How Did Andy Lose Her Immortality Before The Old Guard 2?
So how did Charlize Theron's Andy aka Andromache lose her immortality in The Old Guard? Here's what you need to know.
The specifics of how Andy lost her immortality in The Old Guard are unknown. This is because the film doesn't give a definite answer.
In the first film, Andy learns about her immortality's loss after receiving a stab wound that doesn't heal the way it used to. Booker shoots her, revealing this new development. Additionally, characters around Andy question the source behind her immortality loss. However, the film itself does not explore the reason behind it or go into specifics concerning it.
Moreover, the immortals believed that their immortality would only be active for a fixed amount of time, and once that time passed, it would start fading.
The comics that The Old Guard films are based on do not explain why Andy was losing her immortality. They also have not explored crucial details surrounding it. This is by design, according to creator Greg Rucka, who explained the same in a Polygon interview.
'That was something that I had no interest in exploring in the comic,' Rucka said. 'I didn't want to waste time or real estate, because comic book pages — that's your premium, that's what you're spending to tell the story.'
However, Rucka did acknowledge how he and the other creatives were 'a little more obligated to at least promise answers to questions,' since they were making a film.
More questions surrounding Andy's immortality and its loss are addressed in The Old Guard 2's official trailer. These questions will most likely be answered when the film comes out.

Charlize Theron Shares Sexual Encounter With 26-Year-Old
Charlize Theron appeared on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast this week amid the release of her new movie, The Old Guard 2. At one point during the wide-ranging conversation, Charlize, 49, noted that she currently has no desire to be in a romantic relationship. 'I have tried dating and I can tell that no man's moving into our house while my daughters are there,' she said, referring to her daughters Jackson and August, whom she adopted in 2012 and 2015. 'I literally can't imagine a man moving into our house and me sharing my closet… I just don't see that happening,' she added. 'There's this notion that somebody like me must be missing out on something and that people feel sorry for you,' she explained, later adding that she does 'not miss' romantic love. However, Charlize did note that she 'might miss sex,' before sharing, 'I'm having the kinda sex I never had in my 20s or in my 30s. That part has been really exciting. But I'm not missing a relationship. I'm not missing the partnership that I think people think you miss when you're me.' Alex later asked Charlize, 49, if she had any sex tips she'd like to share with listeners. The actor replied, 'I almost choked. I am the last person to ask,' though she did go on to detail a recent sexual encounter. 'I'm sounding very cocky here, but I think it's because I found this freedom in my forties where I'm like, 'Oh my God.' So I just want to say this in perspective: I've probably had three one night stands in my entire life, but I did just recently fuck a 26-year-old, and it was really fucking amazing,' Charlize shared. 'I've never done that, and I was like, 'Oh, this is great! OK!'' she said. Going on to share her sex advice, Charlize encouraged listeners to be less 'concerned' about trying to 'please males' instead of focusing on their own pleasure. 'Don't fucking do that for two reasons. You're going to have better orgasms. And guess what? Your man's going to like that. They're gonna have such a better time, too,' she said. Let me know what you think in the comments. You can find Charlize's full appearance on Call Her Daddy right here.
