Anne Burrell's Last Season Of Worst Cooks In America To Air

Buzz Feed25-06-2025
Last week, beloved chef Anne Burrell died at age 55, with the New York Times recently reporting that authorities are investigating the cause of death as a possible drug overdose.
People previously said that Anne was found 'unconscious and unresponsive' by emergency services who were responding to a 911 call about a reported cardiac arrest.
According to the publication, the New York City Police Department attended Anne's address at around 7:50 a.m. on June 17 — just hours after she took part in her first improv show on the evening of June 16.Anne's family issued an emotional statement when news of the star's death broke, which read: 'Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend — her smile lit up every room she entered. Anne's light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal."
Anne was best known for her work on the Food Network, specifically the iconic series Worst Cooks In America, which she had hosted since its premiere in January 2010.
And on Tuesday, it was confirmed that Anne's final season of the show, dubbed Worst Cooks in America: Talented and Terrible, will air next month. The season will see Anne face off against a brand new boot camp mentor, Italian chef Gabe Bertaccini, in a bid to transform bad amateur cooks into talented chefs. The season will premiere on July 28 — over a month after Anne's death.
Food Network previously shared their plans to dedicate the evening of June 25 (today) to Anne's work on their programs by showcasing some of her best moments from her decades on their network.
Per Entertainment Weekly, Warner Bros. Discovery's Head of Food Content, Betsy Ayala, said: "Anne Burrell was a one-of-a-kind talent whose loss is being deeply felt by family, friends and fans. With these special programming events, we hope to honor Anne and celebrate her impact on Food Network and beyond, and to offer fans a way to remember her passion and culinary prowess that ran through everything she did."
Anne is survived by her husband, Stuart Claxton, whom she married in October 2021, his son Javier, her mother Marlene, her sister Jane, her brother Ben, and their children.

Demi Moore, Miley Cyrus and Timothée Chalamet to receive stars on Hollywood Walk of Fame

LOS ANGELES — They can buy themselves … stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? Miley Cyrus, Timothée Chalamet and Demi Moore were among the 35 honorees announced Wednesday by Eugenio Derbez and Richard Blade. Inductees were selected across five categories: motion pictures, television, live theater and live performance, recording and sports entertainment. There were no radio honorees. Others who made the class of 2026 include actors Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, Molly Ringwald, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Rami Malek and Noah Wyle; former NBA star turned sports analyst Shaquille O'Neal; and 'Good Morning America' co-anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, who will have a double ceremony. Italian special effects artist Carlo Rambaldi and director Tony Scott will be posthumously honored. Cyrus, who released her ninth studio album, 'Something Beautiful,' in May, rolled around the Walk of Fame for the music video for her aptly titled single 'Walk of Fame,' later revealing on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' that she developed an infection on her kneecap from the bacteria on the famed Hollywood Boulevard sidewalk. Still, the singer shared some of the footage on Instagram shortly after her star was announced. 'When I first came to LA from Nashville as a little girl, my family would stay at a hotel on Hollywood Blvd, and I would go on late night walks with my dad when no one would recognize him. We'd have the gift shops to ourselves & buy knock off Oscars and Marilyn Monroe merchandise,' she wrote. 'To now be cemented on this legendary boulevard, surrounded by the icons who inspired me, feels like a dream.' Her father, singer Billy Ray Cyrus, doesn't yet have a star on the Walk of Fame. Meanwhile, Chalamet is coming off the success of the Bob Dylan biopic 'A Complete Unknown.' He earned an Oscar nomination for his role as the legendary singer-songwriter. He's set to begin filming the third installment of the 'Dune' film franchise, titled 'Dune: Messiah,' this summer, according to Deadline. Moore, who rose to prominence with the 1985 film 'St. Elmo's Fire,' earned her first Oscar nomination this year for her role in 'The Substance,' in which she starred opposite Margaret Qualley. She and Ringwald will be the latest of the Brat Pack to join the Walk of Fame, following Rob Lowe in 2015. It's also a family affair for Blunt and brother-in-law Stanley Tucci, who appeared in 'The Devil Wears Prada' together and are set to return for the sequel. Once selected, honorees are expected to cover an $85,000 sponsorship fee to pay for the creation and installation of the star, as well as maintenance of the Walk of Fame. Recipients have up to two years to schedule their ceremonies before the offer expires. ‘Top Chef' Star Serves Wagyu Meatballs at His New Las Vegas Restaurant

Fabio Viviani didn't win season five of Top Chef, but as the show's crowned 'Fan Favorite,' he's among the series' most prolific alumni. Now he's making his Las Vegas debut, bringing his signature charm — and a meatball upgraded with wagyu — to Summerlin with Ai Pazzi at JW Marriott Las Vegas. Opening Thursday, July 3, the new Italian restaurant joins a sprawling portfolio of nearly 40 restaurants the chef has opened, co-owned, or lent his name to since his breakout television moment in 2009. 'I love to work with resorts,' Viviani says. 'And this is about the food and building something in the community to feed the Las Vegas clientele.' That food is traditional Italian with touches of Vegas glitz thrown in. Dimpled, homemade orecchiette pasta gets tossed with spiced duck sausage, charred fennel, white wine, and a hint of chile for heat — all savory, textured, and warming. In a frutti di mare, squid ink pasta is served in a briny mix of clams, mussels, and shrimp in lobster broth. Mozzarella is hand-pulled tableside, draped over heirloom tomatoes while soft and warm. The chef's signature meatball — now upgraded with wagyu, ricotta, and rich tomato sugo — arrives juicy and fragrant with basil. Dessert at Ai Pazzi looks like layered jars of espresso-soaked tiramisu and sticky lemon ricotta cake with strawberries. Cocktails include the Montenegro Nights with bourbon, vanilla and caramel syrups, bitters, and a toasted marshmallow. Viviani's own Fabrizio di Rienzo wines — exclusive to his hospitality group — round out the beverage list. The restaurant is part of JW Marriott and Rampart Casino's sweeping $75 million renovation, which also includes a new pizza counter adjacent to the restaurant that will serve Neapolitan slices and an Oyster Bar slated to open later this summer in a new food hall. Vivianni says the Oyster Bar will be like those found in other Las Vegas off-Strip casinos — like the iconic Oyster Bar at Palace Station — but with an Italian twist. He describes it as 'an oyster bar on the Amalfi Coast.' The counter will serve seafood pots, terrines of steamed clams, shellfish-laden seafood towers, and Champagne. Since his Top Chef appearance, Vivianni has become something of a mogul and pitchman — publishing cookbooks, returning for Top Chef: All Stars , fronting San Pellegrino and Dr. Oetker frozen pizzas, and launching Jars, a dessert-in-a-jar chain now in seven states. Ai Pazzi translates to 'to the crazy ones,' which Viviani says he intends to mean as 'crazy as in obsessed.' It's an obsession he comes by honestly. 'I want it to be the best Italian food not in Italy,' Vivianni says. Ai Pazzi at 221 North Rampart Boulevard is open Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. See More: Vegas Restaurant Openings
