
Police investigating after daylight shooting in Surrey, B.C.
Police in Surrey, B.C., are asking witnesses to come forward after a shooting in a residential street late Sunday morning.
According to a release from the Surrey Police Service, officers were called to the area of 152 Street and 96 Avenue for reports of shots fired shortly after 11 a.m. Police arrived to find 'numerous shell casings', but no one was injured during the incident, the SPS said.
The RCMP's SPOSU General Investigation Unit have been called in to assist with the investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or believes they have relevant information, including CCTV or dashcam video, are asked to contact Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 2025-41636.

Eskasoni man facing drug trafficking charges: N.S. RCMP

Officers with the Eskasoni RCMP General Investigative Section, and general duty officers, executed a search warrant at a residence on Richard Avenue Wednesday, as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking. 'Officers safely arrested a man and seized a quantity of narcotic prescription pills and cash,' reads a news release from the Nova Scotia RCMP. Keith Geoffrey Denny has been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. Two teens charged in Leamington assault investigation

On June 5 around 4:40 p.m., OPP were called to an assault that they said took place on Alderton Street. When officers arrived on scene, they said they found an 18-year-old boy with minor injuries from an alleged assault. Two boys were identified in the incident and arrested. A 16-year-old boy from Chatham-Kent was arrested on June 20 and is facing charges for robbery with theft, disguise with intent, and uttering threats t cause death or bodily harm. A 17-year-old boy from Leamington was arrested on June 23. He is facing charges for robbery with theft, disguise with intent, and disobeying order of court.

More than 100 people were arrested and over 2,000 charges laid for street racing and other high-risk driving behaviours as part of a months-long enforcement project by Peel police. More than 130 individuals were arrested. 'Street racing is illegal and puts lives at risk,' Deputy Police Chief Marc Andrews said in the release. 'Through initiatives like Project ERASE, Peel Regional Police are committed to curbing dangerous driving behaviours that threaten the safety of our roads.' In a post on social media, OPP said their officers laid more than 930 charges for dangerous driving behaviours between July 13 and 19.
