6. Amoruso is a three-year-old filly having her first start and she comes into this having easily won a trial at Tamworth. She scored by almost four lengths in that hitout and gets her chance to launch her career with a victory. 1. Cerons has two placings from six starts and has had two unplaced efforts in Queensland since finishing second in the Tamworth trial behind Amoruso. He's drawn wide here but has the talent to make an impact. 8. Spring Prospect debuted with a fifth at Mudgee back in December and has had two trials leading into this resuming run, winning the latest of them at Dubbo. 9. I Don't Think So was first-up from a long spell when finishing fourth at Dubbo and shouldn't be taken lightly.

Race 2
13. Turning Circle started favourite when finishing fourth as favourite at Wyong last time out. She was safely held in that event but will find this easier and looks perfectly suited to break her maiden. 14. Winning Reign ran third placed at Dubbo when last produced and can make an impact again. 3. Outcast Soldier finished second in that same race at Dubbo and also can be thereabouts in this company, while 8. Billabong Rose is racing well and has the advantage of gate one.

1. Egyptologist resumes here on the back of two trials. He won at Mudgee and Dubbo at his last two starts before a spell and looks primed to run well first-up over the mile. 4. Naval Officer is on the quick back-up after hitting the line well to win at Wellington on Tuesday. 9. Remadosi wasn't beaten far in the Murrumbidgee Guineas at Wagga last time out and is worth plenty of thought, while 2. Midnight Affair ran well at Hawkesbury in Highway company at her latest outing.
How to play it: Egyptologist WIN.
Race 4
2. Princess Halo was a Sapphire Coast winner three starts ago and has since finished midfield in both runs. She can bounce back to winning form here. 6. Sheridan Street won well on debut at Gundagai as favourite before tackling the Wagga carnival and never being a factor. She can lift on that in this company. 7. Swilken Bridge is handy at best and can give cheek from the good draw, while 11. The Mooch has been placed in two of her latest three starts and can figure again.

The $12 Sportsbet chance overcame the consistent Joe Pride-trained sprinter, which made life difficult for him and jockey Tom Sherry in a messy finish. 'There was no response from the horse from any command that I gave him, and I'd go as far as to say it's a dangerous horse,' Parr said. Highway Strip, the race favourite, hung out on the turn but finished strongly for fourth. Highway Strip had been sent back to the trials previously for its poor racing manners, and Williams told stewards the horse had worked and trialled well since his last-start second at Randwick on January 25. Stewards ordered that Highway Strip trial twice to their satisfaction before being allowed to race again. Three-year-old Shropshire Lad ($8.50) won the race, breaking through for his first Highway win. Knights Armour Knights Armour provided a career highlight for Braidwood cattle farmer and hobby trainer Ross Lavis and Swedish apprentice Rebecca Bronett Prag when the six-year-old gave both a first Saturday city win. Bronett Prag raced Knights Armour ($12) into second-last spot in the 2400m benchmark 78 handicap before cutting the corner with an inside run on the home bend. Knights Armour, the only horse Lavis trains, made the most of the economical trip to land a half-length victory over Good Banter. 'He tries his heart out, and I knew the 2400, he was going to see it out no worries at all,' Lavis said. Bronett Prag, who came to Australia as a teenager, also scored her first metro midweek win with Knights Armour. Maher 2YO scores surprise win Ciaron Maher-trained Without Peer will race into the spring after scoring a surprise win on debut at Rosehill on Saturday. Coming off two unplaced trials, the Pierata gelding was a $12 Sportsbet chance and near last in the 1200m two-year-old handicap before storming down the centre of the track for jockey Chad Schofield to hold off Spice Prawn by a short neck. Maher assistant trainer Johann Gerard-Dubord said the win 'surprised us a bit'. 'He's a gelding, so we will just go through the grades with him and space his runs heading into the spring,' Gerard-Dubord said. 'He's got a lot of talent, but he's still very raw, and we saw that in both of his trials, especially his first one. 'I don't think it was the deepest two-year-old Saturday race, which is why he ran today. 'We just felt 1200 around Rosehill would be a very good starting point. We just wanted him to have a good experience. 'He's still doing a few things wrong, so I think there's a lot more to come.' Loading Big talent on way to success Premier trainer Chris Waller expects Useapin to kick on after she was strong late to win second up at Rosehill on Saturday. The three-year-old daughter of Waller's Everest winner, Yes Yes Yes, fought off Scott Singleton-trained Dollar Magic to claim the benchmark 78 handicap over 1200m for fillies and mares. It was a 14th runner-up effort from Dollar Magic. Waller expected more success after Useapin's fourth victory in 11 starts. 'It was a long straight and Zac [Lloyd] got her out into plenty of air, but she looked like she was going to be vulnerable with 200 to go, but she did enough and she was brave the last bit,' Waller said. 'She's a big girl and she's always shown us promise, but through that big size has struggled to put it together every start, but she's on her way and she should have a good six months.'

Sammy Conquers All aims for Sydney success with a strategic inside barrier
A string of wide draws has cost Sammy Conquers All a couple of city wins but he can amend that when he heads back to Sydney this week. Coffs Harbour trainer Noel Mayfield-Smith ventured to Randwick with the three-year-old back in February for a TAB Highway where he charged home to finish a close third behind Lisztomania and Exit Fee. After a sixth to Tribecca Star in the NRRA Country Championship Qualifier at Lismore, Sammy Conquers All had three runs in Queensland where he finished fifth at the Gold Coast in the QTIS Jewel and two fourths at Eagle Farm. 'He is racing really well without a lot of luck with barrier draws,' said Mayfield-Smith. 'He drew wide in the Highway and had to go back which didn't suit but he got home quite strong to run third. 'He is a QTIS horses so he ran in a few of those in Brisbane and he kept drawing near the outside and going back on tracks where you had to be up there near the speed. 'He ran very good races but was quite unlucky.' After a short break, Sammy Conquers All drew well and raced outside the leader to score a smart win from Aye Aye Skipper with Brock Ryan in the saddle. The draw has again favoured the gelding when he came up with gate 1 in the Asahi Super Dry Handicap (1400m) with Ryan to again ride. 'He's a better chaser and doesn't like to get to the front too soon as he tends to wander,' he said. 'The longer he is looking at backsides, the better he will chase. 'From the inside draw, he should be just behind the speed and have a last crack at them.' Closer to home, Mayfield-Smith will saddle up Monte Tiana in the Winning Edge Presentations Benchmark 58 Handicap (1400m) at Grafton where she has drawn barrier 11. The four-year-old mare appreciated a better track when fourth at Coffs Harbour last start and Mayfield-Smith expects her to make her presence felt again. 'She drew wide the other day and probably got back a bit too far but she motored to the line on a track that was playing to horses on the inside,' he said. 'Forget her two runs before that because she is just hopeless on wet ground. 'The gate doesn't worry me that much. She should settle about midfield and she likes to come into it down the outside. 'Her work has been extremely good and I expect her to run well.'
