Spider-Man' Actor Jack Betts Dies At 96

India.com22-06-2025

Los Angeles: Veteran actor Jack Betts, best known for his role in 'Spider-Man', has died. He was 96. As per Bett's nephew, Dean Sullivan, Hollywood actor breathed his last on Thursday at home in Los Osos, California, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
A member of The Actors Studio, Betts portrayed Llanview Hospital doctor Ivan Kipling on ABC's One Life to Live from 1979-85, and his soap opera resume also included stints on General Hospital, The Edge of Night, The Doctors, Another World, All My Children, Search for Tomorrow, Guiding Light, Loving and Generations. Betts bluffed his way into starring as the avenging title character in Franco Giraldi's Sugar Colt (1966), where he was billed as Hunt Powers for the first time. The film kicked off a run of about 15 spaghetti Westerns for him through 1973 but left him without the fame enjoyed by another American star of similar Italian fare. He made his big-screen debut in The Bloody Brood (1959), starring Peter Falk, then joined Anthony George, Sebastian Cabot and Doug McClure in 1961 to play detective Chris Devlin on the second and last season of CBS' Checkmate, created by Eric Ambler. Betts appeared four times on CBS' Perry Mason from 1961-66 before he met Giraldi about starring in Sugar Colt. He told the director that he could ride a horse and had just won a shooting contest -- of course, he had never been on a horse or handled a gun -- but he spent the next three weeks learning those skills at John Wayne's ranch before reporting for duty at Cinecitta in Rome.
He is survived by his nephew Dean, his nieces, Lynne and Gail, and his sister, Joan.

Why Katrina Kaif Can Give Honest Feedback To Vicky Kaushal But Not Accept His In Return

New Delhi: Vicky Kaushal recently completed 10 years in the film industry. In a candid conversation with Kareena Kapoor Khan who also completed 25 years in the industry, he spoke about how Katrina Kaif always gives him honest feedback about his work. However, she is not okay with him doing the same with her, as the first reaction has to be that of encouragement. What's Happening Vicky Kaushal spoke about how his wife, actress Katrina Kaif is always blunt when it comes to giving feedback about his work. During his interaction with Kareena Kapoor Khan for The Hollywood Reporter, Vicky said, "She is very honest. She will say how it is. But sometimes, she will be a little careful because whatever it is, there is a lot of hard work that has gone into it. You have to be sensitive towards that, and I can't just sometimes she is sensitive about it, but mostly she is straightforward, which I actually love. After a film screening, it is very rare to find that kind of feedback. This was good, this was bad, this you could have done better." When Kareena expressed how she wished that her husband, actor Saif Ali Khan was also open to such positive criticism, Vicky Kaushal interrupted and said that Katrina is the same. He said, "But it's the same over here. She wouldn't want that either. The first step has to be encouragement." How Reddit Reacted The internet was in splits as they reacted to Vicky Kaushal's statement. One social media user shared, "If you're dishing it out, you ought to be able to take it too." Another added, "Lol, Katrina has always been very sensitive about any kind of negative feedback." Someone else was a bit harsh when they wrote, "She's that person in a friend group who can dish out roasts but can't take it themselves and get angry if you say something about them." Work Vicky Kaushal's last release was the blockbuster Chhaava at the beginning of 2025. While Katrina Kaif was last seen in Sriram Raghavan's Merry Christmas with Vijay Sethupathi in 2024. In A Nutshell Social Media had the funniest reaction to Vicky Kaushal revealing that while he gets honest feedback from Katrina about his work, the same can't be done when he has to return the favour.

New ‘Avatar: Fire & Ash' image teases tense reunion between Sully family and Fire-Born clan

A newly released image from Avatar: Fire and Ash teases a tense moment between two of the franchise's most pivotal characters. ‘Squid Game' creator CONFIRMS Gi-hun's fate; Teases potential spinoff

The creator of Squid Game, Hwang Dong-hyuk, is the one who is most excited about the release of the show's final season. The writer and director of the popular show opened up in a recent interview about his relief on the show coming to an end. "There hasn't been a single day that went by without me thinking about Squid Game,' he said to The Hollywood Reporter and admitted, 'This is something that has completely consumed me. " Although Squid Game's ending is not meant to set up any future stories "at this time," sources tell THR that director David Fincher is reportedly working on an English-language spinoff. The story of his main character, eager hero Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), the indebted father who won the deadly Squid Games in season one and returned to defeat them in seasons two and three, is finally concluded in the final episodes, as Hwang had promised. But despite his heroic efforts, Gi-hun leaves this story unharmed. Rather, he gives his life to ensure the survival of Jun-hee's (Jo Yu-ri) newborn child. In the end, the infant assumes his mother's role as Player 222 and wins the games. His mother and father, Lee Myung-gi (Yim Si-wan), also known as Player 333, both meet tragic ends during the games. With Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett making a surprise appearance in the series' final scene as the Recruiter for an American version of the Squid Games, the combination of hope and gloom in Hwang's anti-capitalist thriller leaves viewers with a lot of thoughts. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Perdagangkan CFD Emas dengan Broker Tepercaya IC Markets Mendaftar Undo With an ongoing point that the Games will continue, the scene either closes the book on the story or allows the wildly popular franchise to continue with a potential spinoff series. While also sharing the thing he found most difficult to write in Gi-hun's ending, he said, "If season three is met with as much love as people loved season one, then I think I'm definitely going to feel less empty about saying goodbye.' Although he is open to future spin-offs that dive deeper into the recruiters' world, Hwang Dong-hyuk affirms that this concludes Gi-hun's arc and the original Korean narrative.
