Tom Holland tries out new Spider-Man suit in first photos from set of ‘Brand New Day'
'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' officially commenced filming in Glasgow, Scotland, on Friday, Aug. 1, and fresh photos from the set have captured Tom Holland, 29, showing off his spectacular new Spider-Man suit.
Although details from the fourth web-slinging installment are scarce, Holland appears to be wearing the same homemade costume that he donned at the very end of 2021's 'Spider-Man: No Way Home.'
Unlike the red-and-black suit he wore during the majority of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first three 'Spider-Man' films, or the Iron Spider suit of armor provided by Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark in 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Avengers: Endgame,' Holland's latest suit looks closer to those worn by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield during their respective stints as the witty wall-crawler.
Featuring the classic red-and-blue colors from the comics, Holland's new costume appears to include raised webbing, a reimagined and bigger spider emblem on the chest and a practical web-shooter on his wrist.
Holland himself teased the new costume on Instagram shortly before filming kicked off in Glasgow, and he also revealed the highly anticipated superhero flick's release date.
'Are you ready?' the 'Uncharted' actor wrote. '7.31.2026.'
As for the first-ever photos from the set of 'Brand New Day,' Holland's Spidey can be seen both with and without his iconic mask while shooting a scene atop an armored vehicle.
While it is unclear if it is part of the film or the 'Odyssey' actor is just being friendly, Holland was caught waving to someone out of frame with a big smile on his face.
Other photos from the first day of filming caught Holland picking at a wedgie, which was most likely produced by the 'Cherry' actor jumping and swinging around in his amazing new suit.
Besides showing off Holland's new costume, the pictures from the set of 'Brand New Day' revealed how the movie's crew went about transforming Scotland's largest city into Lower Manhattan.
Cars and NYC taxi cabs are flipped over as the armored vehicle rolls down Franklin Street, and NYPD vehicles storm the scene while Holland's Spider-Man attempts to quell the destruction.
Extras acting as NYC locals are also pictured rushing past FDNY ambulances and USPS trucks.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' is set to pick up after the events of 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' and before those of 'Avengers: Doomsday.'
While Holland, his fiancée Zendaya (Michelle 'MJ' Jones-Watson) and Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds) are all returning, 'Stranger Things' star Sadie Sink and 'The Bear' actress Liza Colón-Zayas have both been confirmed to join.
Plus, MCU stars Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle/Punisher) and Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk) have been announced to round out the cast.
'I think there's a promise at the end of 'No Way Home,' that for as sad as it is that Peter is forgotten by everyone in his life, we are seeing for the first time in the Tom Holland 'Spider-Man' stories, him being a proper Spider-Man,' Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, told Collider last month.
'Him being by himself, dedicated to saving the city, and dealing with – for lack of better terms – street-level crime, as opposed to world-ending events,' Feige added.
Holland himself revealed the MCU's fourth 'Spider-Man' movie's title back in March during CinemaCon 2025.
'I am so sorry I can't be with you. I am halfway around the world shooting a movie,' the actor, who was filming Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' at the time, began. 'I know we left you with a massive clip hanger at the end of 'No Way Home,' so 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That's all I can say.'
'That's all I've been allowed to say,' he joked. 'And I'm well over the hump of giving away spoilers, so don't be worried. I'm not going to do that today.'

Prince Andrew and Ex-Wife Sarah Ferguson Spotted for First Time Since Bombshell Book Claims
The former couple were seen driving near Windsor Castle just days after shocking claims about Andrew emerged in a new royal biographyNEED TO KNOW Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson were seen together at Windsor just days after explosive allegations surfaced in a new royal biography Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York by Andrew Lownie claims Andrew once got into a physical altercation with Prince Harry A spokesperson for Prince Harry has denied the allegations and confirmed legal action is underway over 'damaging and defamatory' remarksPrince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have been photographed for the first time since explosive allegations about the Duke of York emerged in a new royal biography. On Aug. 3, the former couple, both 65, were seen driving near their longtime home at Royal Lodge in Windsor, appearing pensive and somber. Andrew was behind the wheel with Fergie, as the Duchess of York is affectionately known, seated beside him as they headed toward nearby Windsor Castle for a walk. The former couple, who share daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, divorced in 1996 after a decade of marriage, but remain close. The outing comes just days after the Daily Mail published excerpts from Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York by author Andrew Lownie. The bombshell biography paints a deeply unflattering portrait of Andrew — alleging everything from a violent altercation with Prince Harry to lurid behavior involving convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Among the most headline-making claims: the book alleges that Prince Andrew, 65, and Prince Harry, now 40, got into a heated argument at a family gathering in 2013 that escalated into a physical fight, leaving Andrew with a bloody nose. The excerpt also alleges that Andrew later insulted Meghan Markle behind the scenes, calling her an 'opportunist' and casting doubt on the longevity of the couple's marriage. In response, Prince Harry's spokesperson firmly denied both allegations. "I can confirm neither of those things are true. Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make those comments about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry," the spokesperson told PEOPLE. The Duke of Sussex's team added that legal action is underway "Such are the gross inaccuracies, damaging and defamatory remarks made in the Daily Mail's story, I can confirm a legal letter from Prince Harry's counsel has been sent to the Mail," the spokesperson said. PEOPLE has reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment. According to the excerpt, a "heated argument" between Prince Harry and Prince Andrew erupted at a family event in 2013 over "something Andrew said behind Harry's back." The tensions reportedly escalated to the point where 'punches were thrown' and Andrew sustained a bloody nose before the brawl was broken up. In another allegation, Entitled also alleges that Prince Andrew later questioned his nephew's relationship with Meghan, describing her as an "opportunist" and saying the marriage wouldn't last. Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York will be published on Aug. 14. A summary of the text said the book "exposes the secrets and scandals behind their extravagant lives and troubled marriage," chronicling his fall from grace in light of his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. King Charles' younger brother took a seismic step back from working royal duties in November 2019 following a scrutinized interview with BBC's Newsnight about his alleged ties to the late convicted sex offender. In January 2022, the transition was made official when Queen Elizabeth stripped Prince Andrew of his military titles and patronages after he attempted to have Virginia Giuffre's sexual assault lawsuit against him dismissed. The Duke of York has denied any wrongdoing and in February 2022, settled with Giuffre out of court for an undisclosed sum. The Duchess of York has stood by her ex-husband's side through the turmoil and the former couple joined King Charles and other royal family members for church on Easter in April. The Scottish superstar producer shared the news by posting a photo of himself holding the newborn, a boy named Micah, in an Instagram post Monday (Aug. 4). '20th of July our boy arrived. This isn't the first time Harris has shared his alternative health habits. Last year, he revealed that he drinks raw egg yolks to stave off jetlag, typically stashing six eggs in his carry-on bag. The comments section on Harris' birth announcement post is naturally buzzing with congrats, with fellow artists including Armin van Buuren, Chris Lake, Sonny Fodera, Kygo and many others chiming in with well wishes. The news follows Harris and Hope getting married in England in 2023. It is the first marriage for both. Meanwhile on the charts, Harris' latest single 'Blessings' is currently in its eleventh week on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs. The song, a collaboration with singer Clementine Douglas, is currently at No. 5, down from its apex position at No. 3.
