PM Anwar To Table 13th Malaysia Plan In Dewan Rakyat
According to the Order Paper, the tabling is scheduled for noon after Minister's Question Time and the oral question session, which begins at 10am. Debate on the 13MP will start next Monday and run for eight days, followed by ministerial replies from Aug 18 over four days.
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said in a Facebook post yesterday that the 13MP, themed Melakar Semula Pembangunan, focuses on equitable and fair development without leaving any group behind. He added that its formulation involved extensive engagement with stakeholders from various sectors, states and regions to ensure inclusivity in shaping the nation's future.
Other matters on the agenda today include discussions on the rights and advancement of the Orang Asli community and the registration process for the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) assistance. Jalaluddin Alias (BN-Jelebu) is expected to question whether the government plans to amend the Aboriginal Peoples Act 1954 to safeguard Orang Asli rights, while Syerleena Abdul Rashid (PH-Bukit Bendera) will seek clarification on SARA's RM100 allocation eligibility and usage.
In addition, questions will cover teacher placement from the Institute of Teacher Education (IPG), allocation for non-Muslim places of worship under a RM50 million fund, and measures to address the shortage of about 10,000 engineers and AI experts in Malaysia.
The current Dewan Rakyat sitting continues for 24 days until Aug 28. Related

Sultan Ibrahim departs for Russia in first state visit by Malaysian King since 1967
SUBANG, Aug 4 — His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, left for Russia this morning for a state visit, from tomorrow until Aug 10, at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin. His Majesty's visit will be the first by a Malaysian Head of State to Russia since diplomatic relations were established in April 1967. The special plane carrying His Majesty departed from the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) base here at about 8.55 am. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof were present to bid farewell to Sultan Ibrahim. Govt to allocate RM1.4bil for oil palm replanting programme, says Johari
Plantation and commodities minister Johari Ghani said with the replanting programme, the country will remain the world's second-largest producer of palm oil products. JOHOR BAHRU : The government is expected to allocate RM1.4 billion in phases over five years to strengthen the oil palm replanting programme for smallholders under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), says plantation and commodities minister Johari Ghani. He said the allocation is part of initiatives to ensure the sustainability of the country's palm oil industry, particularly efforts to replace ageing and less productive oil palm trees. 'The parliamentary debate for 13MP will begin on Monday, and from there, we will receive a lot of feedback from MPs. In terms of the plantation and commodities ministry, I see that the government is taking steps to increase replanting among smallholders. 'With replanting, we can maintain the country's position as the world's second-largest producer of palm oil products and boost our exports, which currently stand at RM115 billion,' he said after attending the Johor Bahru Umno meeting here today. Last Thursday, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the government is committed to advancing the development of strategic national sectors through various high-impact approaches under 13MP, particularly in subsectors including agro-commodities, halal industries, and Islamic finance. The prime minister added that the government will focus on increasing productivity in the agro-commodity sector, such as palm oil, rubber, and cocoa, through the use of modern technologies like mechanisation, automation, robotics, as well as research and development.
