Reuben Owen's girlfriend shares true feelings about his family
Reuben Owen's girlfriend has opened up about their blossoming relationship and her fondness for his famous family on his Channel 5 reality show. Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales showcases the young entrepreneur as he tackles the refurbishment of his Thwaite cottage, co-owned with his dad Clive, among other ventures in the Dales.
One part of the TV show highlighted Reuben teaming up with his girlfriend Jessica, who comes from a nearby farming family, on a project. He called upon Jessica's skills to help design and construct a sheep pen at a substantial farm.
After setting out the initial designs for the pen, the couple each took charge of a digger to begin the groundwork.
In a heartfelt confession to the camera, Jessica beamed as she spoke about her eight-month relationship with Reuben, whom she met at a young farmers' event, reports the Manchester Evening News.
"Ever since we first met, we just clicked. I think it's because I'm from a farming background, so's Reuben," she told the audience.
The 21-year-old farmer then gushed over her beau and his kin, who are known from their appearances on Our Yorkshire Farm. Jessica expressed: "I just love him to bits. Love his family, get on great with them."
Reuben echoed Jessica's warm feelings, later revealing his thoughts on their partnership and commending his girlfriend's agricultural talents.
Reuben said: "Me and Jess have been together a while now. We're always working together on all sorts of different things. She's absolutely brilliant on any piece of kit, really."
He cheekily continued: "I haven't found anything that's beaten her, yet!"
In one episode of the Channel 5 programme viewers witness Reuben beginning his cottage restoration venture, leaving him stunned by the enormity of the challenge alongside his pals.
The property, purchased as a shared venture with his dad Clive, has had its renovation schemes put on hold owing to Reuben's thriving business commitments.
Reuben revealed he has no plans to live in the cottage himself, instead aiming to flog it so he can snap up another property.

Neighbours legend's new role with major UK TV star after 31 years as Susan
The prospect of not having Neighbours legend and acting powerhouse Jackie Woodburne on our screens isn't worth thinking about – and thankfully we don't have to as the Susan Kennedy star has landed a new role. In just over a week since Neighbours wrapped production for the second time, Jackie – who has portrayed Ramsay Street royalty Susan for 31 years – has already lined up a new part. The soap titan has joined the cast of Imposter, a new four-part drama set in Australia that will see a family at war over a hotel when mum Helen refuses to sell up, despite her children demanding that she does so. The soapy plot twists and turns follow, with Helen having had a secret daughter named Amanda, who she gave up for adoption decades earlier. When Amanda unexpectedly shows up, Helen is delighted – but this is the just the beginning of what's set to unfold. Consider us intrigued and excited already. Jackie will be starring opposite Coronation Street and Waterloo Road star Kym Marsh, who will play a key role in the Channel 5 drama. Neighbours, which was axed by Channel 5 in 2022, returned to screens in 2013 when Amazon's ad-supported free service Freevee swooped in to rescue it. The daily escapades of Erinsborough residents thrilled fans for another two years before the decision was made by Amazon (in the wake of Freevee's closure) not to renew Neighbours for another season. More Trending Production wrapped on the long-running Aussie soap – a staple of daytime TV in the UK for 40 years – earlier this month, with the final episode slated to drop in December. Discussing her time on the serial, Jackie said: 'It's impossible to measure the gratitude I feel for the gift of 30 years on Neighbours. 'To do so I would have to calculate the number of extraordinary cast and crew I have been privileged to work with, count the number of laughs I have shared with them, measure the pride I feel for the diverse, dramatic (and sometimes outrageous!) storytelling we have all been a part of. View More » 'We are the best version of 'family'. It has been a wild ride into a happy life. [I] wouldn't change it for quids!' Death in Paradise-style spin-off announced with returning star and it's set in Benidorm
Channel 5 has confirmed a brand new detective drama, which will be hitting screens soon - and the series is set to be very similar to the popular BBC show Death in Paradise Channel 5 has just dropped a bombshell for all mystery lovers: a Death in Paradise-style spin-off is officially on the cards, and it's set to grace our screens under the title Death in Benidorm. Details about the cast and finer points of the series are still being revealed, but the premise released hints at a narrative echoing the much-adored Death in Paradise, which takes place in the make-believe Saint Marie and airs on the BBC. The tantalising synopsis reveals: "Former detective Dennis Crown has swapped the chaos of the UK for a quieter life running a bar in Benidorm. "But when tourists start turning up dead, he's reluctantly drawn back into detective work-egged on by his barmaid Rosa, a crime drama superfan." The plot outline states, in summary: "With Dennis's real-world experience and Rosa's encyclopaedic TV knowledge, each episode sees the duo tackling a new murder in paradise while trying to remain on the right side of the local Spanish cops," reports the Express. Greg Barnett, Channel 5's commissioning editor, has approved this thrilling new series. ZDF Studios will distribute it internationally. While the identity of the lead detective remains a mystery, more details about the show are expected to emerge shortly. It is also unclear when the drama will be broadcast on TV or whether filming has started. Simon Delaney, who has previously contributed to Death in Paradise, will also direct the series. But that's not all—Death in Benidorm is just one of six fresh dramas Channel 5 is developing, ready to captivate audiences. Discussing the channel's recent revamp, Sebastian Cardwell, Deputy Chief Content Officer and Head of Scripted at Paramount UK, remarked: "We're incredibly proud to unveil this new slate of scripted commissions, which showcases the breadth and ambition of 5's storytelling. "From brand new thrillers and character-driven mysteries to the much-anticipated return of audience favourites, we're continuing to build a rich and distinctive drama offering. "These titles reflect our commitment to delivering compelling, accessible British drama that resonates with viewers across the UK. We look forward to announcing further titles in the coming months."

The series is set to begin production in Victoria, Australia this Summer." Channel 5 have yet to confirm when the show will air. It is a second big career boost for Kym, who was earlier this month announced in the cast of brand-new stage play, Single White Female – based on the iconic 90s psychological thriller. The world premiere stage production, written by author, journalist and broadcaster, Rebecca Reid, will embark on a major UK and Ireland theatre tour from January 2026. Kym said: "I am so excited to be bringing this brilliant, brand new and thrilling play to theatres across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. I remember being totally gripped by the movie when I first saw it in the cinema and could never have imagined back then that I'd be starring in the world premiere of its life on stage. Get ready to be thrilled, shocked and entertained and watch out for those stiletto heels." Neighbours was axed for a second time earlier this year, with the news coming just two years after it had been initially cancelled on Channel 5 'Everyone's got an idea of how they would like the show to end, but that [the previous] finale was written and everyone gave it 100% because we all thought: 'This is it,'' Jackie told TV Tonight after the news. 'This was our opportunity to honour the show and take it out with a bang. 'But I don't think you can do that twice. It wouldn't have the same impact. I have no doubt that [producers] will come up with a heartfelt, authentic, beautiful farewell. Everybody's, once again, just focused on making sure that we give it our all… But it does feel different this time. 'The vibe last time, there was such an energy of, 'Of course, they'll keep us. Someone's got to rescue us!'... This time, I think because we've been through it before, you only have one 'first time', don't you? So there wasn't the same level of anxiety, fear and heartbreak.'
