Elton John says his piece to godson Brooklyn Beckham at swanky lunch with Nicola Peltz as family feud escalates

The Sun2 days ago
HE famously penned The Bitch Is Back - and certainly Sir Elton John has loved nothing more than a cat fight in days gone by.
But three months on from patching up his long-running feud with Madonna, it seems the veteran superstar is a reformed character.

His latest peacemaking efforts? Patching up the increasingly acrimonious family row tearing the Beckham clan apart.
In his role as Brooklyn 's beloved godfather, the 78-year-old singer is fast becoming something of a showbusiness diplomat, The Sun can reveal - helping Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola, patch things up with his good pals David and Victoria.
Alongside husband David Furnish, Elton treated the young couple to a slap-up lunch at one of Cannes 's trendiest beach clubs.
Here, I'm told, the quartet 'briefly' touched on the family feud before sticking to more neutral territory.
'Elton is the showbiz equivalent of Switzerland,' says a source.
'He's utterly neutral in this row.
'Elton of old may have relished in taking sides - in this case his young godson, Brooklyn - but two years off his 80th birthday, he's a man who has seen and done it all. He just wants everyone to be happy.
'There is no side-taking as such; he simply adores his godson, and really has a laugh with Nicola who he thinks has a great sense of humour.
"He wants to look after them in his role as 'spiritual adviser' as a godfather, it's a role he takes seriously.
'Elton and David think the situation is terribly sad, and has gently suggested to all involved that life is short - to patch things up.
David and Victoria Beckham's agony as family feud explodes into WW3 and pals say 'Brooklyn has totally cut them off'
'They had a really fun long lunch in the South of France, where Elton and David have a beautiful villa, and besides a very brief chat on the subject that dare rear its name, they discussed loads of other, much more light-hearted matters.
'Just wants peace'
'Elton has said his bit - he is adamant he doesn't want to stick his nose in and p*** off either party. He just wants peace.'
Whilst teetotal Elton stuck to sparkling mineral water, Brooklyn sunk beers and the US actress, 30, stuck to Aperol Spritz at La Guerite beach club.
Dining on seafood - the restaurant's signature lobster linguine comes in at an eye-watering £190 - generous Elton is understood to have picked up the entire tab for the party of six.
At present, peace still seems a long way off - although all parties, clearly, are 'sick' of the animosity, adds an insider.
However, in October Victoria's long-awaited Netflix documentary is due for release.
It is understood she will not touch on the feud - although she has promised there will be 'tears' in the four-parter.
Nicola and Brooklyn will not feature - but that is because no scenes were filmed with them.
Victoria and her team are currently in the edit suite, finessing the series.

A source added: ' The children hardly feature - it's simply not a case of Brooklyn and Nicola being cut, as they weren't in it to start with.
'This is very much a project focussing on Victoria's transaction from pop star to businesswoman and designer.'
I'm told, however, that Victoria comes across 'brilliantly' - continuing from her scene-stealing one-liners in her husband's own four-parter.
It will showcase her transition from Spice Girl to one of the world's most revered fashion designers, against the backdrop of early naysayers.
Fittingly, one of Brooklyn and Nicola's last public sightings alongside Posh n Becks came back in May 2023.
The foursome enjoyed a no expense spared night out in a box At London 's O2 for the star's final gig of his retirement tour, one hosted by the former England captain.
In March the multi- Grammy winner famously made-up with his frenemy, Madonna, after a row spanning two decades.
After repeatedly accusing the American singer of lip-syncing, the pair patched up their differences when she went down to confront him following an appearance on SNL.
She later took to Instagram with a photo of the duo, revealing they had kissed and made up.
To which Elton thanked Madonna for "forgiving me and my big mouth".
The singer added he was not proud of what he had said over the years, adding: "I'm increasingly distressed by all the divisiveness in our world at the moment," he said in a comment on her Instagram post.
"By pulling together, I'm hopeful that we can make great things happen for those who really need support, and have a lot of fun doing it."

The Beckham Family Feud
April 2022: Brooklyn marries Nicola Peltz.
Wedding Dress Controversy: Rumours begin circulating that there's tension between Nicola and Victoria Beckham after Nicola chooses not to wear a Victoria Beckham-designed wedding gown. Nicola later clarifies in August 2022 (and again in March 2023) that Victoria's atelier couldn't make the dress in time, but reports in May 2025 suggest Victoria actually changed her mind about making the dress.
Post-Wedding (2022 onwards): Minimal interaction between Nicola and Victoria on social media, and noticeable absence of Nicola at key Beckham family events.
Alleged Wedding "Hijack": In May 2025, a source claimed Victoria "ruined" part of the wedding by allegedly hijacking a dance with Marc Anthony, which was meant for Brooklyn and Nicola. Nicola reportedly ran from the room crying.
March 2025: A resurfaced TikTok of Romeo and Cruz mimicking a "baby voice" (which fans associate with Nicola) sparks speculation of sibling shade.
April 2025: Brooklyn and Nicola are reportedly absent from Victoria Beckham's 51st birthday celebrations in Miami and her Paris Fashion Week show.
May 2025: David Beckham's 50th Birthday Snub: Brooklyn and Nicola are notably absent from David Beckham's 50th birthday celebrations in London, despite being invited. Reports suggest their absence was due to Brooklyn not wanting to be in the same room as Kim Turnbull, the girlfriend of Romeo who had previously been reported to have been dating Brooklyn, who David allegedly opted to have at the party over Nicola.
Rumours emerge of a falling out between Brooklyn and his younger brother Romeo, reportedly due to Romeo's new girlfriend, DJ Kim Turnbull, who allegedly had a past connection with Brooklyn.
Reports surface that the Beckham parents are "hurt and disappointed" that Brooklyn is "playing no part in family life." Sources claim that tensions between Brooklyn and Nicola and his parents are "definitely not beyond repair."
June 2025: Brooklyn and Nicola reportedly enlist a "crisis team" similar to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for "reputation management" due to the growing media scrutiny.
Cruz Beckham posts cryptic lyrics on Instagram that some interpret as a swipe at Brooklyn.
July 2025: Reports indicate David and Victoria are "desperate" to reconcile with Brooklyn. Brooklyn publicly wishes his sister Harper a happy 14th birthday on Instagram, tagging Nicola, which is seen as a potential "olive branch" and a rare public message to his family amid the rumored rift.
Brooklyn UNFOLLOWS his brothers Romeo and Cruz just 24 hours after his birthday message to Harper. Nicola quickly follows suit and also ditches the Beckham bros from her Instagram following. Romeo and Cruz are now also no longer following Brooklyn.

Spacey told actor ‘don't worry about it' after alleged assault, documents claim

Kevin Spacey allegedly sexually assaulted a young actor at a party at The Savoy hotel and then told him 'Don't worry about it', court documents for the High Court legal claim suggest. Ruari Cannon is suing Mr Spacey as well as two organisations connected to the Old Vic Theatre in London, claiming he suffered psychiatric damage as a result of sexual and emotional abuse. The 33-year-old has waived his anonymity in the claim. In court documents seen by the PA news agency, Mr Cannon alleges that Mr Spacey, who was a 'powerful figure and a world-famous actor and celebrity' at the time, assaulted him in about June 2013, when he was 'a very vulnerable young man'. Oscar-winning actor Mr Spacey has previously denied allegations of inappropriate behaviour and wrongdoing, and details of his defence are not yet available. According to the documents, filed in June, Mr Spacey was working as artistic director at the Old Vic Theatre at the time of the alleged assaults on a production of a play by Tennessee Williams known as Sweet Bird Of Youth, and Mr Cannon was a member of the cast in this production. They claim that Mr Spacey 'took a particular interest' in Mr Cannon for 'reasons of sexual interest' and sent him a 'lavish' gift of a framed poster of the 1985 production of the play directed by Harold Pinter. After the press preview of the show on June 12 2013, Mr Cannon attended a party at The Savoy in London organised by The Old Vic Theatre Company (The Cut) and The Old Vic Theatre Trust 2000. It is claimed that one of the alleged assaults took place at the event. Setting out the allegations, Elizabeth-Anne Gumbel KC, for Mr Cannon, said: 'Kevin Spacey pulled the claimant towards him, turned him around through 45 degrees and placed his left hand on the claimant's buttocks and lifted up the recess material of his suit.' It is alleged that Mr Spacey then pushed Mr Cannon's underwear 'as far up' into his bottom as possible, 'so as to cause pain and distress'. Ms Gumbel added: 'Mr Kevin Spacey pulled the claimant closer to him and whispered into the claimant's ear 'Don't worry about it'. 'Mr Spacey made more uncalled for and unwelcome advances to the claimant during the evening.' The following day, Mr Cannon reported the alleged assaults to his stage manager at the Old Vic Theatre, but no action was taken. According to the documents, it is accepted that Mr Cannon did not ask for any action to be taken, and was scared about how any further action might affect his career. Later that year, during the run of the show, Mr Cannon saw Mr Spacey at the Old Vic bar. Mr Spacey allegedly said to him, 'I hear you have a dirty secret', and then said: 'Open up.' Ms Gumbel said: 'Kevin Spacey then forced open the claimant's mouth with his fingers and thumbs and commented 'quite a bad boy' before the claimant could pull away. 'The claimant then left the bar. The forcing open of the claimant's mouth was another assault for which Kevin Spacey was responsible and for which the second and/or third defendants were vicariously liable. 'Further in 2017 when the Old Vic set up a confidential complaints email on October 31 2017 the claimant reported the above complaint again to the Old Vic.' She added that the alleged assaults were carried out by Mr Spacey in the course of his work for the organisations connected to the Old Vic, and they are 'vicariously liable' for the alleged assaults carried out in the context of a theatre production.

He has been nominated twice in the flirtiest performance and the unfinished business categories. He's also up for best no filter moment. Coming in second is Shakira Khan with four nominations, all in different categories. She did miss out on the Eat, sleep crack on, repeat category despite being coupled up with four of the boys during her tenure on the show. Helena Ford, Toni Laites and Dejon Noel-Williams all have three nominations each, whilst Conor Phillips has been nominated in two categories. Meanwhile, Meg Moore, Megan Forte-Clarke, Angel Swift, J amie Rhodes and Cach Mercer have not been overlooked. What do Grafties winners get? All the couples sit at individual tables in the garden as the winners are announced to the villa. Each victor will get their own trophy and a chance to make a speech, either to laugh, cringe, or apologise. Despite what could be a great moment in the villa, the contestants are forced to confront potential feelings and deal with unresolved issues. We all remember when the drama exploded in the villa when Messy Mitch was forced to accept the award for 'Mad Moves'. Who decides the winner? Although the ceremony is decided by the public, unfortunately for Love Island fans, the vote has already closed. The show's official Instagram account announced the categories and the nominees on the 22nd July. Loyal viewers of the long-running dating show were able to have their say via an exclusive vote on its Instagram stories. 5 5 5

Danny Dyer deserves his Bafta, but not for Mr Bigstuff

Danny Dyer won a Bafta this year for Mr Bigstuff (Sky Max), and enlivened that most boring of awards ceremonies in his trademark style. He swore three times in 90 seconds, had the audience in stitches, and praised the show's creator, Ryan Sampson, for being multi-talented: 'He's never done the same thing twice, which is not something I can say.' Alas, the speech was funnier than Mr Bigstuff itself. I suspect Bafta wanted to honour Danny Dyer just for being Danny Dyer, because he's approaching national treasure status, rather than to show their love for this show in particular. They should have given it to him for Rivals, in which he really did give us something different. He's a talented actor. However, in Mr Bigstuff he's just playing a larger-than-life version of Danny Dyer, who is larger than life in the first place. The first series drew on the odd couple dynamic between Lee (Dyer) and Glen (Sampson). The long-lost brothers couldn't be more different: Glen is living the mildest of lives as a World of Carpets salesman until Lee turns up to sow chaos. In series two, they set off in search of the dad they thought was dead, but who turns out to be living in Tenerife. Glen's fiancee, Kirsty (Harriet Webb from Big Boys), is trying to spice up her marriage with some light S&M, while being targeted by a blackmailer who has incriminating snaps of her kissing Lee. Series two feels like a retread, but with Sampson trying to push the Dyer scenes that little bit further. So, in series one, Lee spent a lot of time in a dressing gown, and in series two he is still wearing a dressing gown but it's filthy on account of the fact that he mostly lives in an armchair on the street while knocking back bottles of vodka and listening to Barry Manilow. In series one, he got annoyed about non-recyclable packaging, and in series two he yells at neighbours who put their yoghurt pots in the wrong bin. By the end of the opening episode, he has dispensed with the armchair altogether and runs down the street naked, just after a scene in which he has a sanitary towel stuck to his head on a petrol station forecourt. Meanwhile, fans of Rula Lenska will be delighted to learn that she makes a sultry appearance in episode two. Lee tells her he's come round to mend her guttering. 'My guttering is f----ing immaculate,' she says, and she's not talking about the downpipe on her house. It's silly, ribald fun, featuring an accomplished cast, but the whole thing is held together by Dyer's charisma. Try to imagine any other actor speaking Lee's lines and it would fall flat.
