier Sports Cup in roasting hot temperatures, it's a different story for the the holders. Fans will be hoping to catch and early glimpse of new recruits like Benjamin Nygren and Hayato Inamura in wet and drizzly Portugal as Callum McGregor and Co face the Primeira Liga side. 08:30Anthony Evans Forrest hopeful of Rodgers stay James Forrest insists Celtic's squad are desperate for Brendan Rodgers to stay beyond this season, writes Ryan MacDonald in Lisbon. The Hoops boss is out of contract next summer and has yet to commit to a new deal. Rodgers vowed to see out his initial three-year term after returning for a second stint in 2023. He's been true to his word and has rebuilt his legacy at Parkhead by winning back-to-back Doubles. Is Shin Yamada the man to replace Kyogo for Celtic? CRAIG SWAN: Hard to say. He'll have to be some striker to emulate Kyogo's success at Celtic. Difficult to follow that. ANDY NEWPORT: The Kawasaki Frontale frontman's recent J League record doesn't suggest that he is a natural-born poacher. But you never know, with the right handling Brendan Rodgers could polish up his rough attributes. MICHAEL GANNON: Yamada looks a decent player and he could prove to be another great bit of business from Japan. But his goal record isn't exactly spectacular and Celtic could really do with an experienced front man as well.

Outcomes of 5 Chelsea players signed by Mikel Arteta before Noni Madueke

Mikel Arteta is no stranger to signing Chelsea players and Arsenal are set to finalise a deal for Noni Madueke after agreeing a deal with the Blues for a transfer Noni Madueke looks set to become Arsenal's latest signing in a busy start to July in the transfer market. In the space of a week the England international could join the likes of Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard in arriving at the Emirates. The winger has been provided permission by Chelsea to depart the United States on the eve of the Club World Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain to finalise a £52million move to the Gunners. Madueke is set to sign a five-year deal as he seals a move to the Emirates. ‌ It is not the first time Mikel Arteta has added to his squad from Arsenal's London rivals. And it's not even the first time this summer after the Gunners prised Kepa Arrizabalaga away from Stamford Bridge in a £5m deal little over a week ago. ‌ And it appears whether it is Edu or Andrea Berta in charge of transfers, the club are more than happy to go back to the Chelsea well as they attempt to transform from also-rans to Premier League winners. But how successful has the tactic been so far? Mirror Football takes a look at what happened to the players signed before Madueke and Kepa, with the latter not having had time to make his mark. Willian The Brazilian winger got off to a quick start after joining Arsenal to bag two assists on his debut against Fulham. By the end of the season Willian had just one goal to his name for the club however. ‌ After little over a year at the club, Willian and Arsenal came to an agreement to end his time in north London via mutal consent. The Premier League veteran later described the period as 'the worst time that he had lived as a professional'. Jorginho Jorginho was a 'bit surprised' over his move to Arsenal in January 2023. The £12m deal caught much of the footballing world off guard as Arsenal moved on from trying to sign Moises Caicedo. ‌ "I know he tried a few times to get me before and it didn't happen due to other reasons, not because of my wishes," Jorginho said upon signing for the club. Arteta hoped the signing would add to the squad's depth and the Italian proved useful on his way to 79 appearances across two-and-a-half seasons. Jorginho earned an extension to his initial deal but saw his contract end in 2025 as he opted for a move to Brazil. Kai Havertz The German's move across London was another that raised eyebrows as Arsenal stumped up £65m for Chelsea's Champions League final goalscorer. Arteta had intentions to utilise Havertz as a midfielder before being required to push the player further forward. ‌ And whereas he'd sometimes struggled leading the Blues' frontline, the ex-Bayer Leverkusen ace proved a useful stand-in for Arteta. Havertz has scored 29 goals and provided 13 assists in 87 appearances for Arsenal thus far and a stint at the end of 2023/24 saw four Premier League goals and three assists across five games. A significant injury in a mid-season training camp stopped him in his tracks at the beginning of 2025 as he was forced to go under the knife. But the Germany international has been noted by Arteta to have undergone a physical transformation in his time away from the pitch as he returned for the final two games of the season. ‌ Raheem Sterling The winger had a forgetable spell at Arsenal, after joining the club on a season-long loan. Arteta would have hoped he could rekindle the form he saw coaching at Manchester City as the Gunners attempted to take advantage of an opportunity late in the transfer window. Sterling was unable to break into Arteta's first team plans for the most part and scored just once in his season with the club. The 30-year-old made 13 starts but often didn't make it off the bench.
