Listed as a 6-foot, 215-pound three-star prospect, he held offers from Appalachian State, Charlotte, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech, among others.
This past season, Gordon was the centerpiece of a hard-hitting Ashbrook defense which allowed 13 points per game. The Big South 3A Defensive Player of the Year, he finished with 141 tackles (eight for a loss), four sacks, two interceptions, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.

As usual, Auburn is in the mix to land one of the nation's top forwards. Jalan Wingfield, a four-star power forward from Tri-Cities High School in East Point, Georgia, released his top eight choices this week, which included the Auburn Tigers. He tells Tipton that FSU has the "hometown" feel due to the proximity of Tallahassee to his hometown of Thomasville, Georgia, and that Georgia Tech is special because Yellow Jackets head coach Damon Stoudamire played with his dad, Dontonio Wingfield, in the NBA. When it comes to Auburn, Wingfield recalls Pearl's persistence of developing a relationship with him stands out. 'Bruce Pearl, he's at every one of my AAU games. Courtside. Every time he sees me, he acknowledges me, asks me how I'm doing. Tells me Auburn loves me. So, I would say they play a big part, too, also.' Wingfield is a 6-7 power forward that has "great length and a projectable frame," according to a scouting report by Jamie Shaw of Rivals. He is the No. 14 power forward for the 2026 class according to Rivals' Industry Rankings, and is the No. 7 player from Georgia. Nebraska football to sell alcohol at Memorial Stadium during Saturday's Big Red Preview
The Nebraska football team is one step closer to the 2025 season with its annual Fan Day, followed by its Big Red Preview on Saturday. Nebraska athletics also announced that fans can purchase alcohol during the Big Red Preview. This is the first time ever that alcohol is being sold at a Nebraska football event and just the third time ever at Memorial Stadium. A Garth Brooks concert and Volleyball Day in Nebraska sold alcohol at Memorial Stadium with approval from the school. The University of Nebraska Board of Regents approved the sale of alcohol at Memorial Stadium and the Devaney Center this past October, expanding beyond Nebraska basketball, baseball, and softball. The Big Red Preview is an open practice for the team, their sixth practice of the preseason camp. It is also the team's first practice in full pads, and fans will see the team in action on Memorial Stadium's brand-new playing surface. Concessions and drinks, including beer, will be available on the main concourse of West Stadium and on field level in North Stadium during the Big Red Preview. The event is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Prior to the open practice, the team is holding its annual Fan Day in the afternoon, where fans can interact with the players in a free event and receive autographs.
