Ducklings raised at Park & Rec Gastropub released into the wild
Several ducklings that were raised in a planter at Park & Rec Gastropub in Forest Glade have been released into the wild.
According to a post on their Facebook page, staff recently found a mama mallard and her fluffy babies in their flower box.
'Our team gently placed them in a cozy box and made sure they were safe before taking them to a natural spot nearby,' said the post.
They are now wishing them a happy, wild adventure.

Trains remain halted one day after CN derailment in southwestern Ontario: Via Rail

(Gary Archibald/CTV News Windsor) Via Rail says trains continue to be halted one day after a Canadian National Railway Co. train derailment of about two dozen railcars and one locomotive. A spokesperson for Via says traffic near Brantford, Ont., remains halted due to the derailment, and it is waiting for line clearance from the infrastructure owner. CN spokesman Tom Bateman says crews with the company safely restored train service Saturday morning at the site of the derailment. However, he says workers will remain in the area for several days, and delays in train traffic may be necessary to allow crews to continue working safely in the area. Bateman says there were no injuries, leaks or fires reported, and the cause of the derailment remains under investigation. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada said Friday it was sending a team of investigators to Paris, Ont., to gather evidence and determine what happened. After training for months, Friday was their graduation day. 'It's incredibly rewarding to see officers from different communities come together, learn from one another and build lasting connections,' said training sergeant Ian Stewart. 'This class brought a wide range of experience and perspectives, and we're proud to have helped prepare them for the important work ahead.' Twenty seven of the 29 graduates will serve to help keep Calgary safer, either in the community or on Calgary Transit. The other two graduates will serve in Wheatland County and Banff. One of those new graduates, transit peace officer Zach Dorscheid, served as class valedictorian. This career allows me to be out in the public, solving problems and helping people every day,' said Dorscheid. 'I'm especially proud to be part of a team that's working to make transit feel safer and more welcoming for everyone.' Next for the new graduates is on-the-job field training before they begin patrols on their own.
