Influencer slammed for ‘cruel' activity while in Egypt

Tammy Hembrow's holiday to Egypt has been slammed on social media after she took photos in revealing outfits at tourist attractions in the conservative country and allegedly rode an abused camel.
The 31-year-old influencer experienced the trip hosted by Aweventurer last week and was spotted riding on the back of a camel in several photos and videos posted by other travelling content creators on the tour.
However, she hid the snaps from her own page, posting only a photo of two camels from the ride with a pyramid in the background.
The series of photos have angered animal activists who have called for the Saski activewear founder to speak out about the backlash.
Bailey Mason, who runs Instagram account Warrior For Animals, commented on the photos, highlighting the abuse inflicted on the camels in Egypt's tourism industry.
'I am an animal rights campaigner and am deeply disappointed @tammyhembrow rode abused camels,' Mr Mason wrote in a post shared to his Instagram.

The animal rights campaigner also commented on one of Hembrow's Egypt posts, saying: 'I'm politely asking if you can do your bit to end the exploitation of animals in tourism.
'I've been supporting you for a long time even praising you for advocating for eating more plant based foods in 2020 to help the environment and of (course) animal welfare.'
Hembrow's followers also took to the comments section of the mother-of-three's posts, sharing messages of disappointment.
'How about don't torture animals and don't ride a camel?!! Can't believe it's even on the program,' one follower said.
Another person said: Do you have any idea how they are being treated and how exhausted they are from all the moronic tourists exploiting them for no f***ing reason.'
'Please leave animals and carriage rides out of your plans. Very cruel would never visit a country with such lack for empathy or regulations on animal welfare,' a third added.
The negative commentary resulted in the travel company removing the camel rides from the tour itinerary.

According to an article by PETA Australia updated in April, camels continue to suffer from injury and skin disease because they're denied sufficient veterinary treatment.
In 2019, PETA Asia investigations at the Great Pyramid of Giza and Luxor's royal tombs documented abuse of horses and camels who pull tourists in carriages or serve as photo props in severe conditions without appropriate shade or food.
It seems Hembrow's trip has been marred with controversy after people also took aim at her revealing outfit choices while checking out tourist hot spots.
Many of her posts from the getaway show the social media sensation exposing her tattooed arms and midriff while wearing a headscarf.
'Pretty sure this is cultural appropriation cause you're not wearing that scarf to cover your body,' one person said.
Another added: 'A holiday to Egypt, while half naked, is possibly one the most time [sic] deaf things I've ever seen.'
'Your choice of clothing is actually quite offensive to the locals Your travel advisor should have told you about local etiquette,' a third added.
While there is no legal dress code in Egypt, it is considered respectful for tourists to follow the cultural norm of modest attire.
