'Spy' Jyoti Malhotra Was Kerala Government's Guest In Tourism Campaign
According to a Mathrubhumi report, a query under the Right to Information (RTI) Act has revealed that the Kerala government funded the trip of 41 influencers chosen to promote the southern state as a global tourist destination. The state government paid for their travel, accommodation and food. It roped in a private agency to help them with shooting videos during their stay. Among these 41 influencers was Jyoti Malhotra.
With the revelation prompting opposition parties to target the state government, Kerala Tourism Minister PA Mohammed Riyas said Jyoti Malhotra was invited along with other influencers to promote Kerala. "This was part of a larger influencer campaign aimed at promoting Kerala. Everything was done transparently and in good faith," he said. "This is not a government that facilitates espionage. The media must understand how government systems work. No one could have foreseen this."
He said the allegations being made against the state government over inviting her are "pure propaganda" and that the state government "would never knowingly invite a spy".
Opposition parties, including the Congress and the BJP, have targeted the Left Front government, questioning why the backgrounds of influencers invited for the campaign were not properly checked before reaching out to them.

So Bharat Mata is blocked and Pak Spies are given RED CARPET by Left? Tourism Minister Mohammad Riyas is son in law of Vijayan. He should be sacked.. and investigated," BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said in a post on X.
During her stay in Kerala, Jyoti Malhotra visited Kochi, Kannur, Kozhikode, Alappuzha, Munnar, and Thiruvananthapuram. She shot vlogs on Theyyam performances and captured scenic locations. These vlogs were shared on her YouTube channel, Travel with Jo, and other social media platforms.
The 33-year-old vlogger had visited the state before the allegations of spying surfaced. She was arrested in May 2025, in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. Following her arrest, Haryana Police said Pakistani intelligence agencies were grooming her as an asset. A video of the YouTuber shopping in Lahore while being surrounded by men armed with AK-47 rifles indicated the kind of security and access she enjoyed in Pakistan, very unlike just another vlogger.
Agencies are now investigating whether her videos may have served as a cover for gathering intelligence. Jyoti Malhotra, police have found, also visited Pakistan shortly before the terror attack in Pahalgam, which left 26 innocents dead.

HC dismisses ‘fake degree' plea against UP deputy CM Maurya
Prayagraj: The Allahabad high court on Monday dismissed a petition seeking registration of a criminal case against Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister and senior BJP leader Keshav Prasad Maurya over allegations of submitting fake educational degrees while contesting elections and obtaining a petrol pump dealership. Rejecting the revision petition filed by one Diwakar Nath Tripathi, a BJP leader and social activist from Prayagraj, Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh said, "The complainant-revisionist is not a person deceived by Keshav Prasad Maurya (second respondent in the petition). He had no locus to move an application under section 156 (3) of CrPC seeking direction to register FIR regarding the alleged offence of cheating and forgery, which are not covered under section 39 (public to give information of certain offences) of CrPC. " "The wheels of criminal justice system cannot be permitted to be clogged by frivolous complaints where a complainant himself is not aggrieved or victim in any manner," the court added. Passing the order, the bench said: "The proceedings appear to be prima facie initiated maliciously by the revisionist with oblique motives and an intention to gain some advantage or settle his score." Tripathi later challenged the ACJM's order before the high court. However, in Feb 2024, the court dismissed his revision on the ground of delay, noting that the petition was filed more than 300 days after the trial court's order. However, in Jan this year, the Supreme Court condoned the delay and directed the high court to consider the matter on the merits. Pursuant to the SC's directions, Tripathi again approached the Allahabad HC with a fresh revision petition taking the same allegations and grounds. The matter was admitted in Apr 2025, and judgment was reserved on May 23, 2025.

Brothers join hands for big Mumbai election
Uddhav Thackeray and his cousin Raj Thackeray are both important politicians from Maharashtra. Raj is known for being very strong about Marathi pride and sometimes takes extreme positions. Uddhav, on the other hand, has been trying to make his party more inclusive and friendly to all people. That makes their partnership a bit confusing. Still, Raj recently showed he might be ready to work together when he said something against the central government. That opened a door for talks between the two. In the last BMC election in 2017, Shiv Sena got the most seats (84), and BJP came close (82), but no one got a clear majority. This time, the BJP is stronger, and Deputy CM Fadnavis is quietly leading their plan. So, this election is a big deal. If Uddhav and Raj win, they might get a second chance.
