United Airlines to resume US service to Tel Aviv
The carrier joined a large group of international airlines that suspended service to Israel on June 13 as fighting between Israel and Iran closed off airspaces in the region.
United subsequently said it would pause service with Tel Aviv through at least July 31.
The restoration of service reflects the improved flying environment following a truce between the countries from late last month.
"This resumption is in line with United's longstanding commitment to serving Tel Aviv," the airline said.
"United service to Tel Aviv always follows a detailed assessment of operational considerations in the region and close consultation with the unions representing our flight attendants and pilots."
United had also said it would suspend daily service between Newark and Dubai. The company did not immediately reply to a query on the status of that service.
American Airlines, which has not flown to Tel Aviv since October 2023, has "nothing new to share at this time regarding Tel Aviv service," according to a spokesperson.
"Customers who are planning travel to Israel can purchase tickets on aa.com on flights operated by our partner airlines that serve Tel Aviv," the spokesperson said.
American is part of the Oneworld Alliance, which includes British Airways and Qatar Airways, among others.
Delta Air Lines, which also suspended service to Middle Eastern destinations, did not immediately respond to an AFP query.

United to resume flights to Tel Aviv after pauses in service due to Middle East conflicts
WASHINGTON (AP) — United Airlines confirmed Tuesday that it will resume daily flights to Tel Aviv later this month after suspending service there intermittently due to recent escalations in the Middle East conflicts. The airline said flights from New York and Newark to Tel Aviv will restart on July 21, with a second daily flight resuming the following day. Tickets for the Tel Aviv flights became available on Tuesday. Major U.S. airlines suspended flights in and out of Israel after the nation declared war following a massive attack by Hamas in October of 2023. There have been on-again-off-again resumptions of flights there during the past year-and-a-half as the violence there has subsided and then escalated again. United announced in February that it was resuming the same New York/Newark service to Tel Aviv in March, only to suspended it again later in the spring after Houthi missiles landed near Tel Aviv's main airport, according to media reports. Delta announced in early April that it had resumed its daily, non-stop service to Tel Aviv before suspending it again after the Houthi attack. Delta re-started service weeks later, then suspended its New York-Tel Aviv service again in June after Israel and the U.S. launched strikes on Iran. Delta said at the time that the latest pause would last until Aug. 31. United says it has flown to Tel Aviv more than any other U.S. carrier this year while following 'a detailed assessment of operational considerations in the region' and consulting with the unions representing its flight attendants and pilots. United also offers connections to Tel Aviv through partners including Lufthansa.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Donald Trump met Monday for the third time this year and took a proverbial victory lap after joint strikes on Iran, which has demanded accountability for the attacks. Meanwhile, Israel's 21-month war against Hamas in Gaza remains tenuous. On Monday, Netanyahu presented Trump with a letter nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize, an honor the U.S. president has publicly lobbied for. Netanyahu wrote Trump has 'demonstrated steadfast and exceptional dedication to promoting peace, security and stability around the world,' and citing Trump's 'vision and bold leadership promoted innovative diplomacy defined not by conflict,' but by 'cooperation.'
