The trailer finally gives a proper glimpse into the underbelly of crime and smuggling in which Rajinkanth makes a dashing entry as the ageing smuggler Deva. He devises a plan to reunite his old gang and take over. The trailer also gave a sneak peek into the characters played by Nagarjuna and Shruti Haasan for the first time.
Reacting to the trailer, a fan commented, 'Goosebumps! Cannot wait for August 14!' Another said, "Lokesh + Anirudh + Rajini = Blockbuster." About Coolie
Coolie will not be a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), which has the films Kaithi, Vikram and Leo. Apart from Rajinikanth, Coolie also stars Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Satyaraj, Upendra, Shoubin Shahir and others. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the film's music. Coolie is Lokesh's first film with Rajinikanth. Ahead of the release, the Central Board of Film Certification awarded the film an A certificate.
Earlier this month, the synopsis of the film was revealed on Letterboxd and Fandango. The synopsis on the platform reads, 'An aging gold smuggler uses stolen tech hidden in vintage golden watches to revive his old mafia crew. But his plan to reclaim his empire spirals into something bigger, a new universe forged from crime, greed, and broken time.'
Coolie will release in theatres on 14 August and clash with Ayan Mukherji's Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR-starrer War 2.

Son of Sardaar 2 box office collection day 3: Ajay Devgn's film sees slow growth, lags behind Bhool Chuk Maaf and Housefull 5 as it mints Rs 25.15 cr
Son of Sardaar 2 box office Day 3: Despite receiving mixed reviews, the Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur-starrer Son of Sardaar 2 has been holding steady at the box office. After a decent opening on Friday, the film showed an upward trend over the weekend, though it fell short of making a major impact. On Sunday, the film earned Rs 9.64 crore, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 25.15 crore. Son of Sardaar 2 opened at the box office on Friday by raking in Rs 7.25 crore. It saw an over 13 percent increase in its collection on Saturday, earning Rs 8.25 crore. Making the most of its first weekend, the film saw another jump of 16 percent on Sunday, taking the total to Rs 25.15 crore. The film recorded an overall 34.90% Hindi occupancy on Sunday, with the highest footfall of 51.58% observed during evening shows. In terms of city-wise performance, it did particularly well in Jaipur with 49% occupancy and in Lucknow with 42.50%, both emerging as top contributors. The NCR region followed closely with 41.75% occupancy. Chennai registered 37%, while Pune and Bengaluru saw moderate footfalls at 35.25% and 33.75%, respectively. Ajay Devgn's film released in theatres alongside Karan Johar's Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri. While the latter earned glowing reviews from critics, its box office performance was modest compared to the comedy film. Within three days of its release, Dhadak 2, which deals with the subject of caste and class discrimination in India, minted Rs 11.50 crore — nearly half of what Son of Sardaar 2 earned in the same time frame. Mohit Suri's Saiyaara, which has turned out to be the year's biggest surprise hit, is still maintaining its momentum in its second week, giving tough competition to new releases. The film earned Rs 8 crore on Sunday, and Son of Sardaar 2 edged past it by only a small margin despite being a new release. When compared to other major comedy releases this year — Housefull 5 and Bhool Chuk Maaf — Son of Sardaar 2 has not been able to surpass either. While Housefull 5 raked in Rs 87.5 crore within its first three days of release, the Rajkummar Rao-starrer Bhool Chuk Maaf earned Rs 28 crore — both higher than SoS 2's Rs 25.15 crore collection. Son of Sardaar 2 is directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and also stars Ravi Kishan and Sanjay Mishra in key roles.
