John Mulaney Gushed About Wife Olivia Munn's 'Staggering' Return to Acting & We Can't Get Enough
In a new interview with People, Munn explained that acting took a backseat in her life following the birth of her son Malcolm in 2021, whom she shares with husband John Mulaney, and her breast cancer diagnosis in 2023.

'I love acting, but John loves performing more,' Munn told the outlet. 'Nothing I had worked on in the past five or six years felt like it was worth me taking time away from my family.'
'I started thinking for the first time that maybe I need to be behind the camera, not that that's not also hard work, but putting myself in front of the camera felt a lot more vulnerable,' she explained. 'I wanted to protect myself.'
But as she started to make peace with leaving her acting career behind, the script for Your Friends & Neighbors, in which her character has a relationship with Jon Hamm's character, came along.
'It was the thing I needed to energize me,' she said of the show, which is already streaming. 'When I told John I was taking it, he was just so happy. I had one more surgery to do, and by that point, we knew that [daughter] Méi was on her way. I just felt like I was ready to let go of the fears and worries that I had.'
Mulaney, for his part, gushed about Munn's acting return.
'For the past three years, Liv was just giving everything she had to her health and to being the brightest and silliest mom and partner,' he said of his wife. 'But I have to admit — and I've never said this to her — I didn't think she was done acting by any means.'
So when Munn showed her excitement for her role, Mulaney was her biggest cheerleader.
'She was sitting on the bed and just lit up when she told me about this role,' he remembered. 'Then Malcolm and I and then Méi Méi got the chance to see our Olivia just expand and give her whole mind and heart to us and to doing this show: to see her come back from such a long break, to watch her prepare for this role while still in the middle of exhausting cancer treatment, and then like everyone else to watch week after week as she crafts this totally original, really funny, really staggering character in Sam … I'm just blown away.' How adorable is that?
And while Mulaney will always be swooning over Munn, fans of the show can also attest that she's totally in her element. We're so happy for her!Best of SheKnows

Game Show ‘Scrambled Up,' Hosted By Michael Yo, To Launch On Stations September 8
New game show "Scrambled Up," hosted by Michael Yo, will debut on stations across the country on ... More September 8. Given the durability of syndication mainstays Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy! and Family Feud, it isn't all that common for a new first-run game show to snag station time period availabilities. But Playing Field Entertainment (Cutlers Court), Keller/Noll (Flip Side, America Says, Chopped), and Crazy Legs Productions have confirmed the official launch of Scrambled Up, which per the logline features 'brain-tickling clues in an easy-to-follow format.' It debuts on Monday, September 8. Specifically, Scrambled Up showcases four competitors who must solve puzzles featuring scrambled letters. As the letters correctly rearrange themselves, the clues the contestants receive will become easier. The first person who buzzes in with the correct answer will have a chance to win $10,000. A wrong answer means that player can no longer guess while the first player with the right answer wins the points. Hosted by actor comedian Michael Yo, Scrambled Up has been cleared in more than a reported 80 percent of the country. Included are stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston, and Miami. Launch partners include CBS Television Stations, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Nexstar Media Group, E.W. Scripps Company, Tegna Inc., Weigel Broadcasting Co., and Gray Television, among others. Playing Field Entertainment is handling distribution sales and CBS Media Ventures is handling advertising sales. Actor and comedian Miichael will host the upcoming syndication game show "Scrambled Up." Dave Noll, Cleve Keller, Ross Babbit, Dave Bulhack, Gary Apple, Tom Cappello, and Scott Thigpen will serve as executive producers. 'We are thrilled by the enthusiastic response from our station launch partners and know that audiences are going to equally embrace Scrambled Up', stated David Bulhack, Co-Founder, Playing Field Entertainment in a statement. 'Keller/Noll has again created a super fun and engaging game show that will have viewers eagerly playing along and wanting more,' noted Tom Cappello, CEO of Crazy Legs Productions. 'We're excited to bring another hit to the syndication marketplace, and Scrambled Up is sure to be it.' Scrambled Up! is the second new first-run syndicated game show for next season. The first is The Perfect Line from CBS Media Ventures, which features Inside Edition's Deborah Norville hosting this trivia game of questions about world events, pop culture, sports, science and other topics. Contestants are given a category and then arrange events, items or people to create 'the perfect line.' Anchored by CBS Stations Group, The Perfect Line is now sold to broadcast stations in a reported 90 percent of the country. Chances are it will be paired in many markets with season two of Flip Side, hosted by Jaleel White, which is also from CBS Media Ventures.
