ONE Championship: Stamp Fairtex returns, Superlek vs Yuki Yoza booked for ONE 173
Superlek Kiatmuu9 and Yuki Yoza will face off in a bantamweight kickboxing bout at ONE 173, while Stamp Fairtex makes her long-awaited return from injury in a kickboxing clash with Kana Morimoto.
The November 16 card at Ariake Arena already features four title fights – and now boasts even more star power.
Superlek – the reigning ONE flyweight kickboxing champion – had been in the running to face Yoza alongside bantamweight king Jonathan Haggerty.
But Haggerty now appears set for a Muay Thai title showdown with bantamweight champion Nabil Anane, possibly on the same Tokyo card, as he aims to reclaim his two-sport supremacy. The fight has not been officially announced, though ONE chairman Chatri Sityodtong hinted it was signed with a cryptic social media post last week.
Yoza, the former K-1 champion, has made a perfect start to life in ONE with back-to-back unanimous decision wins over Elbrus Osmanov and former champion Petchtanong Petchfergus – both at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium.
Now, the 27-year-old finally gets the chance to compete on home soil – and is targeting redemption for Japan after Superlek defeated teammate Takeru Segawa by decision in their flyweight title bout at ONE 165 in January 2024.
'I always wanted to fight Superlek – he is one of ONE's pound-for-pound best,' Yoza wrote on social media. 'I will get revenge for Japan's striking community. I will definitely win!'
Stamp, meanwhile, steps back into the spotlight after relinquishing her ONE atomweight MMA world title.
The 27-year-old was forced to withdraw from a unification bout with former interim champ Denice Zamboanga – originally scheduled to take place this week in Denver – after a setback in her recovery from knee surgery.
The event was subsequently moved to June 2026, with ONE Fight Night 34 taking its August 1 slot on the schedule this week in Bangkok.
Stamp now meets Kana in a kickboxing bout, and should she win, is expected to issue a challenge to the winner of the title fight between newly-elevated champ Zamboanga and Japan's Ayaka Miura later in the night.
A featherweight kickboxing title unification bout between Superbon and interim champion Masaaki Noiri headlines the card; Anatoly Malykhin will challenge 'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane for the heavyweight MMA title in the co-main.
In another major bout, strawweight king Joshua Pacio will attempt to become a two-division champion when he takes on flyweight MMA champ Yuya Wakamatsu – who won the belt on home turf at ONE 172 in March.

ONE Championship: Supergirl fight cancelled after hydration fail at ONE Fight Night 34 weigh-ins
'Supergirl' Anna Jaroonsak's long-awaited return to the ring in ONE Championship has been cancelled. Her atomweight Muay Thai bout against Bulgaria's Teodora Kirilova was officially scrapped on Friday morning, after Supergirl failed to pass hydration at the ONE Fight Night 34 weigh-ins the previous evening in Bangkok. The Thai star later confirmed she eventually passed hydration after the official three-hour testing window had closed – but Kirilova declined to accept a catchweight, leaving the fight off the card entirely. 'First of all, I want to sincerely apologise to my opponent, the event organisers, [ONE CEO] Chatri Sityodtong and all my fans,' Supergirl wrote on social media. 'I know many people were looking forward to this fight, and I'm truly sorry for the disappointment I've caused.' The 21-year-old made her contracted weight twice within a few hours, but she failed to provide a hydrated urine sample in time to pass under ONE's weigh-in protocols. Her third attempt, which came just as the clock struck zero, did not meet the minimum requirements of 10 millilitres, and she was not allowed to test. 'I followed the same weight-loss plan I've always used – nothing extreme, and everything was on track – but unfortunately, this time the result was different,' Supergirl added. 'I trained extremely hard for this fight and felt more than ready, both physically and mentally.' The bout was meant to mark Supergirl's first appearance since a first round TKO loss to Cristina Morales in November 2023, when she had complained of feeling sick and fatigued the morning of the fight. Since then, she had been balancing other work commitments, including film and modelling, while stepping away from active competition. 'Coming back into serious training after such a long break wasn't easy, but I gave it everything I had,' she added. 'I truly did everything I could to try and make the fight happen, including initiating direct negotiations with my opponent's team.' The ONE Fight Night 34 card has now been reduced to eight bouts, though the two other contests that appeared to be in jeopardy after Thursday's weigh-ins – involving Shamil Adukhov and Elbek Alyshov – will go ahead, officials confirmed to the Bangkok Post. Ellis Barboza agreed a catchweight with Russia's Adukhov for their Muay Thai opener, which was originally contracted at strawweight.

ONE Championship: Chihiro Sawada targets Denice Zamboanga title shot in Japan after submission win
Chihiro Sawada has her sights set on a ONE Championship world title shot – and she wants it in her home country. The Japanese atomweight contender returned to winning ways with a first-round armbar submission of Argentina's Macarena Aragon last Saturday morning at ONE Fight Night 33 in Bangkok. It marked a strong response from the 27-year-old after her first professional loss – a decision defeat to China's Meng Bo in January – and she now has her eye on gold. 'My intention is the same – to go to that Japan card, ONE 173,' Sawada told the Bangkok Post backstage at Lumpinee Stadium. 'I got the win and I want the chance to fight there too.' ONE 173 is set for November 16 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo. But it remains to be seen whether Sawada will get her wish. Ayaka Miura, a former ONE strawweight title challenger who dropped to atomweight last year, will compete against Colombian newcomer Juliana Otalora at ONE Friday Fights 116 – and is believed to be in pole position to challenge newly elevated champion Denice Zamboanga in November. Sawada is currently ranked No 5 in the atomweight MMA division and knows the opportunity may not fall to her just yet. 'If there is no title shot, I want Ham Seo Hee,' she said. 'Or it is going to be Ayaka Miura in Japan.' Sawada, who trains with AACC in Tokyo, dominated from the opening bell against Aragon – who had failed hydration for the bout – before locking in the armbar. 'Armbar is just one of my plans that I had for Aragon,' she said. 'I also prepared other submission techniques like the leg lock, and I have increased my striking skills also. But this time, the armbar – I made it, I executed, and I'm very happy about that.' Despite the finish, Sawada missed out on a US$50,000 performance bonus from ONE chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong. 'I expected the bonus, but maybe this is not the right timing for that – next time,' she said. Asked whether she was compensated in other ways after Aragon's weigh-in issues, she smiled and replied, 'I can't say anything about this!' – though it is likely she received at least 20 per cent of her opponent's fight purse. Sawada was quick to thank her supporters after the win, which improved her overall record to 9-1-1, and 4-1 in ONE Championship. 'Thank you very much to everybody that's been supporting me from Japan – and not only from Japan, from my fans around the world,' she said. 'It means a lot to me. 'And not only that – all the athletes that have been training with me, all my trainers, everybody in my gym, and especially my corners that have been helping me. I thank them a lot.'
