Strength for the weary
The Annual Winter Revival Campaign in Klarinet Ext 8 was a deeply spiritual and transformative gathering where believers came together to strengthen their faith, seek divine restoration, and embrace God's promises.
Led by powerful guest speakers – Pastor Shaun Mnguni, Pastor Francois Botes, Pastor Caiphus Mashilane, Mrs P, and Prophet Elijah Qwabe – the event on May 31 ignited a renewed commitment to trusting in God and walking in faith.
One of the central themes of the revival was the importance of trusting in God above all else, rather than relying on human wisdom or understanding.
Mashilane emphasised that faith is the 'main ingredient' that transforms lives, referencing Proverbs 3:5-8.
He encouraged attendees to appreciate even the small blessings, as God has the power to turn 'nothing into something'.
The revival reinforced that, with God, no obstacle is too great. Joshua 1:9 was a guiding verse throughout the event, reminding worshipers that when God is on their side, no force can stand against them.
Walking with faith was a key takeaway, with speakers urging believers to remain steadfast and speak positivity into their lives.
Qwabe delivered a message of peace and restoration, drawing from John 14:27 – 'God's peace surpasses worldly understanding and provides deep comfort to troubled hearts,' he said. The revival encouraged attendees to lay their burdens before God, as highlighted in Matthew 11:28, where God promises strength to the weary.
Attendees were reminded that they cannot walk alone – true transformation comes from inviting God into their lives, listening to His command, and embracing the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Isaiah 43:18-19 perfectly captured the essence of the event, illustrating God's ability to bring rivers of abundance into the driest deserts of life.
As the revival came to a close, hearts were filled with hope, peace, and a strengthened faith.
The Klarinet Ext 8 community left with the firm belief that God's power unlocks possibilities beyond human understanding, and His guidance leads to true spiritual growth.

Lilly cleanups at the completed Emmarentia Upper Dam Rehabilitation project
After months of delays and anticipation, the rehabilitation of the Emmarentia Upper Dam has finally been completed, marking a major step forward in flood protection and public accessibility. The long-awaited upgrade concluded late last year, restoring one of the city's cherished green spaces for residents and their four-legged companions. Parkgoers can now return to enjoy the dam's natural beauty, a welcome development after more than eight months of limited access. Regular visitors, especially dog walkers, have been quick to reclaim the tranquil walking paths and open spaces along the water. While the primary rehabilitation work has concluded, some efforts are still ongoing, particularly in managing the water lilies that have taken over parts of the dam. Also read: Emmarentia Upper Dam rehabilitation project finally complete Justice Khoza, site supervisor for Rooriv Construction, explained that although the dam itself is complete, the team is still in the process of removing the lilies from the water. 'We are still removing the water lilies,' Khoza said. 'They thrive in water, and because of that, the lower part of the dam is getting less water.' According to Khoza, teams have already spent five days clearing the lilies, but dense clusters on the opposite end of the dam remain. The removal work is vital to maintaining the dam's water balance and ensuring its long-term sustainability. Crematorium steps in to cremate homeless man in eMalahleni
The local crematorium in eMalaheni cremated a homeless man at no cost after reading about a woman's plea to give him a decent funeral. Unieta Swanepoel's plea on social media had a far-reaching effect, as the public also contributed money to help with the cremation costs, and now they want to know what happened to the money. Swanepoel said the cremation was estimated to cost R10 000 and she paid R1 000 towards it. She said the funeral home where Breedt's body was held wanted R4 500 to release the body, and they took the R1 000 she paid in and R1 000 another woman paid directly to the funeral home. 'Another R500 was paid into my account and I used it to pay for diesel and airtime to organise everything,' she told WITBANK NEWS. Swanepoel said she was now distancing herself from the funeral arrangements and, said a ceremony would be held for Breedt on Monday at a church in Stevenson Street. 'I just want to thank everyone who did help, and those who did not and withdrew over a post about me, that was me in the past I was really looking for help with Johannes,' she said. Breedt died on June 17. According to his death certificate he died of natural causes.
