Viral Again: Abhishek Banerjee's Old Parody Video Of Vijay Mallya Resurfaces After The Businessman's Recent Podcast Appearance
Fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya, facing fraud and money laundering allegations, recently made an appearance on Raj Shamani's podcast. The former liquor baron opened up about some long-standing issues related to his financial dealings, loan settlements and whether he is willing to return to India.
After Vijay Mallya made his podcast debut, an old video of actor Abhishek Banerjee playing Vijay Mallya in a comedy sketch has been doing the rounds on social media.
The clip, shared on X, is an excerpt from episode 3 of TVF's comedy series Daaru Pe Charcha. It features Abhishek parodying the infamous businessman while Jitendra Kumar plays the host.
The setting is a mock talk show where the two discuss various topics over drinks, blending comedy with sharp commentary. The hilarious conversation between the two characters covers several topics, including Vijay Mallya's extravagant lifestyle, legal troubles and the public's perception of him, not unlike the conversation he had with Raj Shamani on his recent podcast.

On the work front, Abhishek Banerjee's film Stolen was released on June 4. Inspired by the 2018 lynching of two men in Assam, the film features Mia Maelzer and Shubham Vardhan in key roles.
NDTV, in its review, gave Stolen 3 out of 5 stars and wrote, "Unlike more didactic films, Stolen doesn't preach. It leaves room for ambiguity. There are no capital-V villains here, only fear, fatigue and desperation."
After Stolen, Abhishek Banerjee has an interesting lineup of films to look forward to. The actor will be seen in projects like Toaster, Bhediya 2, Section 84, and Mirzapur: The Film. Makers have also announced that Abhishek will return as Jana in Stree 3.

In a dramatic twist, Sangeetha began crying and locked herself in another room, threatening to end her life, claiming she couldn't face the consequences. Fearing arrest and public humiliation, the techie pleaded with the group. They initially demanded ₹15 lakh as a settlement, but after negotiations, he ended up paying ₹2 lakh to be let go. Three days later, the man approached the police, leading to a deeper investigation that uncovered an elaborate date-extortion scam, the report further added. Authorities confirmed that the entire encounter, from the dating app match to the staged panic, was pre-planned. The white powder used to frame the victim turned out to be baking soda, not drugs. Sangeetha was part of the gang, and the meeting was a trap to extort money. As per the publication, police arrested six people in connection with the case: Sharanabasappa, Raju Mane, Shyam Sundar, Abhishek, Birbal, and Sangeetha. Gujarat doctor loses Rs 19 crore in 3 months in digital arrest scam
It all began with a phone call to a doctor based in Gujarat's Gandhinagar. On March 15, she received a call claiming that objectionable content had been found on her phone. The caller threatened to disconnect her phone connection and slap a money laundering case against marked the beginning of a series of manipulative calls from individuals falsely identifying themselves as authorities — including a sub-inspector, a public prosecutor, and others — which ultimately led to the 'digital arrest' of the doctor. These calls were designed to instill fear and force the unsuspecting doctor ended up transferring Rs 19 crore of her lifetime savings and assets over a period of three months to 35 different bank fraudsters further exploited the situation by securing a loan against the doctor's gold jewellery and transferring those funds as well. The doctor, under constant threat, even informed the fraudsters of her whereabouts via video calls whenever she left home. The psychological manipulation was intense and day, the calls suddenly stopped. When the woman informed her relatives, it was too late. Based on the complaint received on July 16, the cyber cell of CID Crime in Gujarat sprang into action. Sources revealed that this is likely one of the largest digital arrest cases in India, involving such a significant amount defrauded from a single individual. Following intensive investigations, police arrested an accused in Surat, whose bank account held Rs 1 crore of the duped suspect is currently being questioned to uncover the network and identify additional individuals involved in the scam. Authorities are determined to dismantle the entire hunt to identify and capture the masterminds behind this elaborate operation is underway, based on their digital recovery of the stolen funds remains a challenge, with only a portion of the money traced back to the suspect's account.
