Revenge of the Savage Planet release time – here's when the colourful co-op adventure launches

Daily Mirror06-05-2025
If you're in the mood for a playful and pulpy sci-fi adventure with a friend, you'll want to pay close attention to when the Revenge of the Savage Planet release time arrives.
Five years after the original Journey to the Savage Planet released as a surprisingly charming and comedic cult hit, this week sees its bigger, better sequel launch on PC and console.
One of the biggest surprises during lockdown was the original Journey to the Savage Planet. Very much playing like a more slapstick Metroid Prime, it charged you and a friend to explore a colourful planet – full of all kinds of goo and quirky critters – in the hopes of finding your way home. Fast forward five years later and we stand on the brink of the sequel arriving, with the official Revenge of the Savage Planet release time prepping for launch later this week. It's a much bigger sequel that introduces a new perspective, new planets to explore, and even more new ways to do it. What's not to love?

If you're eager to get exploring some of the zaniest planets ever crafted either alone or with a friend, you'll want to be aware of when Revenge of the Savage Planet release time is set to launch. The good news is there's not too long to wait. And even better, players with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription can rest easy knowing they can jump in on day one – at no additional cost. Obviously, this won't be the case for players on PlayStation, but there's still plenty of goo-slinging fun to be had when the Revenge of the Savage Planet release time arrives. Here's exactly when you can start playing what we called a 'bigger, better, sillier sequel' in our recent review.
Revenge of the Savage Planet release time
The Revenge of the Savage Planet release time will arrive on Thursday, May 8, meaning that there's only a few more days left until players on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC can jump in. Sadly, developer Raccoon Logic has yet to give us an official release time alongside this date. That said, according to a post on the game's official Twitter account, the game entered its early access period yesterday at roughly 11am PDT / 2pm EDT / 7pm BST on all platforms.
Players not wanting to pony up for the early access version of Revenge of the Savage Planet will have to wait a while, then. However, this does indicate that the standard edition of the game will unlock this Thursday at the same time at 11am PDT / 2pm EDT / 7pm BST too. When it does, players can look forward to scanning all five planets' indigenous wildlife, unlock crazy traversal skills, and generally be a big space goof in what is easily one of the most colourful co-op games of the year yet.

Sabrina Carpenter in incredible duet with music legends at London show

Sabrina Carpenter brought out British band Duran Duran for an amazing duet at BST Hyde Park which thrilled fans Music star Sabrina Carpenter performed an amazing duet with Duran Duran during her second sold-out BST Hyde Park show. The band were brought on for their hit Hungry Like the Wolf. Their performance had been a closely-guarded secret all weekend. There was no special guest for the first show.A source said: "Sabrina is a huge Duran Duran fan and wanted to mix things up." ‌ The Mirror told today how the US singer pulled out all the stops this weekend. ‌ The star, 26, came prepared with the team to ensure she was in tip-top shape for the energy-sapping shows on Saturday and Sunday night, and even had her own ambulance as backstage was locked down. Security was also 'unprecedented' backstage, say insiders, and 'unlike anything they've ever seen before", for the over 65,000 strong crowd. The show went down a storm with Sabrina saying she has been constantly checking the weather app as she was worried about British weather. 'The first thing I did was look at the weather app because you guys are shady here,' said the Pennsylvania-born singer, who followed on from Noah Kahan's performance on Friday night, which featured a special appearance from Lewis Capaldi. And as the crowd sang along to a string of hits from her recent single releases, Sabrina couldn't help but swoon over the crystal clear vocals. 'Hearing you sing in these accents is just ….', she laughed. ‌ Rounding off the show with what's arguably the hit that catapulted her to household name-status, Sabrina belted out Espresso with the help of the lively crowd. Sharing pictures from Saturday night in London to Instagram, Sabrina - who wore an embellished red romper with her name emblazoned on the front at one point in the show - wrote: "NIGHT 1 HYDE PARK magical and unbelievable. 65,000 of your beautiful faces and we get the privilege of doing it all again tonight!! See you soon i love you". ‌ Sabrina is set to release her seventh studio album, titled Man's Best Friend, in late August, following the monumental success of her previous 2024 effort, Short 'n' Sweet. Talking of the new release online, Sabrina wrote to Instagram recently: "I wrote Manchild on a random Tuesday with Amy and Jack not too long after finishing Short n' Sweet and it ended up being the best random Tuesday of my life. "Not only was it so fun to write, but this song became something I can look back on that will score the mental montage to the very confusing and fun young adult years of life. It sounds like the song's embodiment of a loving eye roll and it feels like a never-ending road trip in the summer." She concluded, "Hence why I wanted to give it to you now- so you can stick your head out the car window and scream it all summer long! thank you always and forever for listening and thank you men for testing me!"

Hollywood heavyweight crashes Black Sabbath mosh pit at last ever gig

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Black Sabbath said farewell to their 58-year career in style with a surprising cameo from a Hollywood star in the crowd. Lead singer Ozzy Osbourne, 76, was overwhelmed with emotion as he took to the stage one last time at Villa Park in Birmingham. The Back to the Beginning show has been one of the hottest tickets this year, marking both the end and the first time the group had played together in 20 years. Ahead of Ozzy's entrance, metal icons like Metallica and Slayer took to the stage but it was another familiar face who captured fans attention. During Pantera's set, Jason Momoa burst from beside the stage and beelined straight for the growing mosh pit. The Game of Thrones star climbed over the barrier and got stuck in as he fist-bumped fans who wildly jumped around him. We're assuming Aquaman could hold his own but the camera didn't show him leaving the mosh pit at any point. Fan videos flooded social media, with Jason, 45, visible on the big screen before the camera panned back to the stage. Kornymoon on X posted: 'Jason Mamoa a real metalhead! Walked into the center of the pit to mosh with the crowd.' 'Imagine tearing it up in the pit to Tool, Metallica, and Black Sabbath…then you turn around and Aquaman is right there thrashing around and having the time of his life,' said goodbyefriend. Retin_Dim added: 'My apologies, Jason Momoa. I was not familiar with your game.' 'It was fun watching him crowd surf! 🤘,' shared buzzsawsmom as others branded it 'epic'. Jason wasn't the only celeb catching the final Black Sabbath show, with music legends like Queen's Sir Brian May, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, and Rolling Stones icon Ronnie Wood also at the venue. Black Sabbath's reunion gig was billed as the final ever show, after the deterioration of Ozzy's health over the past few years. The legend sat in a leather bat throne and delivered a short solo set before being joined by bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. Before leaving the stage, having sung hits like Crazy Train, Suicide Solution, and War Pigs, an emotional Ozzy closed the show with Paranoid and said: 'It's the last song ever. 'Your support has enabled us to live an amazing lifestyle…thank you from the bottom of our hearts.' Afterwards, wife and manager of 40 years, Sharon Osbourne, confirmed she's finally 'done' after a lifetime in the music business. More Trending The music mogul has spent much of the past few decade looking after her husband who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease back in 2003, after suffering a near-fatal quad bike accident the same year. In 2019, Ozzy had a major fall in his LA home, which aggravated his quad bike injuries, dislodging metal rods in his back, neck and shoulders. She told Billboard: 'I've been doing this since I was 15, and I'm done. We just want to live our life and do what we want to do and not have to follow an itinerary anymore.'
