Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock have 'insane' bond
The two actresses have reprised their roles as sister witches Gillian and Sally Owens in the sequel to the 1998 classic, and the Big Little Lies star admitted she and her pal are "like sisters" in real life and love poking fun at one another.
She told People magazine: "[Our dynamic is] insane. I can tease her, and she teases me," Kidman, 58, explains, noting, "We're both living in London, very close to each other...
"I adore her and she is so funny and so lovable. And we're just having the best time together."
The 58-year-old actress admitted she and Sandra are thrilled to be playing the characters again after a 27-year absence.
She said: "We're both like, 'What?' But we were just right back into it."
And it isn't only Sandra that Nicole has enjoyed working with on the movie.
She added: "We have this wonderful female director, Susanne Bier. Warner Bros. is behind the film. And they've been incredibly supportive in making this, going back and then expanding it.
"And then we have beautiful Joey King, who I've worked with before and who's just lovely. So it's a group of amazing, amazing women and some great men who are creating the next phase, the next stage of the witches' life."
Meanwhile, Evan Rachel Wood recently revealed she won't be reprising her role as Kylie, Sandra's on-screen daughter, in the sequel, despite having asked about being part of the project.
She wrote on Instagram Stories: 'I am getting asked about this a lot, so l'll just clear it up now; I was not asked to come back and be in the Practical Magic sequel. l offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line. I was told they are recasting. I am sorry to disappoint the fans. It was not in my control or my choice. I would have happily rejoined my sisters.'
Bullock and Nicole Kidman are reprising their roles as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, who are descended from a long line of witches.
Meanwhile, producer Denise Di Novi previously promised that fans will be "very pleased" with the sequel, which will draw heavily from the source material – Alice Hoffman's 2021 novel The Book of Magic.
She told Entertainment Weekly: "I think (fans are) going to be very pleased. We're going to be very faithful. We're [aware of] how important those characters and that movie are to so many people. We're not going to reinvent the wheel.
"We're going to draw from Alice Hoffman's books, as the first movie did, and we're going to be true to the chronology of how many years later it is."
Di Novi explained how the crew will "be respectful to the characters, story, and locations" from the original picture.

He told People magazine: "I didn't even know sober escapes existed until I had the crash course with my sis. "I was like, 'Man, it sounds incredible to offer people a chance to reconnect in nature and slow things down.'... "You want to go hike, fish, hang out, do nothing, write, read, anything? It's is all up there for you." Taylor - who hopes the retreat can also benefit children and veterans - also plans to have a sweat lodge on the property, where a local shaman can perform ceremonies after finding the practice helpful while preparing for his latest project, 'American Primeval'. He said:"People will have the opportunity to sweat with him and work on whatever they need to work on. It's been incredibly helpful for me."

Sean 'Diddy' Combs denied bail
Sean 'Diddy' Combs has been denied bail for a fifth time. The disgraced music mogul has been held at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center in New York since he was arrested in September 2024 on sex trafficking charges and after his legal team requested he be released until he is sentenced for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution on 3 October, the judge has ruled he still poses a risk of "flight or danger". In documents obtained by People magazine, Judge Arun Subramanian wrote that the court must "Find by clear and convincing evidence that the person is not likely to flee or pose a danger to the safety of any other person or the community if released," but declared Combs posed a risk of "flight or danger." The judge insisted there would have to be "exceptional reasons" to warrant release, such as it being undisputed the defendant had no risk of flight or danger, or where "unique circumstances" including advanced age or "serious medical conditions" were involved. He ultimately ruled the Bad Boy Records founder "fails to satisfy his burden to demonstrate an entitlement to release." The ruling was made despite the 55-year-old star's ex-girlfriend, Virginia 'Gina' Huynh - who identified herself as "victim number three" from the rapper's trial - wrote a letter in support of his bail application. She wrote: "I am writing because I do not view Mr. Combs as a danger to me or to the community. "This is his first criminal case. Throughout the investigation and proceedings he has been cooperative, respectful and compliant. He has substantial ties to his family and community, including children who depend on him for emotional and financial support. "Granting him bond would allow him to continue caring for his family and fulfilling his responsibilities while still subject to the Court's supervision.' Virginia believes Diddy has become a "better person" in recent years. She went on to add: "Our relationship, like many, was not always perfect, we experienced ups and downs, and mistakes were made but he was willing to acknowledge his mistakes and make better decisions in the future. "Over the years that followed he made visible efforts to become a better person and to address the harm he had caused. By the time our relationship ended, he embodied an energy of love, patience and gentleness that was markedly different from his past behavior. "To my knowledge, he has not been violent for many years, and he has been committed to being a father first.' Combs' lawyers had asked for him to be released on a $50 million bond. Aussie star Nicole Kidman's move to Portugal could anger local residents
Australian actress Nicole Kidman's reported interest in buying property at a luxury European resort could cause more local anger. Residents and some tourists claim a new development at the famous CostaTerra Golf & Ocean Club is destroying the beachfront area of Portugal. Babygirl star Kidman has applied for a residence permit to the country's Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum, local media reported on July 22. 'The Australian actress has been in Lisbon since Sunday after landing at Tires airfield in Cascais,' Portuguese media outlet SIC Notícias said. It claimed the reason for the visit to Portugal was related to the purchase of a home in the luxury CostaTerra Golf & Ocean Club. The private golf club is part of a luxury residential development by Discovery Land Company. The 310ha property will consist of a golf course, beach club, spa and dining. It is also set to have 300 homes, with prices starting at $7.4 million. The area is known as 'The Hamptons of Portugal' thanks to its celebrity visitors, including Hollywood actor George Clooney who has reportedly shopped for homes in the area. The Hamptons is a seaside resort in the US popular with the rich and famous. Last year, The Mirror reported Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were also looking to purchase a property at CostaTerra Golf & Ocean Club. The Daily Express revealed while the private resort is a favourite among the wealthier visitors to Portugal, locals and visitors have vented their frustration about changes to the area as a result of the new development. The resort's Google reviews have been flooded with angry comments. 'Costa Terra: a private playground for millionaires who arrive by helicopter, dine with private chefs and bulldoze everything that made this coast real,' one person commented. 'Public beaches? Locked down. Protected land? Flattened for golf courses. Local communities? Pushed aside and priced out. 'Eco-luxury'? A cruel joke dressed up in greenwash.' 'It's just terrible, they destroyed this beautiful place trying to privatise the area and then ... nothing ... At least give us the camping back, there's space for everyone,' another said. 'Worst decision ever to build this. I used to visit the beach here, now they have blocked the access.' When news broke about Kidman submitting her paperwork to the country's immigration agency, reports revealed her husband Keith Urban's name was not on the application. However, The New York Post understands the country music star was not mentioned in any paperwork because he was unable to break away from touring at the time.
